News as of 11:26 PM, 14th August.
* Mahdani formally told about the arrest warrant. Agreed to be arrested, after the fast is broken for the day.
* Arrest happening today (14th August) is now ruled out.
* Mahdani files bail petitions in Supreme Court today. But today and tomorrow being holidays, the case would get a number only on Monday. And it would be taken up as early as Wednesday only.
* Anwarsseri is now pretty much in police control. Every single entry point to the place is now picqueted by the police.
* In neighbouring Karunagapalli town, PDP activitists tried to stage a protest march only to be lathi charged by the Kerala's finest.
* A set of Muslim leaders (who are NOT connected with PDP) to see the Chief Minister tomorrow to plead for Mahdani

* After the NDF's freedom parade got pretty much banned all across the state, NDF leader itself declared that the Freedom Parade is now cancelled

Which is technically correct. In Kerala there are no charges levelled against Mahdani. So folks here would not have arrested him in any way. Karnataka Police too was blasted by the High Court for dilly-dallying with the arrest. But I always felt that Karnataka Police had trained their guns on him, and sooner or later our pal would get picked up. The court order gave an extra push.
I can understand a cautious move in order to avoid rioting, loss of lives and property but there can be absolutely no negotiations whatsoever.
My feeling is that the negotiations are not for giving undue advantages to Mahdani and Co. There were some reports that Mahdani and his next rung of leaders were categorically told that the arrest is inevitable. The current police action is keeping in mind the presence of large number of Mahdani fans, and to avoid chances of rioting, police firing etc. I feel K.P have made a move considering all critical points. Today, the President is going back to Delhi. After that large number of police forces would be available, and if PDP fellow try their tricks in other parts of the state, they will get a good 'doze'

As per what I heard on TV, there was the "passing out parade" of the Kerala Armed Police III Bn., in near by Adoor. Many these new constables were immideatly asked to move to Anwarsseri. What an opening of a career !!.
