Why permit them to get a response from you?

Re: Bangladesh News and Discussion
Last Friday at 2:24 pm, Sharif Osman bin Hadi, convener of Inqilab Moncho, was shot in the Box Culvert area of Old Paltan, Dhaka. A person riding a motorcycle, following from behind, fired at Hadi, who was in a battery-operated rickshaw.
SN Nazrul Islam stated that the “shooter” Faisal Karim Masud and the motorcycle rider Alamgir Sheikh have been identified.
In response to a journalist’s question, Nazrul Islam said that after checking the immigration database, there is no information so far indicating that they have fled the country. Faisal’s passport number has been obtained, and according to his most recent travel record, he apparently returned from Thailand last July. After that, there is no record of any departure in the immigration database.
India’s High Commissioner to Dhaka, Pranay Verma, has once again been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Bangladesh has urged that if those, who attacked Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Moncho, enter India, they should be arrested and sent back.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pranay Verma was summoned on Sunday morning.
He was also informed of the interim government’s concerns over the continued provocative statements being made by deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has taken refuge in Delhi.
During the tenure of the interim government, this is at least the fifth time the ambassador of the neighbouring country has been summoned in connection with various incidents.
Composite from:Press Release on India’s rejection of assertions made by the interim government of Bangladesh
December 14, 2025
India categorically rejects the assertions made by the interim Government of Bangladesh in its press note dated 14 December 2025.
2. We have consistently reiterated our position in favour of free, fair, inclusive and credible elections being held in Bangladesh in a peaceful atmosphere.
3. India has never allowed its territory to be used for activities inimical to the interests of the friendly people of Bangladesh.
4. We expect that the interim Government of Bangladesh will take all necessary measures for ensuring internal law and order, including for the purpose of holding peaceful elections.

Re: Bangladesh News and Discussion
An attempt to rewrite history in Bangladesh is under way, with e.g., CU pro-VC calls claim that Pakistani forces killed intellectuals baseless ( https://en.prothomalo.com/bangladesh/lo ... zn4uo6w0yo ) { Mohammad Shamim Uddin Khan said, “Intellectuals were killed as part of a conspiracy to turn this country into a vassal state of another country through an international plot. } etc.
One more thing they're trying to say is that Ziaur Rahman's radio broadcast from Chittagong was the first declaration of independence; that Sheikh Mujibur Rehman was silent on the matter.
The proof against it is this declassified US Dept of State document:
https://history.state.gov/historicaldoc ... -76v11/d11
11. Minutes of Washington Special Actions Group Meeting1
Washington, March 26, 1971, 3:03–3:32 p.m.
Note that this would have been 2:03-2:32 AM, March 27, 1971 in Bangladesh. We are told that "Major Ziaur Rahman made his historic declaration of independence from Chittagong on the evening of March 27, 1971, at approximately 7:45 PM". So this WSAG meeting was held before Ziaur Rahman's broadcast.
Now to quote from the document, emphasis added:
Just like Indians are coming to revisit and revile JLN, it is OK for Bangladeshis to do so with Sheikh Mujib, etc. However, that must be done while respecting the truth. Reassessment of history is very different from rewriting it.

