At the launch of his memoir 'Five Decades of Politics', Congress leader Sushilkumar Shinde says...
"Before I became the Home Minister, I visited educationist Vijay Dhar.
I used to ask him for advice.
He advised me to not roam around but to visit Lal Chowk (in Srinagar), meet people and go around Dal Lake.
That advice gave me publicity and people thought that here is a Home Minister who goes there without any fear, lekin... meri fat'ti thi wo kisko bataoon? (but who do I tell that I was scared?)

Dangerous Narrative': Rahul Gandhi's 'Sikh' Remark In US Sparks Row, BJP Sends Him 1984 Reminder
After Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday stirred a massive controversy with his remark on the state of religious freedom in India, citing the example of Sikhs, during an event in the US, the BJP slammed the former for setting a dangerous narrative on the foreign soil.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, “He (Rahul Gandhi) speaks without knowing the facts. There are some sensitive issues which include our unity and diversity which has a dangerous narrative.

A momentous occasion today in India’s R&D ecosystem!
The First meeting of the Governing Board of Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) was Chaired by the Prime Minister today creating a milestone in the country’s science, technology and innovation journey. It kickstarts the operations of ANRF, which is poised to transform the R&D landscape of the country.
During the meeting, Prime Minister said that today a new beginning has been made with the first meeting of the Governing Board of ANRF He stressed on the need to identify and remove obstacles in the research ecosystem of the country. He talked about setting big targets, focusing on attaining them and doing path breaking research. He said that research should focus on finding new solutions to existing problems. He emphasised that problems might be global in nature but their solutions must be localised in accordance with Indian needs.
The meeting discussed several areas of strategic interventions of ANRF.
ANRF would launch a program on building research capabilities in central and state universities specially those where research is at nascent stage by pairing them with established top-tier institutions in hub and spoke framework.
It was agreed that the thrust on basic and fundamental research is as important as translational research. Research support to early career researchers was also considered crucial for capacity building.
ANRF would also launch mission-mode research program in some areas of national priority like Electric Vehicles, Advanced Materials, Smart Infrastructure, Photonics, Solar Cells, Health & Medical technology.

Reputed scientist Amitava Pramanik has posted this on Facebook. Any Indian Bengali with a sense of Bangla and Bangla dialect would know Bangladeshis from Indian Bengalis.
Every time I visit CR Park market to buy fish, I am amazed by the rapidly increasing number of Bangladeshis who don’t even care to cover their identity.
They come via West Bengal. And possibly collect fake voter cards and Aadhar cards from pimps selling national security for a handful of dollars.
This unchecked, unrestrained illegal immigration via West Bengal is, to quote the Supreme Court, aggression on India.
Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
sirji,
Sikh gurus were allowed to bring Kirpaan inside Prime minister’s residence which is the most secure building premise of this country and Rahul gandhi is saying Sikhs are not allowed to wear pagri inside gurudwaras.
Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
West Bengal's open border has become a threat to national security. TCM, Congress and Communists (all with anti-Hinduism as their core) have been conspiring to get more BDs into India. It is time to declare a 5 km strip along land borders as union territory. This should be depopulated and controlled only by BSF and Army. Addiction of Hindus to anti-HIndu parties will be their undoing.chetak wrote: ↑11 Sep 2024 07:09Reputed scientist Amitava Pramanik has posted this on Facebook. Rahul Gandhi Meets Islamist US Lawmaker Ilhan Omar — Five Times She Undermined India's Interests
During his visit to the United States (US), Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met with US lawmakers, including Ilhan Omar, known for her strong anti-India stance.
Omar, notorious for repeatedly undermining India's interests on multiple fronts, has sparked controversy by aligning with anti-India narratives. This meeting has raised eyebrows even among Congress supporters, who argue that Gandhi, as the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, should have distanced himself from a US politician who has repeatedly tried to harm India's interests on critical issues like Kashmir.
Here are five instances where Omar has taken a blatantly anti-India stance:
1. POK Visit
In 2022, Ilhan Omar visited Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a territory unlawfully held by Pakistan. The trip, organised and funded by Islamabad, saw the Congresswoman echo Pakistani military propaganda, attempting to internationalise a bilateral issue.
India was swift to condemn the visit, stating, "If such a politician wishes to practice narrow-minded politics at home, that's her business, but violating our territorial integrity and sovereignty in its pursuit makes this ours, and we think the visit is condemnable."
2. Hinduphobic Resolution
In the same year, Omar and her colleague Rashida Tlaib spearheaded a House resolution (H.Res. 1196) accusing India of violating religious freedoms and urging the US to classify India as a “Country of Particular Concern.” This inflammatory resolution, based on distorted narratives, directly fuelled rising Hinduphobia, adversely impacting Hindu Americans.
3. Supporting Anti-India Protests
During the protests against India’s farm laws — widely seen as hijacked by vested interests — Omar lent her voice to a movement that quickly turned violent. She continued her support when the protests were linked to the Khalistan network.
In 2023, after law enforcement had to shut down the internet to curb the Khalistani unrest in Punjab, Omar fanned the flames, saying she was "profoundly concerned about the human rights situation in Punjab," pushing the separatist agenda.
4. Defending Article 370
Despite diplomatic warnings, Omar met with Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary, the so-called president of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and criticised India’s 2019 abrogation of Article 370, calling it a "deep concern." Her statements were in direct alignment with Pakistan’s anti-India rhetoric.
5. Peddling Unverified Allegations Against India
In 2024, Omar amplified Canadian accusations linking India to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in a gang conflict. “The allegations that Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar was assassinated by the Indian government are deeply concerning,” she stated, demanding a US investigation.
Canada has yet to provide evidence supporting its claims, but Omar’s rhetoric stirred the pot, fuelling further tensions.
Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
I think PAPPU is making obscene and total lies in US with all jihadi/BIF forces that are aligned with DS. But BJP fans and media are constantly repeating this in Twitter and TV millions of times giving this scumbag too much attention. May be he should be ignored and cry for some attention. There are also Jaipur dialogs and Aadi Achint kind of youtubers who are raising his profile to fill their shows.

I agree with you. Let us ignore the anti nationals.

Two locations I could find for signing petitions in support of the Waqf amendment bill (or even its full repeal):
https://www.hindujagruti.org/waqf-board-act (works only on mobiles)
https://www.change.org/p/completely-abolish-waqf-board
Please add any more that are credible. Hopefully sarkar is still accepting public inputs after Sep 10.

I have watched nearly every one of Pradeep Singh's 2,079 episodes, but this one (#2072) is his all-time best in my opinion.

Especially the subset of whining/shallow/self-absorbed posters should listen carefully. Pradeep starts with an example of Mohan Bhagwat but skilfully expands it into a highly instructive and educational session.

Arvind Kejriwal Resigns, Who Will Be Delhi's New CM?
https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/d ... 2024-09-15
In Short
Arvind Kejriwal says he will resign as Delhi Chief Minister in 2 days
Resignation announcement seen as strategic move for AAP ahead of Assembly polls
Arvind Kejriwal walked out of jail on Friday in liquor policy case
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced he would resign from his post in two days in a stunning move, two days after he got bail from the Supreme Court in the liquor policy case.
Arvind Kejriwal's decision to resign is seen as a strategic move, and he aims to position the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a fresh light ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. By deciding to step down, he could seek to paint himself as a martyr and fight against a corrupt system.
His narrative that he will only return as the Chief Minister with a fresh mandate adds weight to his announcement. The move could galvanise public support and translate into votes for AAP, particularly if the elections are held alongside those in Maharashtra and Jharkhand in November.
