Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
We are not living on a dying planet. World population is projected to reach maximum by 2100 and after that decline steadily. This is already happening in Japan, Spain etc (they have maxed out) . Human life quality has gone up consistently, decade on decade for quite a while. No reason why it should...

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
Well, not all are interested in manned space flights. I may find myself part of a minority set (of at least three - your truly and presumably sanjaykumar, and Bade) but that would not stop me from holding forth my view that manned space flight will go the route of Dodo. Four! Include me in. I have ...

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
i have an idea, hope isro officials at least give it a thought... PSLV is i guess the cheapest way in the world to put small (1-1.5 tones) payloads in LEO. how about making it a tiny space ferry for tourists? a very small capsule like mercury redstone, would take rich space enthusiast around the wor...

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
i mean no disrespect but why does ISRO allow prof. yashpal talk in every post launch speeches? i bet he's not a part of any technical team for those launches. today, he couldn't even describe the cryogenic engine's maiden achievement well. every time he thanks ISRO for even allowing his speech and s...

Re: GSLV-D5 Launch status and post launch discussions
BRILLIANT . This is a FU AMERICA launch. They tried blocking India's path in science and technology by blocking the Russian ToT for the cryogenic stage (while themselves getting the RD-180 stage , lock stock and barrel including full manufacturing rights). ISRO has given them the birdie and told th...

Re: GSLV-D5 Launch status and post launch discussions

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
Pitch and yaw control of the PSLV during the thrust phase of the solid motor is achieved by injection of an aqueous solution of strontium perchlorate in the nozzle to constitute Secondary Injection Thrust Vector Control System (SITVC). The injection is stored in two cylindrical aluminum tanks strap...

Re: Indian Space Programme Discussion
i've a doubt about PSLV: since all strap-ons and 1st stage are solid fuel engines, how does PSLV make the "pitch" maneuver? the solid engine nozzles could be gimbled too? it doesnt even have fins to aerodynamically maneuver.

well i think its just another "blown out of proportion" media stunt, but... if it is true then... well all i can say is, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?" we cannot even put 2,000 Kg satellite in orbit and these freaks are dreaming about manned lunar missions which requires capa...
