Copper lines for fuel are not a good idea. The marine industry has legislated against same due to numerous failures leading to fires.

There is always water lost in a steam plant. To top up this water desalinated water is used, Depending on the water requirement of the whole vessel , If high a reverse osmosis plant is used, if low an evaporator running off the reacor or engine cooling water can be used.