Bangladesh is headed into a deep Islamist nightmare, with the US and others seeming to pre-acknowledge a Jamaat victory in the upcoming elections. The minimum needed is to not let lies overwhelm the truth.Mr. Helms: [1 line of source text not declassified] the situation in the area of the Consulate General is very quiet but that an enormous fire has been going on for hours in the old part of the city. Very few shots or explosions have been heard. Only two of the Consulate personnel had been able to get to the Consulate building by 6:30 p.m.
[1 line of source text not declassified] Mujibur Rahman was taken into custody at 1:00 p.m. by the martial law authorities. Two of his supporters were killed when the arrest took place. [2 lines of source text not declassified]
[1½ lines of source text not declassified] They say that Yahyaʼs speech Friday2 night has to be heard to appreciate the venom in his voice as he described Mujibur Rahman. The fat is in the fire. Islamabad confirms that Mujibur Rahman was successfully arrested.
It is unclear what caused the collapse of the talks.
Dr. Kissinger: Yesterday it looked as though an agreement were in sight.
[Page 25]
Mr. Helms: Yes, an agreement appeared near on March 24. The breakdown may have been because of Mujibur Rahmanʼs insistence on the immediate lifting of martial law.
A clandestine radio broadcast has Mujibur Rahman declaring the independence of Bangla Desh. There are 20,000 loyal West Pakistani troops in East Pakistan. There are also 5,000 East Pakistani regulars and 13,000 East Pakistani paramilitary troops, but their loyalty is doubtful. We cannot confirm Indian press reports that a large number of Pakistani troops landed by ship. Six C–130s carrying troops were supposed to be going from Karachi to Dacca today. It will take them a long time, since they have to go via Ceylon.
There are 700 potential U.S. evacuees in Dacca and 60 or 70 in Chittagong. There has been no request for evacuation yet.
Just like Indians are coming to revisit and revile JLN, it is OK for Bangladeshis to do so with Sheikh Mujib, etc. However, that must be done while respecting the truth. Reassessment of history is very different from rewriting it.

Bangladesh: Humiliation, Carnage, Liberation, Chaos Hardcover – 18 December 2025
by Iqbal Chand Malhotra (Author), Subroto Chattopadhyay (Author)
The roots of the conflict between East and West Pakistan go back to the traumatic partition of the subcontinent in 1947. Pakistan was united by religion but divided by language and culture—fault lines that soon metastasized into repeated humiliations and injustices. As protests erupted, the Pakistan Army unleashed a brutal campaign to silence dissent: three million people were killed, over 200,000 women were subjected to sexual violence, and ten million refugees fled to India, all for demanding autonomy.
The silence of the international community was deafening. The US and China, openly tilting towards Pakistan, did nothing to halt the unfolding genocide. The subcontinent had become the epicentre of a superpower contest.
India stood isolated.
Impoverished and destabilized by left-wing insurgency yet morally steadfast, Indira Gandhi’s India—working in close coordination with Tajuddin Ahmad, Bangladesh’s first PM, and the resolute Mukti Bahini—waged a covert struggle for nine months. This culminated in a swift thirteen-day military campaign that broke the Pakistan Army, resulted in the capture of 93,000 prisoners of war, and delivered Bangladesh in one of history’s fastest and most decisive liberations.
All arms of the Indian state and Bangladesh’s government-in-exile had worked in perfect unison to deliver a glorious victory, yet peace proved fragile. Chaos followed almost immediately after independence, and nearly all the central figures of the struggle were eventually assassinated in a spiral of senseless violence.
Half a century later, as the same hatreds of language, identity, and faith erupt again, the ghosts of 1971 return—not as memory, but as warning.

SHOCKING. Muhammad Yunus’s interim setup asks India to arrest radical Osman Hadi’s attackers
— Even as Dhaka Police admits there’s no evidence of their link with India.
Hadi, now in coma, had pushed a ‘Greater Bangladesh’ map grabbing Indian land. He was later shot down by 2 Unknown GUNMEN.

A few posts up, I had posted about Osman Hadi’s murder, including “ SN Nazrul Islam stated that the “shooter” Faisal Karim Masud and the motorcycle rider Alamgir Sheikh have been identified”.
These are not “unknown gunmen” - the Indian YouTube/social media warriors who keep claiming so have lost my confidence.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs
December 17, 2025
The Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, H.E. Mr Riaz Hamidullah, was today (December 17, 2025) summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs and apprised of India’s strong concerns at the deteriorating security environment in Bangladesh. His attention was drawn, in particular, to the activities of some extremist elements who have announced plans to create a security situation around the Indian Mission in Dhaka.
2. India completely rejects the false narrative sought to be created by extremist elements regarding certain recent events in Bangladesh. It is unfortunate that the interim government has neither conducted a thorough investigation nor shared meaningful evidence with India regarding the incidents.
3. India has close and friendly relations with the people of Bangladesh rooted in the liberation struggle, and strengthened through various developmental and people-to-people initiatives. We are in favour of peace and stability in Bangladesh and have consistently called for free, fair, inclusive and credible elections, conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
4. We expect the interim government to ensure the safety of Missions and Posts in Bangladesh in keeping with its diplomatic obligations.

