I am a regular visitor to the UK (at least once a year). Usually on casual (lite work + leisure) visits. I have never yet faced a situation that might be construed as being one where I was the object of "racism". I generally find brits, especially those under 50, to be very sociable, neutral, friendly and engaging people. No more or less flawed than any other.

Usually people who come for light visit or short stay will never experience this. It also depends on social circle you are moving with. If your circle is well educated and businessmen ish, you may never find a straight racism (this is because they will be f***ed by law and life ruined if they are caught in racism), however if you stay much longer, you may face overt racism in workplace by hinderance in professional ladder by someway or other (either by getting assigned to trivial jobs or jobs which are not your skills area), i have known this on my conversations with umpteen people ranging from prince to paupers in UK services industry. Not one of them have ever complained out of fear. The matter of fact is multiculturalism promoted by Brown is failing miserably.

I agree with this. Racism is found everywhere, but I think Americans or other Europeans are more blunt and straightforward so you know where they stand. English people tend to seem nicer than they really are as their culture places lot of importance on formality and politeness.

Also a lot of English people are nice to you so long as they perceive you as a Gunga Din type. Its when you are smarter, more articulate and more competent than them that their behavior changes.

I have generally found Scottish and Irish people much more open and easy to get along with.

Ashish, I was just outlining my personal experience. I do know that people in positions of relative power do attempt to keep those less powerful down on the basis of colour, ethnic origin, etc., in England. It happens elsewhere too.

The importance is that there should be legal recourse if power is exercised in this discriminatory fashion. Such recourse is available in most democracies.

I doubt Brits in general today are as "racist" as many other countries, inlcuding other European democracies. But that is a personal opinion.

Racism, is always going to be there in every country, it is just the extent of racism. I think everyone is racist in their own way.

Very true. But it does not fit into the character of "Moral science teachers from the West" who frequently projects itself as racism free society when it is not, it can be said it is well hidden under the carpet at every level in the society.

I'm still not getting a sense of exactly what Indians in the UK are up against.

It may be that Indian workers are less likely to be made managers in many anglo-saxon countries. In my experience, some white males competing to get into management feel somewhat threatened by non-white workers with good English skills who are hard working.

One I had encountered who was already in management had a scheme going to actively push out of the company any one he saw as competition. He'd not increase the wages of those who had worked there for years, he hired new (clueless) people and put them in senior positions of 'management' to cause demoralisation among those who had worked there for years hoping to rise up the ladder so that they would leave the company.

Such scoundrels exists among all races not just whites. If you are an Indian looking to get into management, a white guy is more likely to get promoted ahead of you. Slick talkers rise up the ladder faster despite their lack of skills. This is an unfortunate reality you have to deal with but the deal isn't half way bad for Indians.

Nobody has it worse than black people. They get shaft wherever they go. I was once on a train crossing the US border. The train was stopped for a routine immigration/drug check. Of all the people on the train wagon in which I was in, the only one who got their bags searched was a black woman travelling alone. I don't think that was any co-incidence. The lady officer who searched her was all polite and stuff. But who can come away from that without getting the implied meaning of it.

I would suggest that Indians should jump into it only if they find the deal economically sweet and not a status symbol, otherwise they will experience the same problems investors faced in US. We still don't understand the anglo-saxon game, and I would consider it as an attempt to route Indian wealth into UK.

Good point! India is not benefiting from Mittal's billions. Disposable Indian money should only go to those countries that are friendly towards Inida. I surely hope UK will become more friendly towards India. We share many values; English, Democracy, Polo, Cricket and last but not least the Curry. :)

Leave the US out of it. Restrict that list to UK, Australia and Canada. Canada anyways is Soviet Canuckistan , a socialist wasteland with high unemployment and little prospects beyond being a source of raw materials for the US. Any sensible Canadian that I know of has his backsides well covered by sinking roots of any kind (family, business, property) in the US. A very Indian unfriendly country

UK.. well. What can I say about it. They saved their backsides by selling themselves off to the Americans. They make nothing, they sell nothing except the oil they pump out of the North Sea. The Financial services stuff too is heavily American dominated. UK is the "Dubai" (as in the free trade /entreport sense) of Europe and it is useful as the "unsinkable" Aircraft carrier in Europe. On top of that a "oh so superior" racist attitude to boot , still head stuck up their backsides and imagining it is the 19th century and not the 21st.

