BMC election (227 seats) on Jan 15. Historically, BMC has been controlled by "NDA" parties since 1985. The Shiva Sena dominated the NDA numbers. Significant changes occurred in 2017 when BJP expanded seats dramatically. Let's see what happens. Given current conditions in MH, probably NDA will continue as the majority with BJP having considerably more seats than Shiva Sena. For U/R/A Thakre, this appears to be a "do or die" election.

Nothing much seems to have changed in the past 70 odd years.

congress asks Assam poll ticket seekers to cough up ₹50,000 upfront as application fee, triggering disquiet among grassroots workers, reports The Tribune.

•Murshidabad BLO suicide was blamed by Mamata govt on SIR and EC pressure.

•Police investigation revealed that TMC leader Bullet Khan borrowed ₹20 lakh and refused to return the money

•When BLO asked for repayment, he was threatened with death

•Now Bengal Police arrested Bullet Khan for abetment to suicide.

This is how ecosystem spreading propaganda around SIR and BLO.

The Table The mongrel indi alliance Didn’t Want You to Read

This poster is uncomfortable for one reason—it removes choice of narrative.

It shows that Adani didn’t “expand into” states.
States—run by Congress, Left, TMC, DMK, YSRCP—chose Adani.

They chose him for solar capacity.
For ports that could actually handle global trade.
For data centres that meet hyperscale demands.
For projects that move from MoU to ground.

You can shout slogans.
You can circulate maps.
But you can’t explain away why every government, regardless of ideology, signed on.

It's extremely shocking. A BDO office has been reportedly ransacked by a gang of unruly Mob at Farakka and FIR has been lodged. It's quite a scary visual, CEO WB reports one AERO & two Micro Observers has been badly injured. SIR happening all over but nothing like this.

in the longer run, the bjp will become the congress and the congress the muslim league with bjp chasing the aim of a uniparty ala china

the only way to keep them on the straight and narrow is the perpetual spectre of the emergence of a more "far-right" party in the system so as to avoid a jan sangh 2.0 where some other party emerges out of the ashes of a burned down bjp

30-year hold of Thackerays to end? Amid ink row, Mumbai sees high voting; exit polls give BMC to BJP+
MUMBAI: The city that doesn't sleep, and doesn't really care about voting, turned out in relatively creditable numbers for the BMC elections, held on Thursday after nine years. In 2017, it broke a 25-year record when it hit 55%, and while the final official turnout is expected only on Friday, state election commission officials expect it to be in the range of 54-56% - despite widespread complaints of voters not being able to exercise their franchise because of names missing or booths being changed without advance notice.

Most exit polls gave the BJP-Shiv Sena combine a clear edge against the Thackeray cousins, which would end the 30-year incumbency of the Uddhav Thackeray-led outfit in India's richest civic body.

While Axis My India predicted a comfortable win for BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Sena, predicting the alliance would bag 131-151 seats out of 227 and the Shiv Sena (UBT)-MNS combine 58-68 seats, Saam TV (of the Sakal Group) said the BJP-Sena would win 119 and Thackeray cousins 77. The undivided Sena had won 84 seats in the last BMC polls in 2017 and BJ.
The maximum number of seats exit polls gave Congress was 25, a drop from last time's 30-plus. The two NCPs were marginal players in the Mumbai election. It was the use of marker pens instead of indelible ink to identify those who had voted that became the main controversy. The opposition accused State EC of colluding with the Mahayuti alliance and claimed the pen mark could be easily erased, paving the way for bogus voting.

BJP-led Mahayuti on Thursday struck a confident note after polling concluded, projecting a strong performance not just in the financial capital but in urban bodies statewide.
Amid ink row, Mumbai sees high voting; exit polls give BMC to BJP+

BMC's term had expired four years ago but polls were delayed due to, among other reasons, the Covid pandemic and court cases over delimitation. The campaign was marked by sharp polarisation around the 'Marathi Manoos' identity and high levels of communal rhetoric with CM Devendra Fadnavis calling for a Marathi and Hindu mayor. Allegations of money being distributed to voters and to candidates to withdraw were rife through the run-up to the poll.

The bitter showdown between BJP and Sena's Mahayuti alliance and the Uddhav and Raj Thackeray combine is seen to have brought citizens out in larger numbers to elect local corporators.

While the overall polling percentage in the state and the turnout in Mumbai was seen to be respectable, voting could have been even higher if a section of voters had not had problems locating their polling booths. In Navi Mumbai, state forest minister Ganesh Naik among others could not find his name on the voter list in two polling centres. "If a minister like me can face a situation where his name is missing from the voters' list, then one can imagine what might be happening to common voters," he said.

