Can someone please post transcripts of Modiji’s speech here
Re: Happy Independence Day!
Happy 78th!
The PM's speech was unusually long today, looks like he used the opportunity to set the roadmap in light of recent external challenges, without explicitly naming those challenges (re: Trump).

Re: Happy Independence Day!
This seems to have been the foundational part of his speech:
Independence Of Those Dependent On Others Always Tenuous: PM Modi From Red Fort - Swarajya
Independence Of Those Dependent On Others Always Tenuous: PM Modi From Red Fort - Swarajya
Full speech here:Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the nation for the 12th consecutive time from the Red Fort on the 79th Independence Day, said that true freedom cannot exist for those who rely on others for their needs.
“Independence of those dependent on others is always tenuous,” he remarked, urging citizens to build a self-reliant India in every sector, from economy to technology.
The Prime Minister underlined that dependence weakens the foundations of freedom and that self-reliance is the key to securing the nation’s future.
He called on youth, industry, and innovators to make India a global leader through indigenous capabilities.
Speaking against external pressures and influences, he stressed that India must shape its destiny without compromise.
The vision, he said, is of a confident, independent nation that commands respect and safeguards its sovereignty through strength and self-sufficiency

I am not given to writing sentimental or cringy patriotic posts. However:
15th Aug is also the day the Taliban took over Afghanistan after the American's abandoned them.
In my latest blog post, I feature the story of an Afghan girl - a budding poet, who was jailed for simply writing poetry.
Makes me appreciate the freedom I have here.
This girl to me is more gutsy than Malala - who had the amazing good fortune of getting shot and surviving. She reached out to me after
reading my previous post of an Afghan army officer abandoned by the US, just before the fall of Kabul. There was also a medical student who
reached out to me. I did a blogpost with his inputs on the drug situation in Afghanistan.
This is her story - with links to the other two first person accounts.

Original recording of "Jana Gana Mana" performed by the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Hamburg, Germany, in 1942. This was the birth of our National Anthem, thanks to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
On 11 Sept 1942, Indo-German Association was founded at the Hotel Atlantic in Hamburg in the presence of Netaji, Lord Mayor of Hamburg, representatives of the German government, diplomats and well-known personalities. On this occasion, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Hamburg played the National Anthems of Germany and the Free India Centre.

Great speech from Red Fort.
Great speech from Red Fort.
Re: Happy Independence Day!
Have been longing for it for many, many years now. A decalaration akin to President Kennedy challenging NASA to put an american on the moon within the decade
Need to see it in action though - the funding, the organisational setup, the tie-ups (national/international agencies), the testing beds procurement,...
Above all, i think it should be an iterative program. Not XYZ Kn or bust. And the engine developed MUST be put on an aircraft. If (heaven forbid) it doesn't meet the spec for the AMCA, then for heavens sake build another aircraft around it - mud-mover, trainer or just an airshow piece.
