Do share plans of your brilliant battery pack.
Mazumdar saab,
Follow this 6 step process ( or because you are a dear friend I can make one for your camera, give me a buzz).

1) Choose a battery case that can accomodate the minimum number of rechargeable cells to produce the specified camera DC power input voltage. So of your camera DC input jack says 7.2V and you will use a NiMH cell {nominal @1.2V each} then use 6 or at most 7 cells to generate a voltage slightly more than the desired voltage).

2) Choose one of the following adjustable voltage regulator parts (they are all what is called LDO Low Drop Off regulator meaning as the battery pack voltage drops below specified output voltage they will tend to remove themselves from the circuit and pass full battery voltage to the output) 3) Use the reference design in the regulator datasheet (url in the web pages of the regulators). Just choose the 2 resistors values for a given output, and connect 2 capacitors for stability.

4) Solder these 4 parts on a prototype PCB (one can even use a cardboard or plastic) and connect to the battery and camera connector.

5) Apply glue or epoxy on the 4 piece electronics to ensure the wires are not exposed (to avoid any short circuit with stray metal pieces in your pocket/pouch). Glue this bob somewhere on the battery pack

6) Check output voltage using a multimeter.

& Ready set click click ... . . .

The aerial display began with three Mi-8 helicopters trooping the national tricolour, IAF ensign and the Aero India flag. This was followed by a rarely seen eclectic 'mix formation' of an Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) leading the pair of Kiran trainer aircraft and Su-30 MKIs displaying the versatility and the ability of the three different categories of flying machines to fly in a formation together. The other mix formations included a vic of an AN-32 and a pair of Dorniers followed by a display of air-to-air refuelling of two Mirage-2000 from an IL-78 MKI. The first prototype of 'Saras' built indigenously at the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) undertook several sharp aerial manouvres displaying its versatility in air.
Are all these displays scheduled daily or were these only inaguration specilas with only a subset of the displays scheduled for other days?

let me translate what arun_s saab has invented

purchase one "adjustable LDO" regulator (1117 family, TO-263 package)
purchase 2 resistors, 3 capacitors, and one proto-board (see example)
connect regulator to resistors and capacitors as shown
on page 11 of Reference:

for example:

If the camera needs 3Volts
then use this equation: Vout = 1.25V x (1+ R2/R1)
choose R2 = 2200 ohms, R1 = 1580 ohms, which gives Vout = 2.99Volts
C1 = 10uF, 25V 1812, Ceramic (in case someone connects a car battery i.e. 14V to regulator input)
C2 = 0.1uF 16V 0805, ceramic
C3 = 10uF, 25V 1812, Ceramic (just to keep the parts the same, can use lower voltage rated capacitor if need be)

Note: adjust value of R1 based on camera voltage requirement
R1 and R2 should be 1% accuracy

Recommendations:
Voltage regulator package should be TO-263 (lower thermal resistance)
Voltage regulator package pad should be mounted on thermally conductive medium (note: pad is the Vout terminal)

example part numbers:

texas instruments regulator, TO-263 package
C1, C3 10uF capacitor, 25V 1812 package
C2 0.1uF 25V, 0805 package
R1 = 1.58K, 0805 package
R2 = 2.2K, 0805 package

PS, never exceed camera input voltage, the camera is designed to self-destruct if the voltage exceeds by even a small amount, measure output with a good meter before connecting to camera.

if camera blows up, call arun_s saab onlee because Patent is owned by Arun_S saab onlee

Anyone know if any Cafe Coffee Day outlets have some available, I'm planning to go tomorrow so CCD should have business tickets.

Is there a ticket counter at AFS Yellahanka?

"While foreign participation has increased over the years, it is disheartening to note the absence of India's inventory. The average Indian never gets to see India's airpower on display. There are other aircraft in India's wide fleet which should have been demonstrating here," said Kapil Chandni, an analyst at Bharat-Rakshak.com, a website on Indian defence. Chandni is a regular at the Aero India shows, held in Bangalore every two years.
Airshow Organiser to Garud Chief: "Find this kill joy called Kapil Chandni and bounce him out of the airshow"
Garud Chief: "hmmm... the name sounds vaguely familiar .....didnt we...?" :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Errrr...sorry to nitpick but is should be MiG-35 and not MiG-25.

Also, is there no Akash-Ganga team this time around?

Re air displays compared to AI 2007. the LCA and MiG 35 were relatively lacklustre. F-16 was better and the F?A 18 was about the same - as was the C-17.

Suryakirans were notable by their absence,(in the morning) but the Sarangs with 4 helos are the only 4 helo display team in the world and were superlative. The armed Dhruv too was good.

I head that there will be extra displays on Sat-Sun the public days (3 instead of 2) which is good.

Got videos/pics of the Israeli corner shot device. Held it in my hands. it has been ordered by NSG and someone else - can't recall. Will need time to put up videos.

Pray, where in Delhi will they host an Aero India?

Palam?
Good Ol' and super small Safdarjang?
Hindon?

The last I think not - this is a tactically important Airbase, they don't even let DDM in leave the Phoreign media wallahs to have a field day for the good part of a week.

Surely it can't be Pragati Maidan :rotfl:

Geez. India's national capital has only 2 and a half airports around it.

Guys, great job with a/c photos. But like Rupak says, time now to take pics of other stuff. For example, could someone take pics of all the BEL poster boards and equiment such as the poster shown next to the Garud http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_o_no4M2xEPY/S ... 720658.JPG These posters and data boards are the key to getting new info from these shows.

BTW, can someone find out if the VL test of Brahmos from Ranvir failed to hit the target or not.

Is there anything on new missiles like Shourya, Nirbhay etc?

Poland Aero India 2009
Created: 12.02.2009 11:15

Poland is among 70 countries participating in the Aero India Show 2009, taking place in Bangalore, south India.

Aero India, an annual trade fair organized since 1996, offers the possibility to observe and promote the latest products and technologies of the aviation industry to an international professional audience.

One of the Polish stands presented at Aero India Show 2009 belongs to Cenzin and Bumar, leading suppliers and exporters of armaments and military equipment, both present on the Indian market for some long time.

Last year Bumar announced 1.2-billion-dollar sale to India of 200 WZT-3 armored cars, 80 Kroton de-mining vehicles, 100 Loara mobile anti-aircraft units and 110 self-propelled cannons1,000 tank engines (is)
