It's a financing scheme not grant. FM expects private sector to borrow (possibly with interest subsidy) to spend on basic research and prototype development. I don't see that happening.We will be lucky if private sector spends even a quarter of that amount.

Completely agree Sudeepj. We have to start preparing to develop MT devices. Our only reliable weapon now is the fission device. It will still take a while and by the time a MT device is ready for testing we will be a 8-10 trillion economy. At that time sanctions on India will not be an option.

Last time BJP won 27 of the 28. Alliance with JDS should result in a clean sweep this time. People already regret voting in Congress. Other than minorities, I don't see any other community backing Congress. I am not sure about the ground situation in Mysore region.

So the earliest we can expect MCA is 2030. Add the expected delays in AON, CCS clearance etc. I doubt if the series production can begin before 2033. It's better to order 100 more MK1a and focus on AMCA.
