The Indian and Australian armies are slated to conduct the fourth edition of the “AustraHind” combat exercise at Irwin Barracks in Perth from Oct 13 to 26. Op Trishul 2025: Indian Tri-Services Wargames Make Pak Take Emergency Moves | Samar Pal Toor Decodes
Operation Trishul 2025: 'Pakistan Will Keep Guessing', Indian Tri-Services Wargames Make Pakistan Take Emergency Moves | Samar Pal Toor Decodes

India has kicked off its annual tri-Service combat exercise Trishul. These large-scale wargames involve all three branches of the defense forces: the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force, along the western front with Pakistan. The Trishul exercise starts just days after Defense Minister Rajnath Singh cautioned Pakistan about its military buildup near the Sir Creek area. Major Samar Pal Toor (Retd.) mentioned that these wargames are "routine" and take place every year as part of standard tri-Service drills. However, he noted that this year's exercise is notable for its scale, complexity, and operational area. "Multiple joint combat drills, both offensive and defensive, will be carried out during Trishul," Major Toor pointed out.

Indian Armed Forces Hold Massive Exercise Trishul Shakti
India has launched Exercise Trishul, a 12‑day tri‑service drill along the Pakistan border, its largest since Operation Sindoor. Spanning Gujarat and Rajasthan, it tests the “JAI” doctrine of Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation through integrated ISR, cyber, and electronic warfare.

The Army, Navy, and Air Force are fielding indigenous systems, advanced fighters, warships, and Special Forces in joint manoeuvres. Pakistan’s sweeping airspace restrictions reflect unease. Simultaneously, Exercise AstraShakti in Ladakh validated precision artillery, drones, counter‑UAS, and commando operations in high‑altitude conditions.
