It is the dream of our Prime Minister to produce 300 million tonnes of steel in India. For this, we need 800 million tonnes of Iron Ore. At our current production level, we will have to import 75% of our iron ore requirement.

Globally, just 4 or 5 companies like Vale, BHP, Rio Tinto and Fortescue produce 70%-80% of the world’s iron ore. We also have no option but to have 3 or 4 companies which can each make 200-300 million tonnes. This sector requires a very big expenditure on infrastructure. In my estimate, it will take an investment of $20 billion - $25 billion or more.

If we go about it in a simple manner, we can achieve our Prime Minister’s goal of atmanirbharta. India’s geology and quality of ore are same or even better than where/what the companies above are producing.

The world is moving very fast to make simple production of minerals and hydrocarbons. Because it is the need of the hour. You may have seen the US Government has just announced that clearances are self-certified for increasing oil and gas production.

Below-the-ground requires a big vision, like our PM's. Globally, we have also seen massive job creation in this sector and the well-being of people goes up where companies go for voluminous production.

India has sent thousands of tonnes of rice to African nations experiencing food shortages.

Recent deliveries included 1,000 tonnes to Burkina Faso , 1,000 tonnes to Malawi , and 500 tonnes along with relief supplies to flood-hit Mozambique .

Earlier aid was also provided to Zimbabwe , as part of India’s humanitarian efforts addressing crop losses, extreme weather, and growing food insecurity across the continent.

Congress has once again proven that when you can’t win elections, you resort to manufacturing scandals. Pawan Khera, in his desperate bid to please Rahul Gandhi, became the very sacrificial goat that Mani Shankar Aiyar once described as the party’s “tattu.” He gleefully circulated fabricated stories about three passports allegedly held by Riniki Bhuyan Sarma and phantom companies supposedly linked to CM Dr

’s family in the US, Dubai and other countries. The result? Every single claim collapsed like a house of cards.

Let us be clear about what Congress was actually trying to do. They know they cannot form a government in Assam. They know the people of Assam have rejected them. So their real game plan was never electoral victory. It was surgical. Remove Himanta Biswa Sarma from the CM chair by any means necessary. Why? Because no other leader in Assam has the courage to evict illegal encroachers from forest lands. No other CM would dare to enforce the law the way Sarma has. Congress and its core Muslim vote bank needed him gone, and if they could not defeat him at the ballot box, they would try to malign him so thoroughly that the central leadership of BJP would be forced to reconsider his position.

That plan has failed miserably on every front.

The embassies of the respective countries denied the passport claims outright. Media houses and independent experts traced the so called companies and found they were registered by unknown entities barely 36 to 48 hours before the allegations were made. Shell entities created with the sole purpose of defaming a sitting Chief Minister and his family. This was not opposition politics. This was a criminal conspiracy.

And now look at the consequences. An FIR has been registered. Pawan Khera, the man who strutted before cameras making these wild accusations, has gone underground. The warrior of truth is now a fugitive from Assam Police, hiding in Telangana where his wife resides, desperately seeking judicial protection from the very legal system he tried to weaponize against Sarma.

The desperation of Congress is most visible in what happened next. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, one of the top lawyers in the country who reportedly charges fifty lakhs per hearing, had to fly to Telangana to fight for Khera’s bail. Think about that for a moment. The party that planted the trap for Himanta Biswa Sarma is now itself trapped. The hunter became the hunted. When the Telangana High Court showed reluctance to grant bail, Singhvi had to change his prayer midway and seek transit bail instead. The court has reserved its verdict, and Congress sits trembling.

This entire episode exposes the moral bankruptcy of the Congress leadership. Instead of building a credible alternative for Assam, they chose to fabricate evidence, run smear campaigns and deploy expendable foot soldiers like Pawan Khera to do their dirty work. When the plan backfired, the top brass retreated to the shadows and left Khera to face the consequences alone.

Political parties in a democracy should compete on ideas, governance and vision. What Congress has done is stoop to the lowest depths of political warfare, sacrificing its own people in the process. Pawan Khera served his masters faithfully and in return he got exactly what Congress gives all its loyal soldiers: abandonment when the heat arrives.

Assam sees through this. India sees through this.
