CNN Watch: Susan Lisovicz, NYSE says that Events has tarnished India's reputation as an economic capital. She mentions that it appears that there is no control in the country.

She also indicates that there will not be a long term impact to Indian economy.

Harik. Ok.

Guys Rampal , Kapoor etc. were more critical of the government and its inaction. The comment about Muslim/Pakistan etc were more like foot-notes. That was not the focus.

IMO, the evidence is simple. There are 150 terror incidents all over the world after 9/11 where Pakistanis have been involved either through manpower, funding or training. Out of all the suspects held at Guantanamo, almost 80% were captured in Pakistan. Almost one-sixth of those held were Pakistanis themselves.

If Pakistan can be involved to that extent in matters far removed from their land, why won't they be involved with their most implacable enemy India ?

I saw on Inxnetwork a estimate from IN that 12-18 boats were used or
maybe return trips by same boats.

and this Russian link perhaps with link to Rus or Israel intel claims 60-70
were in the hit team

and here is how one guy describes his rescue. so clearly some screeing was done to make sure the terrorists just didnt walk out.

At the Oberoi Hotel, at least 25 captives - including two Britons and another clutching a baby - were rushed out and loaded into waiting cars, buses and ambulances.

Mark Abell, a British lawyer, who on Thursday spoke to The Daily Telegraph while barricaded into his hotel room, was among those released. He said: "I'm going home, I'm going to see my wife."

He added: "These people here have been fantastic, the Indian authorities, the hotel staff. I think they are a great advertisement for their country."

Another man, who said he was British but would not give his name, said: "I didn't see anything. I just heard loud blasts. I was in my room. I didn't get out until an hour ago."

Nicole Griffen, another Briton, said she had been rescued by Indian special forces from the Taj Mahal.

She told BBC Radio 5 Live: "They entered and looked through our passports and scouted around to see if there was (anyone) harbouring terrorists or attackers.

"And then we were promptly told where to go by the central stairway and again we were asked to wait with other guests while they checked other floors and checked other rooms and we all congregated into one space where they could protect us centrally."

Where are the 26 ?? this # of 26 should have come out from interrogation of the captured piglets. The total of piglets killed / captured does not add upto 26 - where are the balance ??? still at large ??? wave two ??? I'm worried.
I believed right from the beginning that D was involved. India has been increasing pressure for his repatriation recently. In the last meeting, there was some movement on both countries respecting 'Interpol' redcorner notices.
One thing that comes out of this:

If indeed Dawood is involved in all of this and if some Israelis are indeed though unfortunately killed, consider that pig dead in the near future.

Folks this is not the time to curse and abuse these media/elites but to Identify the fifth column in India. Its not the immediate aftermath but the next 6 months when these vermin will emerge from the woodwork defending the work of their compatriots. They will tell us that these were misguided youths and were themselves victims avenging past injustices against their community. If we are diligent we can use this time to compile the list of people who will always work against the interests of mother India.
These few days have clearly pointed out who bats for India and who does not. The mettle of our political leadership has been tested and found lacking. In 6 months we may get an opportunity at the polls to change some of this. Its now we need to keep compiling the information about these incidents and connect the dots. We know Pakis were involved but besides making a general claim that Kiyani or ISI is to blame can we pinpoint the ISI/PA officer who actually directed this operation and who financed it. We suspect that the D company may be involved but we do not know who among his legion of men actually ferried these men and who provided the local info on the sites. Its time for our intelligence assets to earn their pay. Our job must be to compile this information and bide our time. There will an opportunity to avenge this outrage but that date is not today. Just remember to not let up any pressure on our authorities to act. They need to provide answers and begin to act in our interests. If we keep this pressure for a few weeks they will get the message.

In the channel newsx _which has covered the entire rescue operation very sensibly_ it is clearly mentioned by chief of navy that terrorists had blackberry and getting regular info of the tv news. He also expressed his deep disappointment about the coverage by tv channels which has hampered rescue and more loss of lives-
None of the other channels has

Is this DDM or is this for real?
http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/nov/28m ... israel.htm
India's rescue efforts badly planned, says Israel

Israel ][Who in Israel]has slammed the rescue efforts being undertaken by Indian security forces, to combat terrorists in Mumbai, terming them 'premature and badly planned'.

Israel had offered to help India to resolve the hostage situation in two luxury hotels and a building inhabited by Israelis, but their offer had been turned down, reports The Times [Oh my! then it must be true].

Israel defence official that the security forces had failed to gather sufficient information about the situation before storming the three places under siege, states the report.

