Bob Jacobson, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, is asked by the press if there’s been any suggestion that they’re not allowed to carry out the investigation into the incident.
He says the Department of Homeland Security left the crime scene because they didn’t have enough staff to secure it. They handed it over to Minnesota State Patrol, who also didn’t have enough resources to "hold it safely" and had to leave.
But he says they are "engaged and involved" in the investigation and can’t share further details.
Border Patrol commander accuses local officials of 'omitting facts'

US Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino accuses Minnesota officials - Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and police chief Brian O'Hara - of hampering federal law enforcement operations, after calling on state and local law enforcement to help them "coordinate to get violent criminals off the streets".
"Just a few minutes ago, [they] did the opposite of that by omitting the fact that the suspect had a gun and magazines full of ammunition, in what looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement," Bovino says.
During a news conference held by local officials earlier, O'Hara said that state and local agencies had been in communication with the Department of Homeland Security, but that they "have not been able to provide us any specific details around the incident itself".

Looks like some people here on BRF want CBP and others to become more like Indian soldiers in Kashmir during the Islamist riots. All of us still remember the pictures/videos of soldiers getting beaten.
The same tactics are being used in MN by the protestors, including children being put at risk by their parents. The backers of these protests are the same set of forces that want to control the narrative, such that Islamists are shown to be the victims.

Alex J Pretti had a legal permit for concealed carry. He was an ICU nurse. Some people like Vayutuvan here (not the vague "some people on BRF", I name names) are despicable, supporting lawless federal agents instead of ordinary people -- and equating this to Kashmir! What a vile piece of sh*t. I doubt he will develop any empathy when the hammer falls indiscriminately on him.

Re: Understanding the US - Again
The thing that the Canadian Prime Minister said - name reality. To anyone who tries to bring up Kashmir as an analog for anything happening in the US - this is my reminder that things in the US were infinitely worse to start with.
And J&K's problem was largely courtesy of that jihadi neighbor to the west.Citation:
Thomas A. Marks (2004) India: State Response to Insurgency in Jammu & Kashmir – The Jammu Case, Low Intensity Conflict & Law Enforcement, 12:3, 122-143, DOI: 10.1080/09662840500072615
Indeed, the internal war in J{ammu}&K{Kashmir}, when scaled, does not begin to approach the levels of criminal violence present in those U.S. metropolitan areas best known for their murder rates. The ‘death count’ in Jammu & Kashmir for 2003 stood at 836 civilians, 1447 militants and 380 security personnel. If this violence is aggregated (2,663), which is unorthodox but certainly presents the worst possible statistical picture, it scales out at 24.5:100,000 population. This would place J&K between Memphis (24.7:100,000) and Chicago (22.2:100,000), in the 2002 murder rankings when examining American cities with populations greater than 500,000, well off the pace established by the likes of Washington, DC (45.8:100,000) or Detroit (42.0:100,000).

Crushed by the welfare-fraud scandal in Minnesota, Governor Tim Walz-- Kamala Harris’s 2024 running mate --has ended his run for a third term and put his political career on pause. The Trump administration is meanwhile cracking down on Minnesota's fraud-riddled program. What does the scandal mean for the state, the federal antipoverty machinery, and upcoming midterm politics? Rita A. Crundwell (née Humphrey; born January 10, 1953) is an American woman who served as the comptroller and treasurer of Dixon, Illinois from 1983 to 2012. She was fired and arrested in April 2012 after the discovery that she had embezzled $53.7 million from the city of Dixon for over 22 years to support her championship American Quarter Horse breeding operation, as well as a lavish lifestyle away from work.[1][2][3] Her embezzlement has been described as the largest municipal fraud in U.S. history.[4] Crundwell pleaded guilty to her crimes and was sentenced to 19 1/2 years in prison.[5]
Crundwell used the money to turn her Quarter Horse breeding operation, RC Quarter Horses, into one of the best-known in the country. Her horses won 52 world championships and she was named the leading owner by the American Quarter Horse Association for eight consecutive years prior to her arrest.[6][7] She spent 8+1⁄2 years (43% of her sentence) in prison before being released in mid-2021 to serve the remainder of her sentence in home confinement. Her sentence was commuted along with nearly 1500 other people by President Biden on December 12, 2024. Those commuted were people who had been ...

I would not be party to supporting the deep state, which is playing the same game in India as well as in the US. How soon we forget Canadians begging India for vaccines during Covid-19 crisis. It is only a matter of time before Democrats will come back into power in the US, which will make these Canadian poodles bark at the elephant that is India.

At talkingpointsmemo.com, Josh Marshall writes:
Again we have an ICE killing in which the Department of Homeland Security gets a story out first which on its face appears to describe an armed civilian in the process of committing a massacre of federal law enforcement officers. A tragedy is prevented only by fast thinking federal officers, this account claims, who shoot and kill the assailant before he can do any harm. As now happens 100% of the time these early DHS narratives are willfully absurd and don’t survive contact with abundant video evidence emerging from the scene. My best current understanding is that the dead man, Alex Pretty, 37, was legally carrying a licensed firearm and was at the scene in some sort observer status or perhaps there to place himself between ICE agents and those they were trying to assault or arrest. Video evidence seems to show clearly Pretty never brandished his firearm and actually used clear non-confrontation signals in his engagement with ICE agents. What’s more, video evidence appears to show that ICE agents had already confiscated Pretty’s firearm in a scuffle before shooting him multiple times.

