Eyes on the Prize - everyone sing it out!

I think Bob Schieffer summed it up well.

Here is Congressman Ron Paul's take on Obama's winning of the Nobel Peace Prize:

His words on Woodrow Wilson ring very true.
Wilson was big Atlanticist puppet, who created the US Federal Reserve to finance his foreign military adventurism in Europe, at the behest of extraterritorialist Atlanticist lobbies.

We can now see the chickens coming home to roost, wrt the creation of the Federal Reserve.

We should rethink the dynamics of the 123 deal from why KS made his statement about the fizzle.

What do you mean?
I don't even remember KS' statement. I assume that he expressed confidence in the test results, because he's pro-123.
His statement didn't influence 123 - it's the other way around - 123 would have influenced his statement.

This KS reference causes confusion. KS always meant K.Subrahmanyam. K.Santhanam is a late claimant.

Oh, you mean that guy who questioned the Pokhran2 results.

Well, I thought that was to do with CTBT - why do you feel it has something to do with 123?
He was quiet enough after 123 was signed - he only came out with his statement once CTBT came back in play.

So why do you feel 123 rather than CTBT? Because then the timing of his statements doesn't make sense.

Dubya's legacy can be summed up by this famous phrase,
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions".He cared little for the tens of thousands of innocents who died in Iraq, the genocide at Fallujah, the concentration camps of Abu Ghraib and Gitmo, the kangaroo court that hanged Saddam and the sad fact that years on,longer than WW2,there is precious little of the infrastructural development in Iraq left standing like electricty, water, etc, which was in excellent shape during the Saddam regime, which has been totally ignored by the American empire and the welfare of the Iraqi people of secondary importance to the control and theft of Iraqi oil.The environment has suffered dreadfully, the rivers have become sewers and the toxic remains of the war strewn all over the country to harm generations of future Iraqis. The real architect of the Bush-2 presidency is Dick-the-Prick Cheney, whose corrosive and toxic policies and gargantuan greed raped Iraq and Baghdad in the same way that the first Muslim invaders raped Delhi and India, requiring a century for it to recover.Dubya Bush sadly was the exact opposite of his father, who rallied the entire world round to kicking Saddam out of Kuwait, with the sanction of the UN too unlike his son.

Obama's award by the Norwegians indicates how bankrupt Norwegian politicians are and how devalued the peace Prize has become.Their support for the fascist LTTE in Lanka appointing as minister and peace-broker a failed politican (Solheim) a man with a shady record involved in a sex scandal with Czech whores, shows the true nature of the nation's politicos. It is also a fact that Norway has a very close military and intel relationship with the US,another fact why they chose Obama.Had Obama graciously declined the award, his stature would've gone up even more.In immediately accepting it,he has shown that this latter day "Messsiah" much prefers enjoying the victorious wreaths of a conquering Caesar instead of the crown of thorns of the martyr.

Why, Increasingly I find myself in the minority regarding opinion on Dubya bush is concerned? Iraq became a victim of, call it greed for oil, Geo strategic masterstroke of trying to get out of Saudi strangle hold or revenge of father's unfinished business.
As far as India is concerned, He had been better than the ineffectual jerk residing in the white house. Just watch out for the major policy changes that are likely to come from US

1. May be appointment of some envoy on Kashmir

2. Look the other way when China raises claim for Arunachal ( The same way he refused to meet HH Dalai Lama)

3. Already raising the bogey of Non proliferation through NPT & CTBT

4. Loads of gyan on Human rights & pressure on Iran relationships

5. Nuclear treaty already in cold storage.

Bad times for the civilisational nations - India , Israel & may be Iran. He is 'PARIS HILTON' n the white house, all gas

But if Americca needs a Nobel Prize to reaffirm its place as the preeminent superpower, that is a sad commentary of the state of that power. If this sense of being back is proven by such prizes, then it only underscores how much power has eroded and how much decline is going to happen in not too distant a future.

