Buying migs would most certainly be a suicide and the IAF even with all its love for Natashas is not insane. Not gonna happen! Those planes are unaffordably expensive to operate that is if and when they are operable at all.

I think Shukla has hit the nail in the head! That is exactly the problem with that said there other major issues as pointed by post above which cause IN to do it. In general we like to buy weapons in small chunks. Su30s were bought in 4-5 different orders. What a deal we could have received if we ha...

There is one more reason for low weight/height of indian children that Modi pursued vigorously to fix in Gujrat and than folloing it up at national level too. Hygiene is very important to reduce infant from getting sick and be weakened for rest of their lives.

GHI can only get data from GoI unless it hires a few thousand employees to do it's own survey. It is well known fact for a century that we really fare badly on the universal hunger indicator where weight/height of under 5 year old children are compared with world average. Hindu diet of no or very li...

Re: Currency Demonetisation and Future course of Indian Economy

You are right. Airindia is running losses over 30k corers. PSU banks need more than Rs2 lakh corer of capital that govt does not have. Organized Labor won't allow disinvestment below 50% and govt can not cough up that kind of moolah which means not enough money to lend so whole economy is screwed.

Premnath ji, I'm not trying to diss RR. I acknowledge his expertise on economic matters, as I studied in the same institution he did. In my opinion if RR had not quit from RBI, Indian economy and Modi govt would have been much better off today. People of his caliber, skills and experience are so rarer to find that you can count them on your fingers. Panagariya is also leaving for similar reasons that is tenure and cushy life of a ...

I am always for the domestic aircraft but not this one. J35 or Rafael would be preferred choices. LCA sho...

For 25 km altitude how far can you put it from where the missile is going to land? I thought all SAM provide a bubble of protection zone around target. This situation is a lot different than what is was in 1960s. Comeon man, don't put words in my mouth and than argue against them. I said flankers are from USSR era u can't change that to MKI, a very specific flanker version, which is a hybrid 4Th gen aircraft.

U ask what is pakfa - its a prototype, with limited future if any.

From numerous media reports we heard that Mig35 was a miserable failure in Indian MRCA contest. Flankers are a USSR leftover bit and to make them contemporary, India had to MKIzed them. People even buy Bandar-17 but that does not make it a contemporary fighter. We will soon hear of a Mig40 and Su40 ...

That makes sense, because higher average velocity at higher altitude would give gravity lesser time to pull it down so it will hit higher at target.