Same with Australia .. Massive resources. Make and sell nothing , except what they get out of the earth.. And Aircraft carrier for Unkil in APAC. As for Australians, the casual racism on the streets are unimaginable. At least the Brits are civilized and cultured. Culture , civilization etc are things that Australia simply missed out on. The one thing that characterizes that place best is uncouthness.

These countries i.e UK, Canada and Australia are the "satellites" of Unkil. Now why do you want to deal with the dogs ,when you deal with their master ? . They go yip..yipp every now and then . and the "master" gives them a kick in the sides and they fall in line.

Give these poodles some more time to do their yip.yipp..yipp. The writing is on the wall. In another 15 to 20 years time, they will come crawling on their knees. They know very well which side of the bread is buttered. They did the same thing with US in the 20th century, when they knew that the 19th century game was up with Brittania.

Three Cal pre-med students to traverse India in a motorized rickshaw
By Kristin Bender

BERKELEY — Forget what you've seen on television, this truly may be the Amazing Race.

Three University of California, Berkeley pre-med students will spend the first two weeks of June traveling about 2,400 miles across India — in a three-wheeled motorized rickshaw, known colloquially as an autorickshaw. It's not the leg-powered wooden kind that looks like a big tricycle. The one they will use looks more like a tall, narrow golf cart with room for three. It maxes out at about 35 mph.

Brian Wong, 22, Sonny Sabhlok and Allen Rodriguez, both 21, have entered the Rickshaw Run and hope to guide their donated autorickshaw, India's version of the taxi cab, about 150 miles a day from Kathmandu, Nepal to Pondicherry, a small town on the southern coast of India.

There is no set route. No hotel reservations and certainly no support van carrying food and water or spare autorickshaw parts.

It will be three determined guys (only one of whom has even been to India before) and their autorickshaw against deadly roads, chickens, oxen, herds of goats, monkeys, water buffalo, elephants, cows, pigs, bald eagles and masses and masses of people everywhere. It's also the beginning of monsoon season and oh yes, temperatures reaching into the 120s.

Why are they doing this?

"We wanted to do some post-graduation travel, but we've grown tired of the normal tour-based, guide-led, itinerary-following packages
Advertisement
that are common today. We wanted true adventure and an event that would be as eye-opening and life-changing as it is risky and outright stupid,'' said Brian Wong, the group's ringleader who his graduating this month with a degree in cognitive science and hopes to go to medical school.

There are no requirements for entering the Rickshaw Run except every team must raise at least $2,000 for charity. Money will go to Mercy Corps India, which provides health and economic support to those below India's poverty line ($13 a day), which is about 300 million people. They also provide schooling, aid for those with AIDS/HIV, and work to improve sanitation measures.

Money will also go to the Frank Waters Project, which works to build new, clean water supplies where they are most needed and to encourage community members to maintain the facility. At the ending point, all the autorickshaws are also donated to Indian people in need.

The Berkeley men are one of four teams from the United States among 70 competing from across the globe.

The team is called the Korma Police and is a play on the song "Karma Police'' by the band Radiohead, Wong said.

"Korma is an Indian dish, so take Radiohead and add one cup coconut milk and you get Korma Police. All the other team names tend to be puns of some sort relating to Indian culture (too),'' Wong said.

The Rickshaw Run is organized by a company called The Adventurists, a British outfit that doesn't sugarcoat what it will take to complete the 2,400 miles in an autorickshaw in two weeks.

"The Rickshaw Run is an adventure, not flowery driving tour for ninnies,'' their Web site tells competitors "You don't want us to tell you where to sleep every night or you won't end up in the sort of situation that makes these trips worthwhile. Waking up in an ants' nest, spending the night with accommodating locals, sleeping upright in your rickshaw, nestled up to the alpha male of a troop of monkeys — ahhh the stuff of bliss.''

The Rickshaw Run takes place twice a year in India — once in the summer and once in the winter.

Participants pay their own expenses.

