Even in a tight job market, a citizen can find an IT job much easily than an H1. Any IT job pays better than waiting or barista. All Iam saying is its hard for an h1b worker to replace a citizen who is equally knowledgeable.Vayutuvan wrote: ↑21 Sep 2025 01:01That is all true but there are not too many IT jobs now, especially entry level. At the entry level, like testing or documentation or support, salaries are quite low. Where Indians H1Bs shine are in mid level jobs which require a couple of years of experience. But they are also willing to work anywhere in the country, unlike Americans who want to live in cities and/or close to their family.
I myself worked in a 3K town 60 miles south of DC where SWIFT has a development center. Entire SWIFT development was done by Indian H1Bs. Max time for GCs was 1.5 years to 2 years in NY/NJ/CT least was in CA 4-6 months. MI too has similar wait times.

Turkey is middle east lol nor middle west lolwa . Even in Yankee Midwest the larger cities are very diverse like Chicago suburbs , Urbana , Columbus /cleveland /s.louis ,omaha etc . Even in deep deep red states like iowa ,cedar rapids /Des Moines have diversity. As such most of midwest isn't all that racist . Pockets being exception . Deep south is a different story .
I am concerned about spillover in real life . There have been studies that show that does happen . Also the current government is influenced by online trolls and there have been obvious instances where online campaigns have led to official statements and likely even policy influence . Like that lady who was caught shoplifting in target on Chicago. It was pretty unusual for a desi to be involved in such things but DOS issued a visa /travel advisory.
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
Tongue in cheek because Turkiye is in NATO which is associated with the West. Israel for all cultural reasons, is in the West. So is Jordan and Cyprus. Ofc I live in a twin of the one of the midwestern towns you listed above. I don't see any more racism than say in your city.

Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
Yes, he definitely is the target, And, this one is out there with far reaching consequences, but not yet a law and odds of passing seem small. New Moreno Bill Would Crack Down on Outsourcing, Fund American Workers
Today, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) introduced the Halting International Relocation of Employment Act, or HIRE Act, to protect American workers from outsourcing by disincentivizing U.S. companies from chasing cheaper wages and hiring foreign workers. The legislation will impose a tax on any company that employs foreign labor instead of Americans and will use the generated revenue to fund workforce development programs to help the middle-class.
...
The HIRE Act:
...
- Creates a 25% tax on outsourcing payments, defined as any money paid by a U.S. company or taxpayer to a foreign person whose work benefits consumers in the United States.
- Creates a “Domestic Workforce Fund” to collect any money raised from the outsourcing tax, which is used to support apprenticeships and workforce development programs.
- Prohibits companies from deducting any outsourcing payments.
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
This fake claim of the Turks stems from the fact that the Greek-founded city Byzantion ---> Konstantinopolis ---> Constantinople ---> Istanbul lies on the European landmass side. Its a tenuous link that the actual Europeans usually disdain. Turkey is an Asian country without a doubt. There is nothing significant in their culture that is European, including their language and religion. The ancient Greeks had many Asian and African colonies/outposts (including Alexandria in Egypt) but that does not make all those countries European. Even parts of Akhand Bharat were Hellenic kingdoms at one time.
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
^^
But the Turkish population is now genetically closer to Europeans than to the Central Asians where the Turkish civilization actually started. This is because of their conquest/ conversion/ assimililation of European people living in Asia Minor and Eastern/ Southern Europe during the centuries of Ottoman Empire.

Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
In that case, is Argentina or Chile a European country ? The point is, Turkey is on the Asian continent, with a culture that is a mix of central Asian/Mongol, Arab, and Iranian influences. The genetic intermixing is not relevant.Kakkaji wrote: ↑22 Sep 2025 08:40 ^^

Contrast with countries like Bosnia and Albania, which are actually in Europe and definitely European in culture even if heavily influenced by the Turks (the first is a green majority and the second is 40+% green).

