Since, the thread is going to remain for the moment any way. Let me point out that the Pakis have returned the truck loads of Indian patatos that were sent to TSP.
Why?
Because, they had spoiled awating the unloading at the Pakistani mandi. Now the pakis want India to compensate them as well as take back the Patatos.
Keep the above in mind while discussing any Indian aid to TSP.
In fact Parthasarathy in an interview posted in this thread said that Pakis will not disburse Indian aid saying it is "low quality" and will in future wait for a sewer to get blocked in India and offer "aid" to unblock it as an equal equal.
Those trucks were far from their usual routes to Afghanistan through western Pakistan, roads that have been cut off because of the floods. Trucks are now having to take a much longer way through the center of the country to Islamabad, and then on to Peshawar. But roads to that city have also been cut off.
1) The areas is mostly in sindh and bordring areas of punjab and balochistan. All centred around sukkur barrage and southwards where the floods are threatening the sindh plains.
2)The roads are on either side of the river Indus( on satellite images). Initially parts of it were in danger but with increasing water flow may have inundated them.
3) major routes to US and NATO forces go thru karachi- peshawar. all of the main roads from karachi have to pass through sukkur bypass unless it goes to quetta-peshawar-khyber pass.
The Sialkot lynching is a mirror image of another lynching which we have conveniently forgotten. This takes us to 1994 when the Taliban, made and molded in and by Pakistan, invaded the UN-protected enclave in Kabul where they lynched Dr Najibullah and his brother. After lynching them publicly, just like their brethren have done in Sialkot, the Taliban hung the corpses of the two brothers and mutilated them; they even chopped off their private parts. At that time hundreds of people cheered on the Taliban as they disrespected the two corpses just like the hundreds of people did in Sialkot; the only difference being that there were no mobiles phones available at that time. Again, it is our “Pakistani” Taliban who Pakistan Army thinks are “good Taliban” who last year dug up a pir from his grave and hanged, and not just hung, him. You can go a few more years earlier in 1984 when General Zia sent his notorious lashkar led and supervised by no other than Brigadier Musharraf aka General Musharraf, the enlightened, the moderate. This proto-Talibanic lashkar not just burnt alive hundreds of the Shias of Gilgit, it burnt alive the animals too owned by the Shias. Of course, this can be justified because those animals were not human, Muslim, or Pakistani.
The Sialkot lynching is not spontaneous. It is in fact a great tribute paid to General Zia who created the Islamofascist mindset with the help of Arabian money and Pakistani-sectarian manpower. The Zia-sponsored and Islamists-created curriculum taught in Pakistan to this day has created a vision in which Muslims of a certain denomination are the only superior people in the world whose divine mission is to put the entire world on the righteous path by speech or sword depending on how quiescent or stubborn the people target for conversion are. Because Muslims can do no wrong, whatever Muslims do is right. General Zia and his accomplices created an Islam, which was unheard of in Pakistan, and since then that Islam has been creating us the human-Muslim-Pakistanis.

The Friendship Tunnel at Kohat on the Indus Highway has been closed now for almost two years because the Taliban took it over. That is why NATO trucks have been using the circuitous Rawalpindi-Peshawar route.
Pakistan takes our money with one hand and sticks the knife in our back with the other. The sad part is that we continue to give them money and pretend to ignore the knife.

Ashley J. Tellis voices his opposition to the recent sale of Chinese nuclear reactors to Pakistan ("Stop the Sino-Pak Nuclear Pact," op-ed, Aug. 17). As a former State Department official, Mr. Tellis exhibits in his stance the same shortsightedness and double standards that often mar U.S. foreign policy.
By opposing Chinese-made nuclear plants with International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards in Pakistan, the U.S. would be denying a valuable energy source to a key ally whose stability is threatened by a crushing energy deficit. How would Mr. Tellis suggest Pakistan bridge its 4,000-megawatt energy gap, which is expected to grow by another 22% by 2015?
There is also a clear double standard embedded in Mr. Tellis's criticism. The U.S.-India nuclear pact that Mr. Tellis helped negotiate exempts eight power plants, including Indian "breeder reactors," from the IAEA-inspected civilian list. (Breeder reactors produce more fissile material than they consume.) The exemption allows India to advance its military nuclear program and only sets back U.S. nuclear nonproliferation efforts.
For the U.S. to be taken seriously in South and Southwest Asia, it needs to have clear and consistent policies on major international issues.

I was on a television programme discussing radicalisation when one of the panellists boasted how one mard-e-mujahid is equal to 10 infidels. This compelled me to ponder how and when did the radicalisation of Pakistanis really start. The popular myth is that Ziaul Haq sowed the seeds of radicalisation but, in reality, institutionalised radicalisation of Pakistanis started in the late 1950s when the Iqbalian concepts of mard-e-momin and shaheen were promoted, much like the Nazis originally promoted the concept of the superman of Nietzsche. {I am glad that Pakistanis are themselves comapring their State to Nazi Germany}Interestingly, the security establishment promoted Iqbal’s idea post the 1958 coup to undermine civilian rule and tried to revise the status of Allama Iqbal as one of the original founders (note that Iqbal was not the national poet until 1958) because the army had traditionally been uneasy with Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a staunch secularist, as head of the state. Ayub obviously had a bone or two to pick with Jinnah due to Jinnah’s tough stance on the role of the armed forces.
And we transformed ourselves to Nietzsche’s idea when Pakistan, a newly born ill-equipped nation 1/5th the size of India, confidently initiated Operation Gibraltar and later Kargil, intoxicated by the one Muslim equals 10 Hindus syndrome. We all know what happened next.

