The Pravaig Veer is a rugged EV that you cannot buy. However, it could possibly be a breakthrough product in the defence landscape. Above all, it’s an indigenous EV. Here’s how it can turn things around.

Not Specs, What Can the Veer Do?

The Pravaig Veer is a Modular Mission Vehicle, and it supports multiple modules:

ISR (Intel, Surveillance, Reconnaisance): This is a data-centric use case, wherein enemy positions and movements can be monitored.
Spec-ops: For silent mobility during special operations – a situation where stealth is key.
C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems) and RCWS: This module is designed to intercept aerial threats, ex. Drones. RCWS (Remote-Controlled Weapon Systems) modules also enable safe and remote sentry gun operations.
Logistics: Moving arms and ammunition from one point to another requires swiftness and no room for powertrain latency. This is where the Veer can tap into its full potential.
Medic: The Veer’s silent operation and an HVAC-enabled cabin enable crew protection and fast evacuation.
High-altitude Operations: The Veer also gets a module that supports high-altitude patrol, drone launch and charging, and an energy hub.

All aforementioned modules support turret mounts.

Mechanically, the Pravaig Veer is powered by a 95.6kWh battery paired with a 300kW/620Nm dual-motor AWD setup. It is said to deliver a claimed range of more than 500km. 0-100kmph comes in at 6.1 seconds. Pravaig Dynamics has also equipped the Veer with IR driving lights with thermal imaging, detachable doors and windscreen, run-flat tyres, STANAG 1 and STANAG 2 armours, IP65 storage compartments, four captain seats, full-sized spare wheel, snow chains, 15.5-inch infotainment, and charging ports. Reiterating the fact that you cannot buy this rugged EV, it is a definitive milestone for our defence landscape.
