Re: Indo-UK News & Discussions- June 2017
Reform will polish off whatever little is left of the UK economy by selling off prime assets to private entities. Never trust a City boy to be able to do anything else with the economy
Re: Indo-UK News & Discussions- June 2017
Right now Reform is cannibalising Tory party voters. However, its victories in council (equivalent to our district or big municipality elections) have been a double edged sword : Reform councillors have been found utterly lacking of any administrative skills and have resigned or being exposed as utter racists. Parliament elections are still 3+ years away , so lot can happen.
Having performed a stupid act of Brexit , it would be monumentally stupid of Brits if they repeat it by electing Reform and the same grifter Farage…
The Labour and then Tory policies of uncontrolled migration are now coming back to haunt them.

^^
Tanaji a lot can happen in three years.
But first big one will be what does RR do come October budget.
She has to find nearly £40 billion to fill a big hole!!
That said any tax increase will erode their middle class votes!!
A fair percentage of the White working class are turning to BNP/Robinson types
Hard core labour are sucking up to the muslims and believe me there are a fair percentage of them.
Just to give you an example : this year Leicester Diwali Mela was so curtailed with no street stalls and cultural events ( all in the name of security and you know who complained!!)
So labour are assured of the Peaceful+ hard core left vote.
The Upper crust and the Indians (a fair share) are for the Tories.
The Greens are gaining in some areas especially well to do areas/ ruralesque appeal areas.
So the disenchated and White working are moving to Nigel's party.
There could be a 'Kedgeree' Gobermint next time!!
Unless there is a labour leadership change!!
Andy Burnham has gone silent but he has the appeal and ticks all the right boxes.
Unlike the London Jihadi, Andy has done fairly well in Manchester.
So lets see!!

Never mind. Kust checked the housing prices. Houses are unaffordable in Cambridge and burbs. What is with UK real estate? 2/3 BR but one bath? leasehold properties and such, so you don't own the land the house is standing on.
Re: Indo-UK News & Discussions- June 2017
UK house prices are a scam for various historical reasons. On top of that the housing stock is quite old, inefficient in insulation and modern conveniences and small. Leaseholds have now been outlawed , but only for new housing developments. However, there are existing freehold houses as well. All countries including India have managed to solve the problem of common area maintenance- except UK which combined with greed and high prices makes house ownership cost about 40-45% of your annual income on average. In my opinion if anyone has stayed in US for any significant period of time , they will find it quite challenging to adjust to the UK .Vayutuvan wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 02:21For all the UK waasis. Is UK (some pace like Cambridge) better than US midwest for HIndu PIOs? What are the steps to get a UK citizenship for a naturalized US citizen? Can an American live in the UK indefinitely, if they are not working?

Hmm. I should limit the UK to tourism. I really loved Bath, Cambridge, and the countryside visible from the train/bus. I hadn't been to any other place than London and these two.
London's skyline has become ugly with all the high-rises. It lost its old charm. Only London and the UK in general, I am still in love with are what were depicted in Sherlock Holmes, Tom Brown's Schooldays, Agatha Christie, or Sir Walter Scott.

UK house sizes are closer to Hong Kong than Europe and forget about US/Australia. Plus remember 6 months of winter with no sunshine and 3 months of summer with some sunshine if lucky. Don't be fooled by movies and serials that show Indian summer sunshine, that is like 20% of the time in summer. Maybe like Bollywoodias buy a condo/townhouse/converted flat in central London that will cost at least $1M and if you have change buy something else in Southern Europe

Re: Indo-UK News & Discussions- June 2017
I once attended an online RE seminar in Singapore. Lot of Singaporeans(as does Sino) buy in the UK because they know it is a rigged game against buyers as there is no appetite to build more. The newer investors are moving to the North... Manchester etc buying new build flats only to rent them out. Rest fix older houses and sell them. Blackrock, Blackstone etc are buying a lot of RE to rent out. But this market is like a serpent swallowing its tail... many middle class peeps are landlords themselves to the point no one knows if their kids themselves will be able to afford RE. Any $$ they earn will be ploughed back to buy property for their kids ! Hence many younger professionals go to Dubai to earn enough $$ and buy once back in UK

Saar, I liken the current UK to our current nawabs in Hyderabad and rajahs in Rajasthan. Very few of them have money but they act as if they still have the same grandeur and everyone else must defer to them.Vayutuvan wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025 23:47

Look closely and you see all the edifices are crumbling and in some cases literally. Of course it takes time for a once vast and great empire like UK was to crumble - but make no mistake we are in the middle stages. The university system is still great and punches above its weight - but its only true for the Russell group of universities. Most other universities are financially strapped and some will go under. They cant raise fees by much for local students due to regulation and international students are abandoning because of visa restrictions…
An aging population and politics means the UK cant raise taxes kn local populace. Thatcher and her acolytes sold the family silver long ago. Pure corruption and greed means the really rich are never taxed and companies get a free pass as long as the politicians and their cronies get paid off…. Just wait till Reform gets in and it will be a banana republic led by the pound shop clone of Enoch Powell and the grifter Farage….
Its a beautiful country though, one of prettiest and easily accessible. Perfect place to stay if you can afford it and are already a multi millionaire.

The situation regarding Reform/Labour/Conservatives/liberals is not as straightforward as some like to think.
Reform are going to win a huge amount of seats in Parliament.
Labour/Conservatives have goofed up big time on immigration and they are totally out of touch with reality. The Conservatives because they basically are for the rich and just really represent the interests of their wealthy business backers who want mass uncontrolled immigration because it will be a huge pool of cheap labour, it will drive wages down.
Labour because they have pegged themselves to the peacefool demographic and the sex slavery scandal which has happened in mainly working class areas means that they are finished, I don't think it will be finished for 3-4 election cycles, I mean finished as in the party will never be elected to national government again.
Labour and other leftists jump through hoops to make excuses for the islamic block
Labour abandoned it's working class constituency for various interest groups. The LGBTQ+, militant feminists, Unions, the peacefools, and the left wing middle class and others. This is the fantasy of the left, that all these interest groups really do represent society.
They don't.
Sooner or later some thing will happen here, there is going to be a terror attack and the casualties will be very high.
When that happens it will be open season on any brown face. We are going to be caught in the middle.
The talk is getting more and more poisonous, I have overheard some really nasty conversations in pubs and on public transport.
Labour are absolutely divorced from reality, the islamists are trying to assert themselves. There is a push back coming and the Indian community is going to be caught in the middle.
The media is stoking up an anti-India narrative because of the Ukraine/Russia situation and the oil purchases.
Who do we support ??

Ah yes. England. Where there is freedom and the place names are quaint.
When I was in Tooting, I didn’t give a farthing.