One has to look at the process when new data comes in. There is nothing fixed about anything. The Clinton Admin would have known the data soon after it came out. And then Bush took the deal forward.

Dr. R's passing has left the sci-elite leaderless.

Congratulations to Obama for NPP.
Meanwhile
Obama looks forward to receiving Manmohan Singh
President Barack Obama has told Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is making the first state visit of his presidency next month, that he looks forward to receiving the Indian leader in Washington...
Obama also expressed concern over last week's attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul in a telephone call to Manmohan Singh on Saturday, returning a call from the prime minister to congratulate him on winning the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
<snip>

"The president also underscored his concern for the attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul and said that he looked forward to receiving the prime minister in Washington later this year," the statement said.

"The president expressed his appreciation for the call and congratulations. He noted that he was humbled and grateful for having received the Nobel, and that he saw it as a call to collective action on shared challenges," the statement said.

Obama and his wife Michelle will host Manmohan Singh for his first state dinner at the White House on November 24, described as "...an important event" by his spokesman Robert Gibbs.

"I think it goes without saying that India is an important ally," Gibbs told reporters on Friday.

"And obviously we continue to be very engaged with the Indians to bring about peace in obviously an important region of the world," he said.

Operation 'Yudh Abhyas 2009' to further deepen Indo-US security ties
Indo-US defence cooperation took yet another leap of faith with the 18-day joint exercise 'Yudh Abhyas 2009' getting underway at Babina in Madhya Pradesh today.

The joint show will promote mutual trust and understanding through exchange of tactics, techniques and procedures and associated logistics supportwhile giving exposure to high-tech weapons, equipment and systems, according to the Defence Ministry here.
------
According to experts, even as the biggest-ever exercise between both the countries gets underway with hundreds of soldiers from both sides participating, the show is basically to strengthen strategic ties besides the already deepening Indo-US military relationship.

Besides allowing defence officials to assess some of the American military equipment being offered by the US for sale, the exercise will also take security relations between the two new 'strategic partners' to a new high, they aver.

U.S. report cites illegal payments by firms to Indian entities
A United States government report on corrupt practices, released in May this year, mentions “illegal payments” to several Indian entities, including state-owned enterprises, by American companies. These firms have admitted to wrong-doing and paying of bribes to secure orders.

The Indian Navy, employees of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, the Railways, the Central Insecticides Board and a “government official” have been mentioned as bribe receivers during 2000-06, covering the National Democratic Alliance regime as well as the United Progressive Alliance rule at the Centre.

Thanks Dude,
Cool is my middle name :D What bush delivered for India, none of the idiots could, Got us out of the woods in nuclear terms. Now we will realize his legacy as far as India is concerned. Regarding rest of his actions, I just don't see anything that could harm India's Interest any more than they already were. Read what i wrote in an earlier post about Bush. Thankfully he did not send his crony (Ala Miss raphael) to create Hurriyat or appoint a special envoy for Kashmir or ever discuss Kashmir in multilateral forums. I am not interested in what he did in Iraq or Afghanistan(this one suits us) beyond a point . More than anything he had balls to fight for what he thought was right.

It is a sad commentary on the micro-mindedness of current Indian diplomutts and midgets, that a dinner with Obama and a pat on the head for being a loyal servile state is reward enough for all the ******** that we are receiving from Pak,funded by the US.Our good Doctor should've politely rejected the state dinner offer as a mark of protest for the US's continuing financial aid to the Paki military who misuse this aiod to wage war against India, the latest outrage being the attack on the Indian embassy at Kabul.