Michael Cogliantry, a 34-year-old New Yorker and professional photographer, participated with two colleagues in the event in the winter of 2006-07. He and his buddies, who are both art directors, photographed the journey and Cogliantry self-published "India,'' a photography book about the experience. His trip started in Cochin, a town in southern India and was set to end in Hyderabad about 1,242 miles away. But the threesome only made it about halfway because they stopped to "look around a lot and took a lot of photos.'' Cogliantry said the scariest part of the trip was driving through the mountains.

"The roads are very, very narrow and there is really no sense of right-of-way. You've got a lot of buses and giant trucks coming around corners. My impression is no one is really afraid to die there,'' he said.

He said he also found — through the trip — that India is a country full of contradiction, chaos and mystery.

"India definitely is the most unique place I think I've ever been. The extremes of what you are seeing are amazing. Whatever parameters you have for highs and lows, India expands those. You will see the most beautiful temple and the colorful way people are dressed and then you turn around and see someone lying on the ground and you wonder if they are dead. It gave (me) a perspective that I never had before.''

Asked what advice he'd give the Cal trio, he said, "You really just need to surrender yourself to this country.''

Rodriguez, the last to join team Korma Police, said he is ready. "I'm just really excited,'' he said. "It's so fun having the open road ahead of you, some friends, some music and not knowing what's next,'' he said.

The three plan to blog the trip at Internet cafes, which are said to be as readily available as bottled water.

When it's all over, there isn't big prize money or even a trophy for the winner.

"Once the finish is reached by all, a winner will be decided by arbitrary means and much pomp and handshaking will commence. After this wondrous occasion, the closing game of cricket will be played followed by tea and cakes,'' the company Web site states.

Wong said it doesn't matter if they win. He and his friends are in it for the experience. "It's definitely something I'll be able to tell the grandkids about but I'm definitely more enthusiastic about the two weeks we'll be there. I definitely expect it to change us as people.''

For more information or to read about the trip on the team's blog go to www.rickshawrun.com/kormapolice or www.kormapolice.vox.com. To donate to their fundraising effort, e-mail [email protected].

MUSLIM MAN KIDNAPS 14 YR OLD BRITISH GIRL FOR SEX

The exploitation by muslim men of young British girls continues. Abdul Rashid has pled guilty to abducting a mere child with the intent of having sex with the girl. Clearly this is not only a case of kidnapping with intent to rape but also, due to the victims young age, paedophelia.

British children's heads are swimming with school taught "kumbaya" multicultural propaganda thus they are have no sense of threat when muslim predators lure them into cars and back lots. Perhaps some are even worried about being accused of racism for viewing these men as threats to safety. Why not? When so many adults, that children see and hear, voice the same racist label paranoia.

This continued lack of caution is particularly alarming in light of the recent exposure of muslim men plying very young Yorkshire girls with drugs and liquor then having sex with the girls and passing them around to muslim friends - Overblown political correctness and fears of being labeled a racist or upsetting the muslim community left these Yorkshire girls wide open to abuse and played a major role in the failure of the police and public officials to address the egregious problem and help the girls in a timely manner.------------------ LINK-------------

"Parents have complained that in parts of the country with large Asian communities white girls as young as 12 are being targeted for sex by older Asian men yet the authorities are unwilling to act because of fears of being labelled racist.

Ann Cryer, a Labour member of the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee, has been at the forefront of attempting to tackle the problem after receiving complaints from mothers in her constituency about young Asian men targeting their under-age daughters.

Although campaigners claim that hundreds of young girls are already being passed around men within the Asian community for sex, she said that attempts to raise the problem with community leaders had met with little success, with most of them being in a state of denial about it. "

Many muslim men, on the other hand, live on a one way street regarding "multiculuralism" = THEIR way. These men feel that they have a Quranic right to the kafir's women and girls - the Quran/Islam on muslim men having sex with the female kafir or non-muslim girls says:

"Islam gives an open license to Muslim men to have sexual intercourse with women as long as these women are not Muslims and/or when these Muslim men are living in an infidel country." Link

There is more than enough evidence that the police, and others who have contact with young women, should be constantly vigilant to the threat that muslim men pose to abusing vulnerable non muslim young girls. Political correctness has NO business placing anyone in harm's way. Nor should we allow our law enforcement and politicians to use these timorous "sticks and stones" political correctness based excuses to rationalize their inaction to protect our children. After all - our children's lives are at stake.

