His political viewpoint (and favoritism to F-35) aside, I have never seen an article from him which is critical of desi systems. We should give the man his due, where he deserves it. I think this is correct assesment of Shukla. His politics is sickening but he is patriotic man and have been consist...

Looks like few 414s are already here waiting for Mk2.

As per news that came out of AeroIndia 2017, 2 engines were already delivered by then and six more were scheduled for delivery by the dnd of the year. So ADA should have 8 engines by now.

1. I favour re-engining the Jaguars. 2026-2030 is still a decade away. No point throwing away good airframes. Well, we have to sign a deal with Honeywell, carry out the necessary mods and then install the engines. Assuming the contract is signed next year, it'll probably be 2022-23 by the time the ...

Natural gas is replacing coal and it will be replaced by solar in coming years. Its simple economic math whatever is cheaper wins. Coal was always cheapest until fracking made gas the cheapest fuel in USA. It seems now solar is cheaper than gas in some places at least

Thermal power plants don't run all the time either, in the night they go down to trickle too. Solar works on full capacity when demand is at it's highest and automatically goes down as demand reduces. Peak demand in the afternoon is usually 2x of the demand after midnight so solar fits in there per...

So far in last 6 months solar has outbid 2 commercial contract which were designed to be fuel neutral. Re: Indian Missiles News and Discussions - May 2017

Weight savings from composite motor casing are significant but it’s not the only major factor in choosing it over maraging steel. 1 cubic meter of maraging steel weighs > 8000kg Kevlar would weight 1400kg Graphite/carbon would weigh 2200 kg. So weight savings are huge but once you move to composite ...

Possible but doesn't make sense to buy this fancy high speed machine and use it as conventional CNC. High speed is paired with shallow cuts so you don't really gain much in throughput if you are making simple parts. But your point about recertification is also valid, not sure how much experience HAL...