Somehow, I can't believe that our MEA wonks can't understand these acts for what they are, a gesture to hoodwink. More so I can't imagine that our Bureaucrats are so useless and dumb that they can't see the farce of this? Is it the political class that is to be blamed for this timidity?
Whatever the spin doctors of MMS say, " rubs shoulders with the high & mighty " (NDTV/CNNIBN gang) he looks like a farmer in a big city mall, just happy to be allowed there. Yesterday i read some lifafa journo write in DNA that we should allow Holbroke to come over to India if he wants to brief us on Af-PAK. What is this happening? There is some big game being readied on India.
With the rant of Mr Lewinsky aka Billu advising India to make concessions on Kashmir and that too at an IIT conference, I am getting a feeling that the TSP has managed whore herself to convince her 31/2 clients(japan voting with China on Arunachal) into pressurising India on Kashmir, " Kashmir is the emotional raw nerve for the terrorism being exported to US & Europe".
These IITians are proving to be the biggest bunch of traitors we have produced, compromising India's interests and not even a murmur of protest. I made Jack trout shut up when he started lecturing on Kashmir and advised him to leave the America for UK stan as the land there belonged to Red Indians and why not return California to Mexico.

Reminds me of all the sound byte, anger - right up to brilliance in spelling - produced quite often eg

These IITians are proving to be the biggest bunch of traitors we have produced,
As Ex-IItiann thanks for calling me a traitor. .( Of course, as far as I am concerned, such comments say more about the postor than IIT'an)
I heard at present, hundreds of thousands of India's young and brightest want to apply for IIT ... So why so many just want to be biggest bunch of traitors.?..
forewarned is forearmed as far as nobama is concerned
P.S. Who is nobama?

And how trashing IITians etc are even remotely related to US/India news and discussion?

It is one thing to have some reasonable debate here, but should this discussion stoops to the quality of , what I think, Madam Shileen's writeup.

Nominations for the Nobel peace prize are usually by February 1st, if Obama was inaugurated on January 20,2009. What did Obama do in those 10 days after inauguration to get the Nobel peace prize??

Most of us don't care about US domestic politics, but Barack Obama's administration is no friend of India; and in this regard he makes GW Bush look very friendly. Policies and actions taken indicate this very clearly. To be critical of individuals on this forum who dislike the Obama administration smacks of sugar coating the poison pill. I very much enjoy your math puzzles and perhaps its better you direct your energies there rather than the illogical approach of defending an anti-India US president.

The NRIs who voted for him are now guilty of having the blood of Indian men, women and children on their hands.

It was what he did in last November that matters. He kicked devil out of white house and brought back dignity to the European institutions so they can reclaim the glory to give awards to third worlders and colored people.

Many NRIs whose jobs were threatened by outsourcing supported Obama as he came across as someone who would contain outsourcing. Sometimes personal economic interests override love for country of origin.

Question for the Ayatollah --

Explain the sheer hypocrisy of US allowing China-Pakistan proliferation axis and then tilting at windmills against India.

Also explain how the above is actually in US interests given that long term both China and Pakistan are mortal enemies of US in their own ways where as India is not.

Oh really? Obama to join Diwali celebrations at White House
WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama will personally join members of the Asian American community to celebrate Diwali, 'the festival of lights',
at the White House next week.

"At the East Room ceremony, the president will observe Diwali, or the Festival of Lights, a holiday celebrated across faiths on Oct 14," the White House announced on Friday.

While it was former president George W Bush, who started the tradition of celebrating Diwali at the White House, he never personally participated in the celebrations, leaving his top administration officials to grace the occasion.

Also, Diwali was not celebrated in the main White House, but in a building attached to it.

The East Room is usually used for ceremonial occasions. It was here that Bush signed the enabling law for the India-US civil nuclear deal.

The White House also announced that Obama will also sign an Executive Order Oct 14 restoring the White House Advisory Commission and the Interagency Working Group to address the issues concerning the Asian American and Pacific Islander community.
The moral of the story is neither Democrats nor Republicans have a monopoly over friendship. They both take care of their country's interests. Time the Indian leaders did the same.

Read through the whole thing. Apparently the real complaint is that certain people didn't get invitations.

"They also said that unlike in past years, when Diwali was an exclusive function where several hundred Indian Americans would be invited, this time "there will be a wholesale invitation to a group of Asian Americans and we have no idea how many Indian Americans are being invited or have been invited to what was essentially in the past six years a desi event."