It added that the commandos, in their haste, had probably risked the lives of the hostages.

"In hostage situations, the first thing the forces are supposed to do is assemble at the scene and begin collecting intelligence. In this case, it appears that the forces showed up at the scene and immediately began exchanging fire with the terrorists instead of first taking control of the area," the paper quotes a former official in Shin Bet, the Israel Security Agency, as saying. [I am sure when this imaginary official in ShinBet shares the same advice to the forces of Israel, they will politely ask him to shove it]
Israel Defence Minister Ehud Barak has also conveyed his concerns about the safety of Israelis trapped at the Jewish Centre in Nariman House, to the Indian government.

The operation at Nariman House continues with gunshots and explosions being heard at regular intervals. The number of terrorists or hostages inside the building is not known.

The report added that Barak had also offered assistance to National Security Advisor M K Kelath Narayanan.
Besides, does one former official comment makes it the official stand of Israel. People will always find fault and will have differing opinions on how the situation must have been handled.

The Pakistani terrorist captured has given a lot of information.

For example, the TSP Maritime Authorities helped in charting out the route etc. The explosives used have been traced to Pakistan as well. He also said they were in constant touch with their handlers back in TSP as the situation unfolded. GoI is tracing the calls made from their sat phones.

We will get tonloads of info(100 times more info than US can ever collect on Al-Q or Iran/Iraq/N.Korea) but the big Q is: what will we do after that other than giving the "proof sheet" to the Pakis who will wipe their **** with it and throw it away (of course, a few bleats about zero tolerance etc will be thrown in)?

Unless India is going to ARREST ISI Chief when he lands in india. I don't see what MMS Is planning.
Pakistan has succesfully neutralized MMS.
These pakis have acted like a tag team Zardari, Gilani Track II have put Manmohan singh into a negotiating mindframe. As it is the GOI is fumbling for an adequate response to this. The Pakis have struck when the Iron is hot.

There is no preconceived response level to this type of war against India by pakistan. We can't reply in kind, Pakistan's conciliatory attitude now offering negotiations and joint interrogations means we can go into all out war either.
Indian leadership should have broken off all channels of communications with pakistan that would have made them fearful fearing the unexpected. Instead by opening the channels of negotiations open we have walked into a trap.

Shitty preformance by this Government to say the least.

When we have our own filthy Babus ducking under the cover, we have someone like Sallai Meridor (Israel's Ambassador to US), who stood up and said on CNN how most Israelis (like him) go to India after their military service for peace and spirituality and how it would be a win for terrorists if Israelis are advised against traveling to India.

BTW, all these retarded TV channels and jhollawallas need to be banned. Are they selling chanas and moongfallis on a train? Pathetic "journalism" with no sense of professionalism whatsoever.

May we have a facts/intelligence only thread where we can collect the following (without any comments or OT discussion):

1> Details of the terrorist operation and logistics
2> Details of support/planning behind it
3> Evidence linking Pakistan to the attacks

Will help to document for the future and also let everyone have a clear picture amidst confusing reports and viewpoints.

regarding the permission bit, I would think that the israelis were kept in the loop given that almost all hostages were israeli citizens and also the close relation b/w the governments.

Calling the ISI chief over is just one of the placatory gestures which will be made. They are designed to help people vent their anger. Very likely TSP expressed their willingness to send the ISI chief over after some US encouragement.

This attack is not a game-changer in India's military posture against TSP; there is too much at stake in Afghanistan/US front for GOI to do a U-Turn.

Changes will be internal; the power-brokers have been affected and they will demand their security before they fund the next election. I expect the following:
-Satellite Bases for the NSG
-More aggressive maritime patrols, especially around areas of national interest.
-More local security, especially around places of power-broker's interest.
-And hopefully better crisis and media management; DDM is very immature and raw.

It will be interesting to see how the UPA spins this as a positive with elections coming in soon.

I think that the terms "Allowed" are the result of Israeli DDM reporting - where the govt of Israel gives permission to India to go ahead and Israel sends its own commandos to carry out the ops.

Reality is perhaps that the Israelis landed with some special hi-fi equipment (thermal or heartbeat sensors) may have wanted to join in, were politely told and they understood and accepted that while their help with some equipment was welcome, the final ops will be by indian forces of course.

Israel being a nation with which we enjoy good relation would have been in the loop at a very early stage.

I only hope that RAW and Mossad now join forces together to undo pakistan to the extent that their terrorists and def and dumb forum posters allege.