Raju, Please, get a grip on yourself. Such kind of racist scare mongering and innuendos bordering on the ridiculous are just too much. Why "label" and "stigmatize" an entire religious community for the depraved and simply ridiculous acts of a few.

You know as well as anyone else, that the vast majority of muslims anywhere don't think and operate on these lines. They are just as normal as anyone else.. Why equate the Talibunny and Murderous Pakis and their equivalent ilk in the Arab world with everyone else ?

True, the Muslim world does have serious broader issues.. particularly with the inability to isolate and snuff out the lunatic fringe , with the consequence being that it gets to carry the cross for the actions of said fringe. But what you are talking about and imputing is in no way true or fair.

What you posted were criminal acts. It doesn't matter whether it was done by a muslim or other , white or black or brown. They should be treated as criminal acts as such.

And frankly, giving "Airtime" and "Forum" for such over the top and outrageous rubbish doesn't reflect well on you and also frankly BR as well if degenerates into becoming a forum for such rubbish.

Raju, case in point, this kind of article in NY Times.. Look at the "simplicity" of it all.. Esp, the point about "Guards in Islamic countries protecting Obama, would themselves be committing a sin"..

This of course assumes that all folks in Islamic countries cannot apply their minds at all, and as if , that the dogma handed down by the literal interpretations of the Quran will reign supreme. Of course, everyone anywhere in the world is lot more nuanced than that !..

While I agree with the Obama will really not improve relations with Islamic countries part , (just as a Jindal as VP wouldn't with India..) I disagree about the "religion" part of it.

President Apostate?

Chevy Chase, Md.

BARACK OBAMA has emerged as a classic example of charismatic leadership — a figure upon whom others project their own hopes and desires. The resulting emotional intensity adds greatly to the more conventional strengths of the well-organized Obama campaign, and it has certainly sufficed to overcome the formidable initial advantages of Senator Hillary Clinton.

One danger of such charisma, however, is that it can evoke unrealistic hopes of what a candidate could actually accomplish in office regardless of his own personal abilities. Case in point is the oft-made claim that an Obama presidency would be welcomed by the Muslim world.

This idea often goes hand in hand with the altogether more plausible argument that Mr. Obama’s election would raise America’s esteem in Africa — indeed, he already arouses much enthusiasm in his father’s native Kenya and to a degree elsewhere on the continent.

But it is a mistake to conflate his African identity with his Muslim heritage. Senator Obama is half African by birth and Africans can understandably identify with him. In Islam, however, there is no such thing as a half-Muslim. Like all monotheistic religions, Islam is an exclusive faith.

As the son of the Muslim father, Senator Obama was born a Muslim under Muslim law as it is universally understood. It makes no difference that, as Senator Obama has written, his father said he renounced his religion. Likewise, under Muslim law based on the Koran his mother’s Christian background is irrelevant.

Of course, as most Americans understand it, Senator Obama is not a Muslim. He chose to become a Christian, and indeed has written convincingly to explain how he arrived at his choice and how important his Christian faith is to him.

His conversion, however, was a crime in Muslim eyes; it is “irtidadâ€

Ok. Loutish Paki Thugs.. So what does "Islam's" value system have to do with it ?.. I am sure that doing such a thing in any muslim country would be a criminal offense as well..(even when the girls werent muslim).. I think we need to separate basic criminality from the broader religion.

Yeah, the Pakis using Islam as a cloak for all their barbarism of all kinds is another matter altogether..

Scotland is pressing ahead with plans to seperate from United Kingdom.

http://news.scotsman.com/scottishindepe ... 3305505.jp

Sir John Elvidge told The Scotsman he is pressing ahead with plans for a separate civil service in Scotland.
The country's most senior civil servant has disclosed that the election of the SNP has brought an end to the informal contacts that used to be commonplace between the Scottish Executive and UK government.

United Kingdom was an English imposed united kingdom to begin with. Scottish and other members of the kingdom were never treated as equal partners. I think it is a good move on the part of Scottish people to take their destiny into their own hands. I wish them all the luck.

Scotland is hardly breaking away from England. She is looking for more regional autonomy within the context of the UK and EU. This is a common theme right across europe, and will almost certainly include Wales and possibly Northern England as separate administrative regions.