what are the beedis hoping to get from this demonstration? that they will not take "bullying" from the big bad in the neighborhood? that they can push back in the name of sovereignty? i begin to understand now why the pakis did as they did way back when, some societies just exist to undertake cruising for a bruising
perhaps our leadership was a bit too hasty in sending in the troops, should have waited a bit longer for the pakis to inflict permanent damage on the psyche of the beedi society; unfortunately we interfered in their resurgent / fightback phase and that snowballed and now the survivor beedi struts around toting psychologically humongous balls but with little actual on ground accomplishments in fights in addition to looking like an aids survivor
chalk this one as another loss for india, this one brought about by altruistic intentions, should have let the pakis bring them to a state of extreme despondency before responding. there is only one way this ends, you cannot defeat the foundation myth of a nation without replacing it with a new one - smaller chunks would have been the way forward but alas the entire nation is 1 subdivision in matters of national / state level governance
plan b would be the fanning of minorities and sub nationalism outreach of capricious ones

10 million refugees in India were killing the Indian economy. PM Indira Gandhi's greatest concern was that the more time that passed, the more permanently these refugees would be lodged in India.ricky_v wrote: ↑18 Dec 2025 00:31 perhaps our leadership was a bit too hasty in sending in the troops, should have waited a bit longer for the pakis to inflict permanent damage on the psyche of the beedi society; unfortunately we interfered in their resurgent / fightback phase and that snowballed and now the survivor beedi struts around toting psychologically humongous balls but with little actual on ground accomplishments in fights in addition to looking like an aids survivor

True that but jihadidi is on our side of the border and frankly an absolute treasonous despicable despot was allowed by the central govts to flourish and undo the sacrifice of 71. Pretty sure this won’t happen in poor African countries either but since we have fertile lands and imbeciles in the system we get away with it. We are sometimes cursed by good fortunes
Re: Bangladesh News and Discussion
Inflationtool.com says: The cumulative inflation rate in India between 1971 and today has been 5,016.87%, meaning that prices are 51.2 times higher than they were in 1971. In practical terms, the purchasing power of ₹100 in 1971 is equivalent to ₹5,116.87 in today's rupees. The average annual inflation rate over this period has been 7.56%.
So consider this to be a Rs 2.50 stamp. Also consider that postal mail was all there was - no email, WhatsApp, etc.

Chetak sir,
From AI

The number of Bangladeshi people in India varies greatly by source, with official census data showing millions (around 3.1-3.7 million in 2001) and unofficial estimates ranging from 3 million up to 20-40 million, often referring to illegal immigrants, though precise, current figures are unavailable due to the undocumented nature of much of this migration, with large populations in West Bengal, Assam, and metro areas like Delhi/Mumbai.
Official & Census Data (Lower Estimates)
2001 Census: Recorded 3.1 million Bangladeshis based on place of birth and 3.7 million by last residence.
2011 Census: Showed around 2.3 to 3.7 million from Bangladesh.

India takes action against Bangladesh! ICG apprehends fishing boats on charges of illegal fishing
Indian Cost Guard apprehended illegal Bangladeshi fishing boats in the Northern Bay of Bengal on December 16. Coast Guard ship Anmol undertook routine surveillance operations, seized 2 boats along with 35 crew members. The arrests were made for violating Maritime Zones of India (MZI) (Regulation of Fishing by Foreign Vessels) Act, 1981. The move comes after Bangladeshi fishing boats engaged in illegal fishing activities inside India’s Exclusive Economic Zone. Apprehended boats, crew were taken into custody by the ICG and subsequently handed over to the Marine Police, Frazerganj, on Dec 17. the beedis are desperately trying to provoke India into some kind of kinetic reaction so that youanus can rally the voters, consolidate his vote bank, coalesce the jihadi votes in time for the approaching "elections"

1. To postpone the elections if India attacks.
2. To generate public interest against India to favor one political party.
Either way it will be a win-win for Youanus., if he can survive till 12th February, 2026. Economic interests are going to haunt Beedis after June-July.

