speed of sound is obviously varies with density but if mach is not fixed for calculating mach numbers, does that means when we say the speed of an aircraft is mach2.2 at an altitude of 15km we are correcting the value of 1mach for that altitude?

Wrong..... the shortest distance from western balochistan to indian border is more than 600km if deployed right way in indian borders and afganistan boost phase interception is best. In case the gurus havent caught this already, pause at 41 sec and it shows some very interesting specs for prithvi based AXO
from that low-res video it looks like the burn-time is 108.5 sec while the time to flight is 125 sec
eagerly waiting for an in-depth technical analysis :)

yeah... i was calculating the range of SSM only anyways so you are basically saying a SAM reaches an altitude and then travels in an approximately flat trajectory thus we can do range= time*speed if we neglect the time missile took to climb that altitude this maybe right for small to medium range SA...