As political power is centralised in larger entities, regions tend to want more say in the smaller, local issues. This is a natural pattern. More like federation, less like disintegration.

This pattern is likely to be repeated in Spain, Belgium and possibly other countries too. Soon, the EU will start to resemble the US administrative structure, or perhaps even India!

Britain, India to co-produce 10 films in two years
NEW DELHI: Britain and India on Monday signed a treaty to co-produce films and the two countries are expected to make as many as 10 movies within the first two years.

"Britain is seen as the world's number one market for Bollywood productions outside India. With Britain-India film co-production agreement, the opportunities for Indo-British partnerships in the film industry are sure to increase," said Creon Butler, British Deputy High Commissioner, in a press statement.

The treaty will also contribute significantly to the strengthening of the skills base in India and Britain.

In 2005 more than 2.5 million watched Hindi films in Britain and Indian films accounted for over 16 percent of all British releases.

Andy Burnham, the British Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, said: "India and Britain both have vibrant film industries and bringing them together in this way opens the door to some exciting new collaborations. Our countries have close cultural and historical connections and it is great that our film industries will be able to work more closely together to develop this further."

Negotiations on the detailed annex to this agreement have now been completed. Once constitutional procedures have been completed in both countries, the agreement will come into force.

This treaty with India is Britain's seventh bi-lateral co-production treaties.
How about movies on Bengal Famine / Jalian wala Bagh / 1857 post riots massacre ??

I would pay legitimate Paki rupees to watch such kind of movies.

This is not a good development. The Goras are reaching out and inserting their tentacles in every influential area of our society, the areas where traditionally foriegners are unwelcome -- writing Indian history, making our movies, funding NGOs and infiltrating academicians to study and interpret our society for us. What is the motive of these Anglo Saxons that they are focussing so much on India for these "partnerships"?

Do we now expect Indo-British movies on the plight of Dalits, caste system, female infanticide, oppression of minorities, Hindu fundamentalism, biased history and Naxals as local heroes? I hope the Indian government has inserted a provision in this agreement for prior script approval.

There is no paranoia, but caution and discretion seeing the past record of Goras and their psyops on other societies. I am amazed that you think they are doing this for money. Just making 10 films in India is not going to make them richer. Bollywood's earnings are not even five percent of Hollywood. The money is there, not here. Going by your logic of people making movies for India to make money, what will you do if Pakistan government wants to make ten movies for India on Kargil or partition? Will you still argue that the Pakee govt. is trying to make money to bridge its budget deficit?

Goras have a long history of causing social turmoil by pitting one group of people against another. Read more about how they engineered a civil war between Hutus and Tutsis of Rwanda. They used the same tactics -- writing their mischevious history and them disseminating it at every forum to brainwash the masses. Once the people were raised to a frenzy of hate, they managed to genocide nine million -- this when Hutus and Tutsis had absolutely no history of friction for the last 500 years and used to intermarry.

Films are a powerful medium of mass brainwashing. Take the case of the recent "Shaurya" by a Muslim director, where army is shown discriminating against Muslim officers. The movie comes only after two years of the demand being raised for Muslim reservation in the army. Coincidence? Yeah. I am paranoid.

What about Rang De Basanti, by another Muslim director? It shows saffron wearing people as villains, and there is the message in the end that the youth should rise in revolt and eliminate them. Coincidence?

There is another Hollywood film being shot with Indian actors showing Jesus roaming India, asking Brahmins not to oppress the Dalits. It will be released next year. Coincidence?

Cannot you see that movie themes sustained over a long time are a powerful medium of social engineering, and if a foriegn power known for its mischief everywhere wants to make ten films for your country, you won't be even bothered to check the script? Why? Where has liberalism come into this? If the scripts are harmless and pure song-and-dance entertainment, then give permission to Goras to go ahead with the movies. But if there are subtle undercurrents of social messages to increase animosity between various groups in India (Hindu-MUslim, Hindu-Sikhs, high caste-low caste) or malign some group (Brahmins, Hindu fundamentalists, BJP), then you should understand the game and tell Goras to screw themselves.

Only the paranoid survive. Liberals societies are easy prey for predators. Just as you are curious about my paranoia, I am curious about the scripts for those ten films.
Hollywood movie on Jesus in India

November 21st, 2007

Hollywood is all set to make a movie on the trails of Jesus during the years of Jesus’ life between the ages of 13 and 30 which are missing in the Bible.