and
We’ve had several ICE ‘surges’ into major American cities, first starting on the West Coast, then into Chicago and now in Minneapolis. It certainly seems like there has been a marked escalation in the marching orders given to ICE and CBP agents even over the last four weeks. Why would the White House continue to escalate in the face of rising public opposition? One answer is that they’re fanatics and true believers. But a complementary explanation is this belief in escalation dominance. It may not be popular but they believe public resisters will eventually have to knuckle under. So they’re happy to keep escalating. Because they have more and bigger guns and eventually those who oppose them will have to give in. I don’t think that’s the case. But I’m pretty sure they do.
Re: Understanding the US - Again
The comparison with Kashmir is misplaced as nothing compares to crazed peaceful jihadis. Also, Multiple videos are showing that Pretti was disarmed before he was shot. US law enforcement is historically trigger happy and ICE even more so.Vayutuvan wrote: ↑25 Jan 2026 02:52 Looks like some people here on BRF want CBP and others to become more like Indian soldiers in Kashmir during the Islamist riots. Maybe some people just want the US to be so preoccupied in its own internal problems that it stops meddling in other countries affairs. Is it immoral if US has been doing exactly the same or worse to other countries all along?

Not at all. That said, we don't want them to do the same to India—case in point - Trudeau. We need to stop Soros types from meddling in the affairs of India. I don't mind using the US' shoulder to bring them down.
As someone quipped to me before, "It is idiotic to think that your enemy's enemy is your friend," forgetting that they themselves are as idiotic. Their thinking is that "Trump's enemy will be Hindu-American and India's friend".

Did he have an encounter with the LEOs before the final takedown? In Renee's case, her vehicle was parked with the front of her vehicle obstructing traffic in a one-way street for 15-20 minutes. The vehicle was positioned in such a way that had she accelerated without turning the wheel, she would have gone against the traffic.

Nope he did not have a prior encounter with ICE. Video's clearly showed the 10 seconds it took from the agents approaching him, escalating the fight and executing him. Clear as day and night. This after he did not brandish a gun, and after the other agent took his gun away, they shot him.

In 2021, the MN Dept. of Education suspected fraud and they started the investigation. since 2021, state has been working with the FBI, and local police informants. In September, 2022, federal prosecutors made public that they handed down indictments in what they believed was a criminal fraud conspiracy. One of the first to be indicted was Aimee Bock, the fraud ringleader. She was tried and convicted in March of 2025.

Also important to note that the Governors office tried to stop payments to FOF recipients in 2021, but the courts ordered the payments to continue. The judge contested this but in the 2021 order, Guthmann held state officials in contempt for failing to process 143 applications from Feeding Our Future for new meal sites. The judge ordered the agency to pay Feeding Our Future more than $47,000 as both a fine and reimbursement for attorneys' fees.
Fraud happened and when it was discovered, it was being addressed in courts, even way before this shitshow unleashed by pedo donny and his supporters.
This entire thing is happening because everyone knows trump pedophilia is covered in the epstein files and he and his supporters are using this as a headfake for the mid-terms.

Mayor Jake got his warchest filled just in time for 2028.The organization was founded by Aimee Bock in 2016, and repeatedly applied for grants from the state of Minnesota, but was rejected due to allegations of mismanagement and abuses.[1] In July 2019, months before the COVID-19 pandemic, Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) officials identified early signs of fraud, including meal claims they considered implausible. According to former state employees, Bock pressured workers who raised questions within weeks of the organization's first submissions, and officials began documenting her "concerning behavior". Before the pandemic, Feeding Our Future billed the state for approximately $3.4 million.[3]
The organization's tax status as a nonprofit was revoked by the IRS in February 2020.[1] After the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and a large increase in the amount of federal aid available, Feeding Our Future applied to receive funding to provide meals to school children, as schools were closed.[1][4] MDE began giving the organization substantial grants after Feeding Our Future threatened legal action against the state.[1][4] Ultimately, after MDE began delaying responses to Feeding Our Future's grant applications, the organization sued the state in November 2020, arguing that it was being discriminated against "because of race, national origin, color, and religion."[5]
Around the same time, the MDE raised concerns of fraud with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the FBI began investigating in February 2021.[1][4] Bock maintained ties with local politicians, including Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey and state senator Omar Fateh.[6][7] An aide of Frey's, Abdi Salah, ultimately pled guilty to wire fraud; Frey stated he was unaware of Salah's activities.[8][6] Another supporter was Minneapolis council member Jamal Osman, whose wife operated a Feeding Our Future meal site which received more than $400,000 in funding.[9][10]

This gives all the shady stuff that went on in MN. It is highly unlikely that Walz, Omar, and Frey were not getting some cut out of the money that was pilfered and they did not know about it.
It is quite possible that Walz ordered MDE to stop payments to FOF because Frey was not coughing up the cut he was promised.

I am not so sure of that. This looks more like a politician strengthening their appeal by fulfilling an election promise. What's surprising in the entire affair is how peaceful things are although the population is generally armed due to the 2nd amendment.
Because, for one, child marriage remains legal in the United States. The voter's aversion to pedophilia is therefore "flexible" at best, in that pedophilia is fine long as it comes with a ring around it.
For another. several prominent democrats have been connected to Epstein in the documents as well. There's enough there then to muddy the waters.

Also, retardlicans are famous for their pedophilia. Every few days you have a prominent conservative/retardlican that is arrested over these charges and these guys cannot stop themselves. The list and the people from this in group who are arrested is just mind numbing.

Anything is possible, but I bet my money that Walz, and Frey are not getting a cut. In fact, even though trump admin is forcefully trying to open a new investigation, I will also bet that it goes no where and will be pretty much used only to drumbeat the "specter" of corruption.Vayutuvan wrote: ↑25 Jan 2026 05:56 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020s_Min ... d_scandals
