Here is the full list of awards for outstanding performance of cricketers (both Men/Women) in all age group competitions Domestic and International cricket.

All that changed with the 1983 win and 1987 World Cup in India. Rural boys who were talented started getting chances. With IPL and money pouring in there is no dearth of talent in the country coming from the hinterlands.
As many commentrators have alluded to, India can now enter two (if Not three) teams to every ICC trounament who are capable of competing with the best in the world, and still have sufficient bench strenght for injury substitution.
And there are more rags to riches stories than bolloywood masala nonsense : Pathan brothers, Siraj, Jaiswal just to name a few.
And the key thing is unlike some erstwhile players these boys have head screwed the right way, do not loose their ways and do not forget their roots.
Yes there are always exceptions like : Sadanand Vishwanath, Vinod Kambli or recent Prithvi Shaw. But by and large they have sufficient friends and family to support. And I believe, the support staff at BCCI and IPl are doing a tremendous job in providing Pastoral Support to the young minds.
With this I believe, the future is very bright for Indian cricket.!!