MAGA supporters on 4Chan launched "Clog the Toilet" operation to block Indian H1B workers from returning to the US by reserving flight seats without paying. Flight prices spiked. A 4Chan post urged, "Clog the flight reservation system!" to keep Indian workers grounded. Some claimed to have locked up 100 seats. But here's the kicker - there was no deadline for Indians to return, and Air India does not do refunds.
So these low IQ incels at 4Chan lost a ton of money. Just proves the US needs more - not less - H1B workers.

IMO this H1B storm in a tea cup is nothing more than a pressure tactic to get Modi and his govt under domestic blowback and cause policy chaos as the trade negotiations restart this week. India and Indians are pizzed off and are even more strongly backing Modi.
GST cuts have taken center stage in our news cycles and H1B saga will be mostly forgotten in a few days as Navaratri starts. By the time Diwali comes, Trumpwa will be left clutching wet crackers.
If disrespecting, foul mouthing and cheap pressure tactics (including lighting fires in our neighborhood) are now the art of the deal, then good luck to amreeka.
IMO Bharat should complete it's trade negotiations with EU and others to secure it's commercial interests so that when we finally come to US sometime next year, we can be in a much stronger and comfortable position.

MMS made a statement during his PM days that this period of world treating India's rise as benign is our luck and may not last forever. We are seeing the world changing its view of India's rise. Human capital is still the primary export of India and we are still ways off from getting out of that. This is a tough situation to navigate and sharks are out on the prowl for the hunt...

what they did in the above was holding the ticket, as in they filled in the details but did not checkout, this triggered a 15 minute holding period for the seat selected, and they brute spammed this multiple times, some even created a script to auto fill the details and hold, this in actuality caused prices to spike up, one legitimate flyer had to pay upwards of $6000 because of such antics
hence the name: clogging, because they were jamming up the entire system, it came to naught as the policies were updated afterwards, but in the interim, they had a lot of screenshots, i would know, i was there

Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
Any letting of U.S farm produce in India will give them the opportunity to demand that India stop subsidizing the farmers to remove the price advantage enjoyed by Indian farmers and that will lead to situations where Indian farmers leaving the non profitable farming while mass farming in the U.S able to export to India, making us relying on U.S for food. We did not achieve Green revolution to reach such a situation and hand over our freedom and life back to the Goras. The destroying of Farm bills was to ensure that Indian farmer never achieve self reliance and compete with the west. If they cannot accept our terms, its better not to have a trade deal.
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
The hunger index psy-ops is starting to make sense now . The reason farm bill was sabotaged is because green revolution 2 would have made this propaganda non sequitor .

Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
two points to this: why pay actual money when blocking can be attained by not paying in the first place, asoical autists as a rule do not tend to be overtly wealthy owing to a disinterest in social interactions and network building
secondly, why only assume it was users from the us? it was everyone as far as i could see, france, australia, canada, chile, algeria, singapore, thailand, baltics, see you do not have to register to post anything on 4chan which is its beauty, no otp on phone or mail confirmation or national id nonsense, though while posting the users can opt to show from which geographic locations they are posting, and it is usually people from all over the globe
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
4chan racists tend not to be the asocial autistic type . They tend to be chutiyas with low IQ and are asocial because no one wants to be with them because they are disgusting . Simply opening the page can cause your brain to melt its that low IQ . If the ticket thingy happened on AI flight and was successful it is more likely that turki /chini groups are behind it .however the routes are usually packed . It's impossible to find a last minute ticket.
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
I have a feeling that the number of people going hungry in India are almost zero. In my childhood days, rice and wheat was for the landholding families/salaried. Field workers had to do with makkai/bajra/jowar roti, red mirchi+salt chutney, and a piece or two of onions. Now a days, everybody can eat rice - may not be the best quality old sona masoori but certainly reasonable quality non-broken rice.
I will ask around.
Re: India-US relations: News and Discussions IV
