Even as I was typing the post I realised I saw him somewhere -sure enough, he is in this photo as well.
Sid,
The su-7 pilot was Sqn Ldr S V Bhutani - he was taken Prisoner but was liberated when Dacca fell.

Hey In this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTYNZKBkzN0
at 3:51 it says B-05 CML, which is clearly the one shown near sagarika annexe. IS that a universal launcher or is it for brahmos cruise missiles only?

Sanjay, if you have his name & data, BR itself may have the specifics. Otherwise, amarjawan should have it.Sanjay M wrote:I had an uncle who was shot down over Pakistan in 1971, although I don't know what the exact date was. His body was never recovered. CML speaks for itself, but I think this is a prototype TEL. A functional one would have a quad pack or a few per launcher.ranganathan wrote:Hey In this video

Those are incredible. Looking at the Agni rail TEL, and thinking that any inocuous looking dingy shed on the side of some non-descript village could be housing India's second strike. And the IR network is chock full of non descript dingy sheds on the side of the tracks all over India...csharma wrote:Amazing videos of agni, akash and other indigenous stuff.

The Brahmos mobility trials show that the TELs would be able to handle the difficult roads in the NE.
For time being forget LCA's.
See how C-130's are built. Probably never posted before.

Any jingoes in Canada catch Jetstream on Discovery Channel? Cool show, although too bad it isn't on Discovery HD.
This coming Tuesday is the final episode. Here is the website:

What really surprised me was the incredibly steep learning curve for new Canadian fighter jocks. I only saw bits and pieces of Udaan via clips on the internet so never got a true grasp of the IAF's training regime. Did they mention how long an IAF pilot is given to earn his wings on a real fighter after he/she graduates from the Kiran's?

Hyperbaric chamber is used for decompression sickness. Like when divers surface fast, nitrogen dissolved in their blood bubbles up into their joints causing "the bends". So they spend some time in a chamber which is pressurized and breathe pure oxygen.csharma wrote:Kashsoldier has reuploaded the Agni and Akash videos. He has edited some scenes.

Every time I see the ASPL mobility tests, I am in seventh heaven. They should paint the entire thing brown and green camo and hide it behind the dunes to give a "mubarak" to our eastern friends.
Wonder how many atlantiques they want to fly this side of the border.
