These actions were measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible. They focused on dismantling the terrorist infrastructure and disabling terrorists likely to be sent across to India.

Keep repeating ad nauseam.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
How much in the escalatory ladder we will climb if Navy really attacks Karachi port?
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
I dunno ask the folks in government who drafted the statement on the first day of strikes.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
Yesterday I saw somewhere that a Chinese cargo ship is anchored at Karachi port and probably that is the reason India is not attacking there. Pakistani naval assets moved towards Gwadar, again under the Chinese protection.

The attacks petering out may indicate our losses have been higher than expected, requiring an adjustment in tactics or a reassessment.williams wrote: ↑10 May 2025 00:01 Yeah the whole approach GoI is taking is quite strange for a major Power with so much capacity to finish the Pakis and their sponsors today. Modi, Doval, Jayshankar and our armed forces generals are not the people who will take the least path of resistance. So it is possible this team will surprise us again in a few days. Perhaps India's soft approach has to do with some information they have about Chinese plan to intervene if we escalate further.

At the same time, he wants PK totally destroyed, without any compromise.

Just saw a video from Sirsa, Haryana. The blast seems much bigger than a drone. Could it be a missile?

Looks like almost all of these videos are captured on Chinese IP cameras. Hope we are monitoring outbound traffic.

From ToI - could be DDM- They are sending unarmed drones"Most of the drones were unarmed. The drones were fitted with cameras and possibly relaying footage to their ground stations. The Indian air defence systems took out almost all the drones which could have caused damage to infrastructure," added defense sources.

More measured reporting tonight (SM and TV)
Maybe some course correction after last night or maybe there genuinely isn't much going on besides drone probing and being shot out of the sky

The MEA briefing has mentioned that the drones Pak has sent are Turkey made and gave the name.

Good point. This is IAs official statement:
The Indian Army said, "Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The drone attacks were effectively repulsed and a befitting reply was given to the CFVs. Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force."
The indigenously developed Akash surface-to-air missile air defence system has played a crucial role in thwarting Pakistani drone attacks targeting Indian assets on Thursday, according to defence officials. Officials added that the Indian Army and Air Force have deployed the missile system along the Pakistan border.
Re: Operation Sindoor - Bharat Strikes Back: Jai Hind!
If they are recce drones then they should be shot down. We have enough required ammunition to do this for way longer than they can send drones.williams wrote: ↑10 May 2025 01:49From ToI - could be DDM- They are sending unarmed drones"Most of the drones were unarmed. Some very good tidbits about Paki strategy. I think Indian leadership is taking some time to recalibrate a good response.
Some very good tidbits about Paki strategy. I think Indian leadership is taking some time to recalibrate a good response.
Military analysts suggest the offensive was not aimed at causing direct damage but was a multi-pronged strategy to exhaust Indian air defence resources, probe vulnerabilities, and potentially map radar coverage and response times.
The swarm included small quadcopters, larger UAVs, and mother drones guiding clusters in coordinated waves. Many of the drones carried no explosives — only stone pellets or empty casings, according to forensic examinations — suggesting that the incursion was likely intended for reconnaissance and electronic probing rather than direct strikes.
The drones, described as “off-the-shelf” or “garage-modified,” cost a fraction of the missiles or bullets used to bring them down. One official described the scenario bluntly: “They’re using Rs 10,000 drones to trigger Rs 2 crore responses. It’s economic warfare.”
India’s defence establishment has taken note. “This is a wake-up call,” said one official. “The battlefield is evolving, and so must our countermeasures — in speed, scale, and strategy.”

A small nit. Why is POK shown as part of Shittistan? He could have easily found a better outline map.williams wrote: ↑09 May 2025 11:11 Paki air fields: Courtesy - Nitin Gokhale

Defensive posturing is more expensive than offensive.. just bomb puki land wherever there is a threat.

Pakistan it seems has launched ballistic missiles towards Punjab and Haryana which have been intercepted and neutralised by India’s air defence systems. Pakistan is desperate in frustration to create communal tension in India after global embarrassment due to India’s attacks.