On the ink row, Uddhav demanded suspension of state election commissioner Dinesh Waghmare and action against him and BMC commissioner Bhushan Gagrani for irregularities in the polling process.

Fadnavis claimed opposition was looking for something to blame for their imminent electoral loss. Except for one case of bogus voting being detected (and one in Jalgaon), polling was seen to be largely peaceful on Thursday.

On the issue of polling booth confusion, SEC Waghmare said, "Since civic polls have not been held since 2017, voters got confused and looked at their assembly booths. Also, they checked their booths on EC website instead of the BMC site." Waghmare said he expected the voting percentage to be higher by 5% from previous civic elections. "It was around 55% in the last elections and it is likely to go up to 60% in these polls," he said.

By evening, state election officials estimated Pune city had nearly 54% voting, while Pimpri Chinchwad saw 58%. Mumbai clocked an impressive 52%, with the larger Mumbai Metropolitan Region also reporting good turnouts. Among other corporations, Kolhapur was leading with 70%, 60% in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik had 58%, Ahilyanagar 64%, Malegaon 63%, Jalgaon 53% and Dhule 52%.

With duplicate voters being a major concern before the polls, the MNS deployed "saffron guards" outside several polling booths. Fadnavis dismissed them, saying, "They will have no impact. If they act up, the police will take action." BJP and Sena netas claimed development work and governance stability had resonated with urban voters this time.

BJP & Mahayuti moving towards CRUSHING WIN by leading in 26/29 Municipal Corpñs.

It was expected though. But what's more surprising is total annihilation of CONgress, even in its strongholds like Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur etc.

PURE FAILURE of JAN-NALAYAK!

I can see future of Maharashtra as BJP + Shiv Sena Vs NCP with CONgress & Thackerays becoming totally irrelevant. Main leaders of CONgress will join NCP and Thackeray Gang will split further to join BJP & Shiv Sena. Mu$£im Votes will be consolidated with AIMIM.

Future of Maharashtra looks bright WITH ELIMINATION of 2 WORSTEST Elements....Thackerays & CONgress!

Jai Bhawani. Jai Shivaji. Jai Maharashtra. Jai Hind.

Across 29 Municipal Corporations, urban Maharashtra has spoken, clearly and decisively.

BJP-led Mahayuti surges ahead with 1,522 leads.
MVA trails are far behind at just 180.

This isn’t momentum.
This is a mandate.

Cities don’t vote on slogans.
They vote on governance, delivery, and trust.

BJP wins where performance matters most.

no one single party can wag their tail to destabilize the system, but everyone can gnash their teeth.

The BJP has an unassailable lead and is safe

Looks like the "sickular" vote went more to the thackray gang than to the congi gang

this time, the election was completely handled by the State Leadership. No doubt that Modi-Shah Ji's guidance was there, but strategies, campaign, alliance formation, candidates selection....everything was largely handled by State Leadership.

It was excellent coordination & hard work of Karyakartas, super social media campaign run by State Units....it was just 'everything perfect in its place'.

This local body election was fought purely by displaying Development Work in Maharashtra done by Mahayuti Sarkar.

No vote Appeal based on Achievements of Modi Sarkar.

So much so that Op Sindoor also wasn't mentioned in the campaign.

BJP fought election only on Local Issues, displayed Local Development done by it & appealed for votes

And so, today's verdict purely reflects public appreciation for its own work.

I think this election proves that Hindu Asmitha is on the 'Kartavyapath'!!
And I sincerely hope that this continues for two/three decades as that 'Ballsundermyer' Mani used to say Un-interrupted and Un-interruptable!!
The Sicular Abrhamics voted tactically for UBT/MNS hoping that Marathi votes will split and adding their votes will carry the new found Sicular Mastiffs to power.
But that seems to have backfired spectacularly !!
And I have no doubt that Dhurandhar has played a major roie in reopening those wounds of 26/11 and awakening the hindus across Mumbai!!
This election maybe the harbinger for WB and UP!!
Lets hope that the other two Dynasts : Akal-less Yadav and Katmoney Bannerjee will be consigned to fires of Khandava Vana!!

"Aaj mera ghar toota hai, kal tera ghamand tootega"

When Uddhav Thackeray was CM, he weaponized BMC to raze Kangana Ranaut's Mumbai bungalow.

Today, Queen Kangana's curse has finally crushed the Thackeray dynasty's political reign. Karma has its own timing
