I smile in private when I see these missile tests happen.

In a bit of wonder how fortitudeously were my estimates on how best for Bharat to build a variety of vehicles needed for deterrence.

The days as webmaster of Bharat-rakshak missile pages, 20 yrs ago , were very intense wrt western attempts to brow beat Bharat and Bharat's determination to breakout of shackles of last 500 years.

I pity MTCR/CTBT (shitty bitty) NPT Ayothullas stalwarts like Richard Speier who got so worked up with my work ( that was partially a reverse psy-op.)

India test fires 3,500-km missile from nuclear submarine - Rajat Pandit, ToI

India tested an intermediate-range ballistic missile called K-4, which is designed to hit targets 3,500-km away, from the nuclear-powered submarine INS Arighaat in the Bay of Bengal on Tuesday.

There was no official word from the defence ministry on the missile test conducted off the coast of Visakhapatnam from the 6,000-tonne INS Arighaat, which is operated by the tri-service strategic forces command.

Sources, however, confirmed the missile was the solid-fuelled K-4, which can carry a two-tonne nuclear payload and is critical for India to strengthen the sea leg of its nuclear weapons triad.

"A comprehensive analysis will determine whether Tuesday's test actually met all laid down technical parameters and mission objectives or revealed some shortcomings. It usually takes several tests for ballistic missiles, especially those launched from submarines, to achieve full operational status," a source said.

After multiple trials from undersea platforms in the shape of submersible pontoons over the last several years, the two-stage K-4 missile was tested for the first time from INS Arighaat in Nov last year.

The outer circle range is coming to about 4000 km. Most are reporting it to be K4 test from INS Arighaat.
The inner circle is at around 2000 km. Is the range of K4 that?
The Innermost blue circle is at 1400 km or so.

Public information states K4 Range is 3500 with 2500KG warhead, with a single petal 500KG it's range will possibly be much more

Range of SLBM expressed in concentric circles as shown above is Maya, because its real deterrence range depends on where the sub is located at the moment of launch + the payload of the BM.

The way I read it is that innermost circle covers only Dhaka, second innermost covers islamabad, krachi, colombo, and chengdu. Thirs one covers Beijing, Shanghai, Tehran, and Riyadh.

You can ignore the text and dots, which indeed are wrong. What is discussed is the range of the latest missile test and the three range circles of it. Which and all missiles is depicted there? The First one could be Sagarika/K-15 which is reported in Media as having 750km could be indeed 1500km as depicted in the graph above from Hari's post. The second circle is the mystery missile, if the third one is indeed K4. Or if the second one is K4. The last circle is that of K5.
