Jaishankar On Pakistan Brokering US Iran Deal: 'India Is Not A Dalal Country Like Pakistan'
India has mocked Pakistan's attempt at mediation in the Middle East war, using the strongest of languages to refer to Islamabad as it seeks a role in global diplomacy. At an all-party meeting in Delhi today, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar derided Pakistan as a "dalal (broker) nation," sources said.

"India will not act as a middleman and dalal (broker) nation like Pakistan," a member present at the meeting recalled the minister as saying.

As usual panic moves creating long term problems. Should not take the LPG cylinder option from the people. Let the have a backup and safety net. What's wrong with the govt? Hope someone challenges this in court and get the decision reversed.
Big change For households: PNG To Replace LPG In Key Zones
The government has announced a major policy shift mandating the use of Piped Natural Gas in pipeline-connected areas, signalling a gradual phase-out of Liquefied Petroleum Gas in these zones. Households and establishments have been given a three-month window to complete the transition to PNG, as part of a broader push to strengthen India’s natural gas infrastructure. The move comes amid rising concerns over global supply disruptions and aims to ensure a more stable and efficient energy distribution system. However, the decision has also raised questions around accessibility, installation timelines, and the impact on consumers привык to LPG usage. Aishwarya Patil brings you more details on this developing story

when you convert to PNG, can you not just keep your LPG burner, along with a full cylinder of LPG for emergency use in case the PNG supply is disrupted in future? I think that should be sufficient precaution for the future.

Not that. What government is saying surrender that they will have to surrender the cylinder. Literally like giving up your option to keep two LPG cylinder at home. What happens to their registration is the question? Will that get erased from the records? If that happens, indeed there happens an PNG crisis. Are these people supposed to be registering to get LPG? I'm assuming it is.

The government is forcing PNG onto consumers is because they cannot control or eliminate black marketing. I am assuming that the Black marketing is going on in full swing especially in states ruled by the non-BJP govt. Be it Karnataka, TN, Himachal, Punjab, Telangana where Central govt don't have much control. Hence this kind of a decision. But this is detrimental to long term energy security. The solution is to increase the number of cylinders to 3. The more fuel is with the people, the lesser problem for the govt and the people. This will also destroy the black marketing gangs. These things will not go into their head.

I would say someone smart enough takes up this issue with the court and get the cylinder surrender option quashed. And even get the court to say if they are paying money, they must have the option to choose what they want.

These kind of restrictions make the people suspicious of the govt ability to supply fuel to them in times of crisis. Make them vulnerable to rely on one source. So no more control. Free will choosing. This will allow people to choose PNG voluntarily without any fear of the govt. That's the way to go.

No refund if tickets cancelled before 8 hours or less, boarding station change and more: Read about the new Railway rules of 2026
https://www.opindia.com/2026/03/no-refu ... s-of-2026/
25 March, 2026

The minister“Ticket black marketing and misuse of the Tatkal system had been a major concern,” he said. To fix this, the Railways has introduced better technology to detect bots and fake bookings, along with Aadhaar-based OTP verification. Nearly 3 crore fake accounts have already been removed from the system.

The new cancellation policy changes include:

More than 72 hours before departure: Passengers are eligible for a maximum refund, with only a fixed cancellation fee deducted per person.
Between 72 and 24 hours before departure: A standard penalty applies, with around 25% of the ticket fare deducted, subject to minimum charges.
Between 24 and 8 hours before departure: This falls under late cancellation, where 50% of the fare is deducted, along with applicable minimum charges.
Less than 8 hours before departure: The cancellation window is considered closed, and no refund is provided.
After departure: Tickets are treated as non-refundable, and no refund can be claimed.
Vaishnaw said these changes are aimed at making the system fairer. “These changes are aimed at removing incentives for last-minute speculative bookings and ensuring tickets are available to genuine passengers,” he added.

