Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

A Hypothetical question to the gurus. Given a choice, which should be GoI's focus from 2019 onwards, go up in HDI and get whatever growth as a result of that or go up in scale of economy and get whatever HDI as a result What scenarios might come to pass in 10-12 years if we follow one of them? I am...

Re: Renewable Sources of Energy

Concrete is not that dense, more like 2.5x of water. Because dams must be built on rivers at very specific locations that provide suitable storage and gradient for power generation, dams and pumping stations are large operations. But new technology would/could follow a different model. These kind of...

It was a sad day for the '324' t-shirts :( Don’t be sad my friend, it is 324 only! Put on your T-shirt with pride and...

We won't let you see our product, but you can buy it and fly it. FFS https://udaipurkiran.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/sitharaman-visits-dassault-aviation-plant...

Killing innocent youths, five of them, in cold blood after abducting them under a major general’s supervision can’ be excused on the basis of intenseness of the theatre. Being in battle is not a joke.. At the end of the day, being in an armed service is a job of human butchery. You identify an enem...

Re: Indian Army News & Discussions - 11 June 2014

When one says division, what do we mean? An infantry Div would have 10K man, an armored or Artillery Div would have less than a third of that number. IBG - Would have Infantry (~6K) but it'll also have it's own armor, artillery, air defense, signal and helis too. That makes it pretty darn plump post...

Energy needs of a pump motor depend on the head needed for the flow since the tank are located at same level energy requirements would be minimal.

Re: Indian Missiles News & Discussions - May 2017

As per what I understand from various open sources is that In tail chase mode the range gets reduced to a forth (more of a rule of thumb than exact) of head on range. So a 400KM range missile could claim that it has 100KM of no escape zone. Beyond that the aircraft has high probability to escape. So...

Re: VayuSena Rafale: News and Discussions - 17 Oct 2016

Its not just quality issues. I remember Manohar Parrikar explaining a few things in 2015 in some interview. The key reason why the first deal with 126 jets fell through is because - HAL quoted 2.xx times more man hours for the same work. When the manufacturing cost was multiplied with this number a...

Re: Renewable Sources of Energy

Why do you think that those flows are not trivial? One can buy a pump of that size (300 lpm) for less than $2K. Those flow rates are very small and can be handled with a small man portable pump. Even chemical pump designed for harsh environment would not cost more than $5K, Even human heart, size of...

For a corruption case to stick, it needs a real person who benefitted from it. It also needs the media to lead the charge not the partisan politicians alone. This case lacks both these critical factors. If corruption happened, who benefitted from it? Who took money from chota Bhai or Dassault? Modi,...