Sialkot lynching of the two innocent young men by a mob, which included police officers. The two men were on their way to a cricket match on their bike, and became embroiled with a mob searching for thieves. They were wrongly accused of theft and then lynched.

At the end of the video, there is a kid around 10 years old hitting the body with a stick! The next generation is readying itself to take the reins of Pakistan.

That does not take into account the canals and the over-hydration of the soil to raise the water table and over extraction of water leading to silting - all of which was achieved after independence. That in fact is the reason for this flood.
Google earth actually shows nothing - but I am certain areas around quite a few bases have been flooded - if not the bases themselves. I posted a picture in an earlier page.

As far as Indian Laws & Constitution goes, I would like to be no gender discrimination, as far as citizenship for spouses of Indian citizens go, but in case of countries that came about through Partition of India, one has to have special laws, and perhaps one has just fall back on traditional law, that the bridegroom of an Indian citizen would not be given any citizenship. She would have to go and live in her Sasural or outside India, if she plans on living together, and the guy will get only 2 weeks visa at a time, each visa costing 3000 USD onlee.

Yes part of the traffic is diverted towards islamabad and to peshawar.

In the name of flood situation, Pakistanis have resorted to all sorts of special treatment and radical measures like
Demanding writing off of the whole debt - I think around 54 billion USD.
Demanding Trade Agreement with America, giving Pakistan special access.
Demanding huge amounts of aid
Tolerating Falah-e-Insaniyat (a subsidiary of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, a terrorist organization) and its relief work in affected areas (later useful for recruitment)
Stopping any cooperation on GWOT citing floods.
Under these exceptional circumstances, anything is possible. The provinces can declare independence citing abandonment by central government, or willfully flooding areas of less importance to the power brokers in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Other countries can recognize those provinces as independent. It is far easier to make one's case claiming abandonment rather than claiming cruelty and crimes!
In the confusion and chaos everything is possible. But it has to take place in this window of opportunity.

Eid Bloodletting and Paki Kids
My Grandfather was from Sialkot and as long as he had the authority (danda) no one was sentenced to death and now this show of Pakiskamic values. The 10 year old most probably has seen enough slitting of animal throats in public at annual Eid event that he is immune to any remorse seeing that life beaten away from these 2 unlucky fellows. For Pakis Kids of that age ,its just another normal routine slaughtering.You tube has many videos of Paki kids keenly watching the knife doing its work on either goat,cow or buffalow in full public view . Very Compassionate and Merciful Poakroachs.
An 80-year-old retired Vancouver professor is raising money for Pakistani flood victims in an unusual way — he's hiking up the Grouse Grind 20 times.
The gruelling 2.9-kilometer climb up the side of Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver can exhaust a fit person of any age, but Muhammad Iqbal said it's no problem for him.
The students though, were tired of watching that price climb higher while the Pakistani government and the international community stayed silent. So, when the government faltered, the teenagers stepped up and planned a weeklong charity drive. With the world looking the other way, they turned to family, friends and the surrounding community for donations of rice, water purification tablets and first aid kits.
I am amazed as how pakis are capable of impressing mango americans with their hospitality. Guess WKK also get affected with this bug once they come back from pure lands. There is something that needs to be looked into
But I felt nothing but kindness as an American citizen. Everywhere I was treated as a welcome guest, and everyone I met seemed very comfortable with me as an American. The Pakistanis I encountered simply understood the difference between disliking a government policy and disliking an American citizen.
GENEVA — For a U.N. appeal it's a sharp departure from the norm: A call for Pakistan flood relief money to be sent to a Pakistani or Swiss bank account with none of the usual monitoring safeguards that come with such humanitarian drives.
The press release by the U.N.'s International Telecommunication Union asks donors to wire money to the National Bank of Pakistan or Switzerland's UBS AG to "assist the flood-affected victims" and rebuild telephone networks — but offers no specifics on concrete projects.
"It's like the Nigerian or Ivory Coast messages asking for help, when they give you the bank account," said Riccardo Bocco, a professor of development studies at Geneva's Graduate Institute, who initially doubted the authenticity of ITU's appeal.
"I've never seen such a practice of giving explicit bank accounts. It looks quite funny. I don't know if it's a new practice in the U.N. world, but I doubt it."
The request is sensitive coming at a time when the global body is desperately trying to rally cash assistance for one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent times, while guaranteeing that each dollar will be accounted for in a country famous for rampant corruption.
ITU spokesman Sanjay Acharya (Yindoo Baniya) told The Associated Press that the appeal was made upon request from Pakistan's government. For the Pakistani account, he said, "it's their responsibility. We can't monitor that, to be sure."

murthy-ji, there are also some amreeki porkis who have suddenly woken from their dream to find themselves in a nightmare... these folks are genuinely shell shocked and most eager to become indian
The average white joe six pack and jane could give a rat's ass nor can they understand or have a clue about US strategic game plans and con jobs around the world but if the joe doesn't get his se(i)x pack and useless sunday football, or the jane doesn't get her cheap victoria secret thongies, in short, moolah; they will scream from their roof tops. To this end, TSP is better off hoping to keep LET as bank balance against India which US will offer in a heartbeat, but not push US too far on moolah lest it backfire. In other words, even with LET at its disposal, TSP has to do some work to get out of the rut it is in, US may not be able to bail it out completely for free.
