To take away the fun and festive atmosphere of Hindu festivals is something that the ecosystem is trying to achieve for a long time. That's how they see it. None of the Abrahamic festivals have such fun and joy and energy associated with Hindu festivals like Diwali etc. https://x.com/TimesAlgebraIND/status/19 ... 2810705289

BIG BREAKING NEWS Delhi Government will approach Supreme Court to allow the use of green firecrackers ahead of Diwali.
CJI BR Gavai led bench has banned bursting of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR.
CM Rekha Gupta termed Diwali as the most significant religious festival of Indian culture.
Has angered every Indian:
Has amused many Indians:
Reprehensible act:
Disrespectful act:
Dear Prime Minister,
(1) It was not an ‘attack’, but an ‘insult’. Even the BBC knows this: “throwing a shoe at someone in public is seen as an act of disrespect and humiliation in India and many other countries”. While I do not support or condone the act, calling an ‘insulting act’ an ‘attack’ is hardly appropriate. An attack is a violent act, intended to cause hurt or physical harm to somebody. This was a non-violent act intended to insult the Chief Justice.
(2) You do not speak for every Indian, so please stop pretending to. Statements like “has angered every Indian” are meaningless. Going by reactions on social media, many Indians are amused that finally, the men used to hearing ‘My Lord’ and ‘Your Honour’ are finally being made to realise that they are accountable humans and not divine arbiters of justice. They are not above criticism and insult. As for me, I am neither angry nor amused. I am indifferent as to me, the incident is as insignificant as the 2009 incident of the journalist Jarnail Singh hurling a shoe at Home Minister P Chidambaram in a press conference.
(3) Again, the act was disrespectful, but not reprehensible. The Chief Justice openly mocked the deities of the majority community which was unnecessary, unbecoming, inappropriate, and disrespectful. Had anybody he similarly mocked the deity of the largest minority, something really reprehensible might have happened by now and the very same liberals who are rallying behind him would have been calling for his impeachment.
Why are you kowtowing to the judiciary, the most inefficient branch of the Government of India today with a pendency of more than 5.3 crore cases? You should have spoken with the Chief Justice when he made the unwelcome remarks about Hindu deities and asked him to be more careful in the future. Remember, it is the voters of the country and not the judges of the judiciary who elected you. Please get your priorities right.

PM Modi Demands Answers from Congress on Who Stopped Retaliation After 26/11 Attacks PM Modi Demands Answers from Congress on Who Stopped Retaliation After 26/11 Attacks
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai International Airport on 8th October 2025, calling it a major milestone in India’s aviation growth. During the event, he criticised the Congress party for showing weakness after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, saying the government at that time failed to act against Pakistan due to pressure from another country.
PM Modi referred to recent comments made by the former Home Minister, who admitted that the government had decided not to retaliate after the 26/11 attacks because of international pressure. It was revealed that the then US Secretary of State had urged India not to respond militarily, even though the idea of retribution was considered. Modi said that the country has the right to know who made the final decision to hold back the armed forces. He added that Congress’s weakness had encouraged terrorists and caused India to lose many innocent lives.

KLN Murthy saar,
I have a much higher opinion of our chiefs, RM and even our babus.
My take on this is that the Pakis were planning some kind of territory grab in the Sir Creek area no matter how foolhardy it may be, and might have gamed several ways it can be played out from that point. They are desperate to re-hyphenate themselves with India and internationalize any issue with India.
Trump intervening again or claiming to stop nth war
Territory grab à la Kargil but in Sir Creek and quickly escalate using their dingdong mizziles this time to salvage yech and dee
And test once again after op Sindoor how hard india will slap back
Use the escalation as an excuse to demand more military aid, equipment , spares and a lot more $$$ from US if they expect any help on the Iranian front coz they'll have no one to spare
They could have chosen to paddle up this Creek due to tacit nods from dow and cia who think this will only please Trumpwa if they can use Pakis to drag india into a longer conflict
Ityadi...
Our establishment got wind of it from raw onions and by making such a public statement from the mouths of RM and service chiefs, leaked the paper and put paid to those plans.
In this era such statements do not come unless there is a clear nod from NaMo.
That’s entirely possible of course. It’s a pretty good application of kremlinology to the high-level statements coming out of GoI.
Pakis are deep believers in the power of propagandu and have invested a lot in it over the years. For all the best reasons, our people have disdain for such flimflam. It’s cultural but also institutional. Which means that we don’t have the same slick propagandu machinery that pakis do.