It tells a tale of the Christ’s journey across the country, living in Buddhist monasteries and speaking out against the iniquities of the caste system. The result is an action-packed adventure movie ‘Aquarian Gospel’, which portrays Jesus as a holy man and teacher inspired by a myriad of eastern religions.â€

Indira Gandhi was called paranoid by those around her. Apparently she also was the last Prime Minister to stoutly defend Indian intersts.

Today we have the 'confident' (about India's position in the world), Manmohan Singh.

Too bad there was nobody that time to tell this to people who mocked her. I call this wisdom by hindsight.

i dont profess to having any wisdom, however i do try to understand what is happening in the world around me. i don't pretend for one moment that the world is a benign place - plenty of people around to eat your lunch

what is required is objectivity in thinking rather than blanket assumptions

The duke hints that curbing family sizes may be the best means of keeping the soaring cost of staple food products, such as bread and rice, in check.
Taking the duke's advice, may I recommend castration of white males on a large scale, as a solution to the food crisis?

It is the innate racism of these people high up in the chain that filters down to those in the lower rungs of the society and western media.

The thing to note is that none of the girls were assaulted. Police says these Asian men were going to have sex with those girls. I think the UK police is lying. Seems like a cheap tactics to malign the Asians of UK.

What is UK police doing to catch the culprits of a murdered Indian from Andhra Pradesh? His relatives should put a dharana on UK high commission.

Triple Cross: How Britain Created the Arab-Israel Conflict
Link

I hope that no one will mistake me for an enemy of the British people. I lived in London for six months, and I have been a frequent visitor to England. I can testify to the warmth, hospitality, courtesy, and friendliness of her people. A foreigner staying as the guest of an English friend is cosseted as if he or she were a long-lost niece or nephew. It is easy to strike up a conversation with a total stranger in a public place who quickly becomes a friend. When one is boarding a train with a heavy bag, there is always someone willing to help you get your bag in it before the train leaves (this too rarely happens Stateside). When one gives an Englishman or Englishwoman a tip for services, he or she usually says thank you and smiles -- a man will even doff his cap to you when tipped. Even taxi-drivers are friendly and helpful. They go so far as to entertain their fares with jokes and puns. Try to find a taxi-driver like that in New York!

Nevertheless, some members of Britain's still extant class structure reveal a darker side to the British national character. Her "chattering classes," as the British call them -- journalists, academics, writers, "talking heads" and "intellectuals" -- include in their ranks all too many people who are moralistic, self-righteous and judgmental without being genuinely ethical. Many (of course, by no means all) of the people in these classes are quick to express indignation at the alleged misdeeds of others, while ignoring the principles expressed in Lincoln's formula, "with malice toward none and charity toward all," or the New Testament saying, "judge not that you be not judged," and in the Talmudic saying, "judge no man until you have stood in his shoes." Rather, these classes are subject to what Lord Byron called "fits of morality" that are arbitrary, capricious, extremely selective, and vindictive.

If the British chattering classes have their shortcomings, they are still not as severe as that of Britain's politicians and "civil servants" (read "bureaucrats") who specialize in foreign and colonial policy. All too many British officials in these branches of the government (again, not by any means all) speak the language of morality (phrases like "a sacred trust" come easily to their lips) while pursuing what they regard as the interests of the British Empire (now disguised as the British Commonwealth) by any and all means, including lies, deceit, trickery and broken promises. It is these officials who, through the centuries, have won for Britain the venerable ignominious epithet "perfidious Albion."

Outside of the Muslim countries, no press in the world is as biased, as unfair, and as dishonest and vindictive towards Israel as the British press. The BBC and the newspapers The Guardian and The Independent take the lead in relentlessly vilifying the Jewish state, but Sky News, Reuters, The Economist and numerous other major media outlets do not lag far behind them in their race to see which can defame and malign Israel the most. Israel is incessantly castigated as an imperialist and colonialist power whose people stole their country from its "indigenous" and rightful owners, the "Palestinians."{But we don't see a similar sympathy for secular India and against the Bakis for stealing land from the yindoos and sikhs. And no comments on Bakis to move to their rightful place Arabia.}

