It might take days, not hours, for a EV battery cell fire to be completely extinguished and stop.
If a cargo ship with containers of EV cell catches fire then it is much much tougher.

Commercial bids to be submitted by December 2025.
With Netra MK2 based on A-321 slated to cost over 20,000 crore and will be cleared by CCS soon and MRTT techno commercial bids to be opened next month. Along with additional C-295 orders from IAF. Airbus is slated to reap a bumper harvest in India.

As Coast Guard Turns 50, Defence Minister Lauds Its Role In War & Peace
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on its 50th Raising Day, highlighting its frontline role during Operation Sindoor and calling it a “wall of trust” for maritime security. He urged the ICG to draft a 25‑year roadmap aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047, focusing on manpower, capability and reforms. From seven platforms in 1977, the ICG now operates 155 ships and 80 aircraft, with plans for 200 ships and 100 aircraft by 2030, safeguarding India’s vast coastline and Exclusive Economic Zone.

Coast Guard can look at Autonomous Unmanned Platform. In Coastal patrol and defending fisherman can be best met with these boats.

The Indian coast guard can use the Indian Navy design bureau services and create their own coast guard fleet. Each of these services should have a stake in Atmanirbharta and roll up their sleeves and get to work. Depending on imports and tie-ups is yesterday stuff. When you become #3 in the world, you have to do things on your own and declare independence from all and sundry.