How the new rules differ from the old system
The major difference in the new rules is the extension of time windows. In the old rules, if a passenger cancelled the ticket within 4 hours of departure, he or she was not entitled to a refund. In the new rules, this time window has been extended to 8 hours.

At the same time, the full refund window has been extended from 48 hours to 72 hours before departure. This means passengers will benefit if they plan well in advance, but last-minute cancellations will be discouraged.

The reservation charts will now be prepared earlier, between 9 and 18 hours before departure, instead of just 4 hours earlier. This will give waitlisted passengers more clarity and time to make alternative travel plans.

More flexibility for passengers
In another major relief, passengers will now be able to upgrade their travel class up to 30 minutes before the train departs. In the old rules, this was possible only before the reservation chart was prepared.

Also, there is a new rule for passengers to change their boarding station digitally 30 minutes before the start of the train from its original station. This means if a person misses their original station for boarding the train, they can select their new station and board the train without losing their seat.

Additionally, counter tickets can be cancelled from any railway station. This means there is no need to be present at the original station for the cancellation of tickets. Also, for e-tickets, there is no need to fill out a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) for a refund. The refund is done automatically.

Less than 8 hours before departure: The cancellation window is considered closed, and no refund is provided.
This is a system design mistake. If no refund is provided, then user has no incentive to get the ticket cancelled. Which means seat will not get back in the system.
It will be left to TTE discretion and and hence room for corruption. A nominal 10-20% refunds should be provided so that the process completes and then TTE will have to make right allocation in order of RAC.

LPG Booking New Rules | Is Your Home In A PNG Network? Get A Connection Or You May Lose LPG Supply

One of the comment under the video
@LazyBoy1805

Back in 2019 my previous apartment complex had PNG supplied by GAIL in all 300 flats in Bangalore.

Average per month cost of PNG used to be around ₹ 1500-2000 per household. Whereas LPG cylinder used to cost ₹ 600-700.

Due the almost 2.5x-3x cost difference our RWA unanimously decided to discontinue PNG and go back to LPG cylinders.

If the government is seriously considering imposing PNG on urban households then they must cap the per unit (SCM) cost to max ₹ 35.

Additionally the government must ensure no minimum consumption costs are levied and infrastructure set-up costs are highly subsidised. Otherwise there won’t be any takers!

Oil bonds paid off and the govt start cutting Excise duty on petrol and diesel. So people were paying higher prices because of the Congress era oil bonds. Once the war gets over, the prices should be lower.
Oil Crisis in India: India Cuts Petrol & Diesel Excise Duties Amid Global Oil Crisis, Fuel Prices
The government has sharply reduced special additional excise duties on petrol and diesel. Petrol duty has been slashed to Rs 3 per litre from Rs 13, while diesel duty has been reduced to nil from Rs 10. The move comes amid a global oil crisis triggered by the West Asia war, which has caused significant volatility in markets. The excise duty cut is aimed at regulating fuel prices for Indian consumers, even as international oil prices rise. The reduction is expected to provide leeway to oil marketing companies such as Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, and Indian Oil, which had earlier created profit reserves of around Rs 25,000 crore. The government's decision comes ahead of elections and is seen as a preemptive measure to prevent the increased crude oil costs from being passed on directly to consumers. The ATF tax is also being revised in the gazette notification.

Chaired the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting today in which Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) was accorded to various proposals worth an estimated cost of about Rs 2.38 lakh crore. The decisions taken in the DAC will help in further strengthening India’s defence preparedness.

For the Indian Army, approval was accorded for the Air Defence Tracked System, Armoured Piercing Tank Ammunition, High Capacity Radio Relay, Dhanush Gun System and Runway Independent Aerial Surveillance System.

It’s heartwarming to note that in the Financial Year 2025-26, AoN for 55 proposals amounting to Rs 6.73 lakh crore has been accorded by the DAC. Moreover, capital procurement contracts have been signed for 503 proposals amounting to Rs 2.28 lakh crore in the current fiscal year. This is the highest number in any given Financial Year.