That the press of a country that at one time or another conquered a substantial chunk of the entire world by the most ruthless and deceitful means imaginable (consider, for example, Sir Walter Raleigh's frank account of the murderous treachery that he employed to seize Trinidad from the Spanish, or Sir Francis Drake's ruthless plundering of the Spanish colonies) should castigate as colonialist, imperialist and racist a country that, even including the "occupied" territories, is only the size of Wales -- which, by the way, is yet another country that England conquered in a series of brutal wars -- is hard to fathom. So is the British press's outrage at Israel's "undemocratic" rule over perhaps a million and a half Arabs, when Britain ruled for centuries in the most autocratic manner hundreds of millions of subjects, many more people than lived in Britain itself, to whom it gave no democratic rights whatsoever. Britain only surrendered this Empire when it was bankrupt after two world wars, and no longer had the means to hold onto it. Even then, she surrendered it only under intense prodding from the United States, whose help she absolutely needed to rebuild her shattered economy and defend herself.

Yet the press and government of this nation that ruled vast territories thousands of miles from its own shores, countries that posed no threat whatsoever to Britain, have the gall to condemn Israel for maintaining a few checkpoints in the "Palestinian" territories, located only a few miles or in some cases only a few yards from her major population centers, in order to prevent terrorists from bringing bombs into these population centers and using them to murder thousands of Israelis. And they have the gall to call these checkpoints an "occupation," even after Israel unilaterally handed over most populated areas of the "occupied" territories (whose total size, in any case, is only equal to that of the English suburban county of Sussex) to her enemies, in a vain attempt to make peace with them.

The British press creates the impression that Britain has no connection to "Palestine" except as a sympathetic observer of the suffering of its Arab inhabitants at the hands of "Zionism." One would never guess from reading it that it was not so long ago that Britain ruled Palestine, or that she set in motion the Arab-Israel conflict in the first place, or that the conflict would not even exist without decades of British broken promises and odious divide-and rule maneuvers in the Middle East.

Britain conquered Palestine from the Turks in 1917-18. First Her Majesty's Government promised Palestine to the Jews in the Balfour Declaration in 1917, and then again in the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine of 1922, in which it solemnly accepted as "a sacred trust of civilization" to "be responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home." Then it repudiated that promise in a "White Paper" of 1939, which announced her intention to allow only 75,000 Jewish immigrants into Palestine over the next five years (this as World War II and the Holocaust was just beginning) and after that to allow no further Jewish immigration without Arab consent. The White Paper also placed severe restrictions on the purchase of land by Jews. And it promised the Palestinian Arabs that Palestine would become an independent Arab state within ten years. All this was in flagrant violations of the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine; the League of Nations Mandates Commission noted this, and refused to ratify the White Paper. Britain implemented it anyway -- to the extent of refusing to admit to Palestine 750 Jews who had managed to escape Nazi Europe in a leaky boat while the Holocaust was in full swing. The Jews were forced to turn back into the human-shark-infested waters of the Black Sea, where their leaky crate was torpedoed, and all but one of them killed.

Other Jews who managed to reach the shores of Palestine were deported by the British Navy to the remote island of Mauritius and kept in a detention camp, where many of them died of disease before finally being released after the end of the war. This British measure was strangely reminiscent of an earlier Nazi plan to deport the Jews of Europe to Madagascar, a larger island in the Indian Ocean not far from Mauritius. Still the British detained other Jews who managed to board ships bound for Palestine for years in camps on Cyprus. This was the way His Majesty's Government kept its promises to the Jews.

Having already promised Palestine to both the Jews and the Palestinian Arabs, Britain after World War II promised it again, this time to Syria! Secret British correspondence, recently discovered by an Israeli scholar, not in the archives of Britain but in those of France, which intercepted British and Syrian communications through espionage, reveals that the British promised to hand over Palestine to Syria in return for making Britain Syria's "protector" to replace France. The British even assisted the Syrians to carry out a massacre of French civilians and soldiers in order to force France out of Syria.

Britain encouraged the Arab states to form an "Arab League" as World War II came to an end. A British representative sat in on the League's meetings and raised no objections as the Arab states planned to invade Palestine -- even though Palestine was still under British control!

