krisna, it's a myth that maoists are poor people, the tribals are poor people but the maoists are led and controlled by people who are by and large from the elite families of this country (khobad ghandy's father for example was the owner of an ice-cream factory and he still owns a bungalow in mumbai ?) and even if they claim to be communists, they have no problems in retaining links with their bourgeois friends and relatives and receiving assistance from them.
these people are plain and simple megalomaniacs, who wish to climb up the ladder to the throne of India on the bloodied backs of tribals.
the tribals are just foot soldiers for them, to be discarded when their objective is achieved(which isn't very likely anyway !) any statement about how they are fighting for the marginalized is for lip-service only, their game is exposed time and again when they wantonly destroy infrastructure that actually improve people's lives, primary schools, electricity distribution systems, roads etc.

Most definitely not! Terming them as 'Foreign NGOs' or for that matter just misguided 'NGOs' is nothing but failure to acknowledge the problem. One must be very specific about the composition & workforce of these NGOs(predominantly christian) as well as the backers/fund sources of these NGOs (which happen to be fundamentalist christian cults).
 "misguided" ? don't try to put words in my mouth. FYI, not all foreign NGO's are religious in nature, in fact most aren't. and do answer austin's question before we take this further.

I am not putting words in your mouth but I am just demonstrating the absurdity of your claim that labelling them as foreign NGOs is sufficient.

I did not use that particular word and neither did I paint NGO's with ulterior motives as cutesy organisations. so you were putting words in my mouth. don't push it.

austin, there is some amount of truth to this. I know from personal experience but that is unfortunately not reflected in media reports. I'm yet to see a comprehensive report on this.

I said, I am pointing out the absurdity in your position that just labelling them as foreign NGOs is fine. I mean why even bother labelling these terrorist funding christian NGOs as foreign NGOs, just call them misguided NGOs, on the lines of the 'misguided youths' in RoP.

^^^ As far as killing of a hindu religious leader the Maoists have denied in a television interview that they killed him on behalf of any Christian organisation.

News Paper , TV etc can also work on behalf of people who would like to put these sort of typical news which is lifafa journalism to achieve narrow political objectives or spread hatred amongst communities.

Has GOI/MOD/MHA has come up with report which points to Christian organization funding Maoists ? If there is a serious concentrated effort by such organisation the GOI must be in the know and would have documented the same , much like they do with other kinds of terrorism and its funding source affecting India.

Its a serious issue and if GOI seriously thinks that some phorein christian NGO are supporting such anti-national cause then they must and should have been banned by now or some action taken against them.

As long as sekoolaar govts. are inflicted on this country, such reports will not come out. However, I do recall a news item which had a quote from a maoist leader acknowledging that the vast majority of maoist terrorists were christians. Will be great if someone can dig up the story and post it here for Austin's benefit.

Whether funding of maoists comes from christian groups, NGOs , chinese, etc could not be said with surety , but one thing is sure ,GoI knows where it comes from,.They must have reports collected by various agencies ,.
I am talking about tons of reference material ,with some common names appearing again and again, but nobody takes action because of some reasons. Now those reasons should be identified and worked upon ,.
In the end nothing replaces direct action,be it vote bank or local political advantage. and nothing can be done to replace the damage done by these element due to political absurdity.

Electronic umbrella plan for Parliament
Parliament House may be cocooned in an electronic umbrella to protect it from air attacks.
Considerable groundwork has already been done on this front. The 10-member panel will discuss the proposal to install on the roof of Parliament House a radar that will be operated by the Indian Air Force. The radar will be part of the system for tackling threats from the sky.
The committee had chosen the New Zealand-based Gallagher Group for installing a perimeter protection system around Parliament House. The electronic security system sends active pulses around the fence every 1.2 seconds. The fence is divided into 30 zones, each of which is monitored individually.Intruders coming into contact with the fence suffer a painful jolt and the alarm system gets activated. The site in question is pictured on a central control computer that is monitored round the clock.

The system makes an attack from the ground difficult. The committee has now turned its attention to the possibility of threats from the sky.