Strange that Luc Montagnier's nobel credentials don't seem to have the same weight ... Because he didn't follow the prevailing G7 dictacts when it came to MRNA vaccines.
IPCC got a nobel though for its cooked up concensus and fraudulent hockey sticks.

^^^^ Both claims misrepresent how science and the Nobel system work.
Montagnier’s later vaccine views were not ignored because of politics, but because they failed scientific scrutiny.
The IPCC’s data have been validated by multiple independent analyses over decades.
The tone, as usual, anti-establishment or “anti-globalist” rhetoric, not mainstream science.

Absolute dominance once enjoyed by a hegemon is now contested, says FM Sitharaman
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday painted a stark picture of the shifting global order, taking a swipe at the Donald Trump administration’s recent policies, saying that the “absolute dominance once enjoyed by a hegemon is now contested”.
“Wars and strategic rivalries are redrawing the boundaries of cooperation and conflict. Alliances that once appeared solid are being tested, and new coalitions are emerging,” she observed.
The finance minister emphasised that India’s rise as a stabilising force was neither accidental nor transient, but the result of prudent economic management and resilience built over the past decade.
Growth as a strategic imperative
Linking India’s economic trajectory to its strategic standing, Sitharaman said the need to maintain a high growth path. “India has to clock GDP growth rates of 8 per cent to become a developed nation by 2047,” she said.
India as a stabilising force
Amid this turbulence, Sitharaman positioned India as a source of stability and resilience. She credited the country’s steady growth trajectory to domestic anchors: fiscal consolidation, improved quality of capital expenditure and inflation management.
“With the steady share of consumption and investment in the overall GDP over the years, India’s growth is firmly anchored in its domestic factors, which minimises the impact of external shocks on overall growth. As a result, the Indian economy is resilient and continues to grow sustainably,” she said.
Her assertion was highlighted by data showing India’s continued strong trade performance, including a merchandise surplus with the US despite newly imposed tariffs. But she cautioned against complacency: “Just as eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, eternal performance is the price of strategic independence.”
Eternal performance, not complacency
The finance minister’s message was clear: India’s resilience is real, but it cannot be taken for granted. The turbulence of the global order offers both risk and opportunity and India’s strategic autonomy will rest on continuous economic performance.
“There is no room for complacency or self-congratulation beyond a quiet confidence in our abilities to take the right decisions and execute them,” Sitharaman said.
Nirmala Sitharaman Latest Speech | "Global Outcomes Must Be Shaped By India", Says FM Sitharaman Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the Kautilya Economic Enclave 2025 in New Delhi, stressing India’s resilience and growing role amid global uncertainties. Highlighting the impact of rising geopolitical tensions, sanctions, and supply chain disruptions, she said India’s strong shock-absorbing capacity positions it to shape global outcomes. Sitharaman also urged developing nations to take proactive steps for inclusive and sustainable cooperation.

In his address Starmer mentioned the recent Palestine deal and thanked countries like Qatar, Egypt, etc, which I do not feel was relevant.
Secondly, he also offered his condolences for the Air India disaster. But did not mentioned anything about terrorism or the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack.

UN has no locus standi in this case. India has not signed any refugee related treaty with UN or any other group of countries. Which means she need not follow any directives on handling refugees (especially, BDs, Rohingyas etc.).