By February 1972, 90% of the refugees had been returned to Bangladesh, and the remaining in the next several months. It was an under appreciated amazing feat of logistics.
That many sneaked in later in not because India won a quick victory or whatever.

Re: Bangladesh News and Discussion
Chetak ji,
The 10 million refugees who came in 1971 were fleeing a legitimate genocide. They were overwhelmingly Hindu, because the genocide was specifically targeted at Hindus in the then-East Pakistan. Most of these went back after the creation of Bangladesh.
In fact, those who did not want to leave because they feared persecution as Hindus in Bangladesh were hounded out-- sometimes by outright acts of genocide, perpetrated by the Communist government of West Bengal (with the sickular central govt turning a blind eye). The 1979 Marichjhapi massacre, detailed in Deep Halder's book "Blood Island", details one such incident.
The vermin who have swarmed into India from Bangladesh in more recent decades are neither Hindu nor refugees. Their infestation has been actively abetted by a succession of sickular governments in states and the centre. And it's only now that anyone in authority is taking steps to reverse it. This is a completely different story.

Rudradev ji,
one is referring only to the beedi/paki scum that invaded India post the beedi liberation of 1971 and the unchecked deluge that it became because the commies and later, mumtaz bano
Today, these very same violence prone, impotent, misfit and politically shunned traitorous vermin wokes and commies are a fast dying breed, hoist by their own petard
The congis quickly saw the benefit to themselves and turned a blind eye to this massive demographic manipulation. The congis and the bano brigade continued this traitorous support and aid to the illegal migration because it suited their nefarious agendas too.
The congis have now manifested into a soreass backed, sheep dipped in a global mullah commie narrative, as the new and cancerous avatar of the eyetaalian mafioso led spineless, soul less congi cohorts, while bano continues her anti nationalist rants driven by the fear of the SIR
That the Siliguri corridor (aka chicken's neck) was not broadened reeks of conspiracy and an agenda long hatched with an eye on the NE. Even the term "seven sisters" is not of Indian origin. We are the descendants and loyal citizens of Bharat Mata, so where did these illegitimate seven sisters spring from and how come every dickhead beedi ruffian is talking about it unless it has been deliberately embedded in their psyche like the desert cult psychosis of ghazwa e hind that is the wet dream of every paki
If IG relied so much on the IA and Sam Bahadur to aid and advise her on the national security and strategic aspects of the 1971 operations, does anyone here seriously think that she was unaware of the vital geopolitical perspectives of the Siliguri corridor and how they could affect the territorial integrity of India in the times to come
And yet, India let slide the chokepoint of the Siliguri corridor that had stuck out like a sore thumb for decades on end, when they had their best ever chance of permanently correcting the situation. The IA would have gamed this scenario tens of multiple times but a testimonially bereft political ecosystem, without any hint of a nationalistic conscience, refused to follow through and did not secure the border in a robust manner
At the very least, it could have been taken on very long term lease with a sovereign guarantee to safeguard India's NATSEC requirements
Why not?

Amber ji,
Time to play scared and use this opportunity to shut down all visas to the beedis, citing the beedis as a threat to the law and order situation in India
Re: Bangladesh News and Discussion
The above simplistic line may not be ideal.
I would recommend making the borders based on natural topography as it will be defensible. The Ganga and Brahmaputra are perfect riverine boundaries that take out the northwest portion, making the Siliguri corridor extra wide. Similarly take out the Chittagong tract along the Feni river or Surma river to get Sylhet and the Chittagong tract. River borders will prevent easy infiltration. Taking away land will also deeply affect the psyche of jihads with wet dreams of ghazwa-e-hind. It will serve as a reminder that future mischief may result in more territory being ceded.
India should take a leaf from China's playbook of claiming land. Keep insisting these are Indian territory. Why should the Radcliffe line of the East be sacrosanct? This was a British construct. To hell with all those stuck in 1947 rhetoric.