Uses and Benefits of Electric Fencing

Animal control is perhaps the most widely recognised reason for electric fencing. Not only does electric fencing keep domestic animals or livestock contained, it has various other important uses, including:

* Keeping wild animals and vermin out
* Separating different groups of animals
* Allowing rationing of crops and pasture
* Fencing animals off from eroding areas, trees, rivers and roads

Another significant reason for using electric fencing is for the effect it has on farm profitability. Electric fencing has revolutionised pasture management techniques and better pasture management means better profitability for farmers. Permanent or portable electric fences are used to subdivide pasture to ensure even distribution of manure over grazing areas. In this way, pastures are kept fresh, short and palatable which ultimately leads to increased milk and meat production.

Other key benefits of electric fencing:

* Affordable
* Easily constructed and maintained
* Durable, because of low physical contact
* Light weight and easily transported
* Easily modified
* Less animal hide and pelt damage
* Deterrent to trespassers and predators

So for convenient, economical animal control, improved pasture management and more profitable farming, a Gallagher Power Fence™ System is the trusted solution.

Israel, Syria announce nuclear energy ambitions
......................

"When it comes to Iran, you have a country that openly speaks about the destruction of a United Nations member state (Israel)," Landau told The AP. "Why does a poor country in the Middle East have to put so much economic resources (into nuclear activities) instead of feeding its own people, unless they have other ambitions, purposes on their minds?"

Minutes after Landau spoke at the conference, another of Israel's rivals, Syria, expressed nuclear interest.

Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faysal Mekdad said his country "calls for the need to consider alternative energy sources, including nuclear energy" to meet its growing demands.

"The peaceful application of nuclear energy should not be monopolized by the few that own this technology but should be available equally for all," Mekdad said, noting Syria's growing population.
...................
"Israel has always considered nuclear power to partially replace its dependence on coal," Landau said.

Asked whether Israel would allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency to supervise any new project, he said any nuclear plants "will undoubtedly be under the total procedures of those with whom we are in cooperation."

Still, he dismissed calls to sign the Nonproliferation Treaty, which aims to limit the number of countries capable of developing nuclear weapons.

"We don't see a reason why we should do it," he said.

................
It was France that, beginning in the 1950s, helped Israel build its nuclear reactor at Dimona. Israel is believed to have used that reactor to construct a stockpile of nuclear weapons.

Israel also has a smaller nuclear reactor for research at Nahal Soreq, not far from Tel Aviv.

"I don't think we need any inspections" at these sites, Landau told AP. "I don't think anyone in the international community has any problem with any of the Israeli initiatives in that area."

Landau's office says no specific plans to set up a third nuclear facility have been drawn up so far.

People on this forum are probably already aware of this

http://www.pearson.com/about-us/consume ... ews/?i=873
While running a covert propaganda campaign for Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Kolb anonymously wrote a widely published series of investigative newspaper stories that electrified India.
http://www.icmrindia.org/free%20resourc ... world1.htm
According to Kolb's version of events, he was led to understand that the documents he was being shown – relating to the opening of the bank account – were genuine, and that he was working to help Rajiv Gandhi win the parliamentary elections, which were due shortly in India. Apparently, when the Indians failed in their efforts to plant the story in international newspapers, they approached Khashoggi through Chandraswamy. Khashoggi and Chandraswamy enlisted the help of Kolb, who with his contacts was finally able to ensure that the story appeared in the Arab News, a newspaper published from the Middle East. Later, Kolb traveled several times to Basseterre, to dig up more information to further implicate V P Singh and his sons in the case. He also wrote several of the pieces about the affair that appeared in newspapers around the world. Kolb also accompanied a Deputy Director from the Enforcement Directorate to Basseterre. The official was sent to investigate the matter, and Kolb describes how, after having failed to obtain any information from the bankers, he witnessed the official being fed documents and information, by accomplices of Chandraswamy on the flight back from Basseterre.

If the above news is true, then it is sad indeed. I hope at least now the external affairs ministry and others wakes up and realizes that soft power is useless by itself. The interesting thing is that people like B.Raman had already predicted an outcome like this.