In 1947, Britain referred Palestine to the United Nations and asked it to find a solution to the conflict between Jews and Arabs in Palestine that Britain had done so much to foster through its contradictory promises to both sides. When the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution recommending that Palestine be partitioned into separate and independent Jewish and Arab states, His Majesty's Government, through its representative in the United Nations, solemnly promised to help implement the resolution, even though it had not voted for it.

Instead, the British sabotaged the resolution in every way possible. It refused even to allow the commission that had been appointed by the United Nations General Assembly to oversee implementation of the partition resolution into the country. On the other hand, it permitted the Arab states to send troops into Palestine under the guise of "volunteers," even before the British administration had completed its withdrawal from the country. It stood aside and did nothing to preserve order as war raged throughout the country and thousands of both Jews and Arabs were killed, even though it nominally retained responsibility for the administration of Palestine until May 15, 1948. Worst of all, it withdrew its administration without appointing or recognizing any government, Jewish or Arab, to take its place, or organizing any kind of successor administration. In an unprecedented act in the history of colonialism, the British simply withdrew, leaving the country that they had misgoverned for thirty years in total chaos. One British author has called this bizarre act an "experiment in anarchy." Another has characterized British policy in Palestine as "divide and lose."

Britain's two-faced machinations did not prevent Israel from winning the independence that the Jews had been promised, but only at the cost of thousands of lives, and with no help whatsoever from the promise-bearing great power. However, Israel has had to live in a constant state of siege from neighbors who remain at war with her, and who still refuse to allow her the "secure and recognized borders" enjoyed by all other sovereign states in the world.

The Palestinian Arabs never got the state that Britain promised them. Syria never "received" Palestine in accordance with Britain's secret promise, either. First incited to go to war for Palestine, and then left to shift for themselves by their forked-tongued British ‘friends," the Palestinian and Syrian Arabs are still fighting Israel for the land that Britain once promised each of them.

Britain, for her part, has done absolutely nothing to encourage the Arab states to make peace with Israel. Instead, its inflammatory press incessantly incites the Arabs to continue their war of terror against the Jews. The British Foreign Office has done nothing to discourage the British gutter press from indulging in this incendiary propaganda and misinformation campaign. And the BBC, a government owned and controlled station with close ties to the Foreign Office, has actively participated in the hostile propaganda and incitement against Israel, in both its Arabic and English-language services.

It ought not to be forgotten that the British flag consists of a triple cross -- the cross of St. George for England, that of St. Andrew for Scotland, and that of St. Patrick for Ireland (Wales, it would seem, does not even merit a cross!). What a fitting symbol this "Union Jack" is for the nation that triple-crossed the Jewish people, the Arabs of Palestine, and Syria into believing that she would give each of them Palestine, while breaking its promises to all three. It is a trail of broken promises that has led to six decades of seemingly endless war.

my favourite britisher is the paki who felt hungry and feral one evening.
so he captured one of the queen's flock of mute geese and started eating
it raw. police caught him literally with blood on his hands.

may his tribe increase and infest the englishstan
from jihadwatch.org

LONDON -- A Muslim man who was so hungry while fasting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan that he killed a swan to eat was jailed for two months at a court in Britain Wednesday.

Shamsu Miah, 52, killed the mute swan at a boating pond in the north Welsh seaside resort of Llandudno September 25 - only the second day of fasting in Britain.

All mute swans in Britain belong to the sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II, an historical quirk dating from the twelfth century.

When challenged by police, Miah said: "I am a Muslim, I am fasting, I needed to eat."

Llandudno Magistrates Court heard that Miah had blood on his shirt and white feathers in his beard.

Prosecutor Jim Neary said: "When interviewed he said, 'I was hungry, I had to eat the swan so I killed it, I stabbed it. I did nothing wrong, it was just a bird, I needed to eat'."

"The officers told him the swan was the property of the queen and he replied, 'I hate the queen, I hate this country'."

Judge Andrew Shaw told Miah: "You killed a swan at night. It was a cruel and reprehensible act.

"I don't know how it died; there seems to be some speculation that you bit it but I accept you killed it with a knife.

"It is a taboo act and the only sentence I can pass is one of imprisonment."

Miah had pleaded guilty to intentionally killing a wild bird and possessing a bladed article.

He was released from custody having already served his two-month sentence while on remand.