A British Airways computer specialist charged with planning a suicide bombing had volunteered to work as cabin crew during strike action at the airline
Mr Karim, who was born in Bangladesh, is accused of two counts of planning suicide bombings — including his own death. One involves an alleged plot in Britain, while the second alleges contact with militants in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Yemen. The court heard that he came to Britain to plan an attack, and the charges state that he had been plotting terrorist acts from April 2006 to his arrest last month. The third charge alleges that he collected money to be sent overseas to fund terrorism.

^ one might remember a similar report being issued by security agencies in IndiA ,where foriegn agents(eye si) were using similar tactics by trapping muslim girls or girls who belong to influential families by marrying them and then using their money, shelter and influence.

One point to note is that chinks and bakis very quickly share any type of capability and tactics to use against their targets, that is bakis against Indians, and chinks against west, isnt it??

Hi....I recently came across this article from Sandeep Unnithan in which he writes about turf wars between NTRO & ARC. Many people here might already know about it but for newbies the link is here. The article says that NTRO doesn't even have its headquarters even after 3 years of its establishement. It was written in 2007. And that's just one fact. It was so depressing to know about all of this.
It would be nice if Any guru here with experience in this field can tell us if this is true. I mean it's been 3 years since that article was published, have these problems been sorted out ??

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/content_ma ... nt&id=1067
Over one-and-a-half years later, the agency is yet to hear from the Government on the aircraft or its proposal to acquire helicopters. The word is that RAW has stonewalled the acquisition because it is anxious to protect its in-house technical division—which also snoops on nuclear tests and missile launches in the neighbourhood making it a vital component of the Nuclear Command Authority. So, in a classic dichotomy, the Government now receives airborne intelligence from RAW and satellite imagery from NTRO, going against the very logic of having a single agency for technical intelligence. The agency is allowed to collect data but not process or interpret it. By now, the organisation should have been the nodal agency for cyber warfare but has been forbidden from hacking or cyber snooping simply because they are not part of the seven agencies authorised to monitor communication facilities.
In the early days, intelligence provided by NTRO was disregarded by the National Security Council (NSC) and its members were not even allowed to sit in on meetings of the Joint Intelligence Committee, a forum of all top intelligence agencies.
Like RAW, the organisation forms part of the Cabinet Secretariat and reports directly to National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan. The chairman—also called secretary, NTRO—holds the same rank as the RAW chief. Yet, till date the organisation is yet to get its own building and functions from three locations scattered over the national Capital.

Hizbul Mujahideen's 'Pepsi bomber' arrested
AHMEDABAD/NEW DELHI: Foiling a plan by Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen to set up base in Gujarat, police have arrested a Kashmiri Bashir Ahmed Baba alias "Pepsi bomber" who was allegedly recruiting youths and had conducted a recce of key sites including ISRO facility in the state.

"We have arrested one Basheer Ahmed Baba alias Aijaz (32) from near Samarkha village in Anand district last night," Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad chief Ajay Tomar said in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Baba, who was out on bail, was arrested on a tip off provided by Central security agencies after police got a whiff of his activities which were being closely monitored. Tomar said Baba's main job was to identify vulnerable youth, brainwash them and sent them to Pakistan for terror training, adding he had till now sent nearly 3000 youths for the purpose.

A resident of Srinagar, Baba was known among the Jammu and Kashmir police as "Pepsi Bomber" for his ability to assemble Improvised Explosive Devices in empty Pepsi cans along with an accomplice. He was active during the Amarnath land agitation row and had allegedly hurled IEDs in Pepsi cans at police.

He was arrested after officials traced the chemical factory, set up in the house of one Arif Gilkar, where the two allegedly used to assemble the IEDs.

Baba had conducted detailed recce of some places including Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Railway stations, Kankaria lake, science city, Akshardham temple malls and cinema houses, Tomar said.
How the hell in the world did this moron end up receiving Bail in the 1st place is mind boggling to say the least!
