Army Pfc. Naser Jason Abdo was AWOL from Fort Campbell, Ky., when he was arrested with bomb-making materials on July 27, 2011, at America’s Best Value Inn and Suites in Killeen, Texas, near Fort Hood.
..........
According to the criminal complaint, Abdo had smokeless gunpowder, pressure cookers, clocks, shotgun shells and other components that could be used to build "destructive devices," and an article titled “Make a bomb in the kitchen of your Mom.” He also had obtained a military uniform with Fort Hood patches.
In a recorded police interview, Abdo said he was planning to pull off an attack in the Fort Hood area "because I don't appreciate what my unit did in Afghanistan," according to an Associated Press report.
Defense attorneys argued for acquittal on grounds Abdo's plot did not go past the planning stage.
Abdo joined the army in April 2009.
But in 2010, he refused to deploy to Afghanistan with his unit, telling reporters at the time that he had come to believe it was at odds with his Muslim faith.

The Coptic women have been targeted before - on the excuse and example of Mariam. One of the problems is that the English language media fails to pick up regional language mullah fulminations. Its not just Christians, the Jews too have now been targeted for their women. Mullahcracy everywhere demand that the non-Muslim must give up their land, property, and women and leave - if they want to be alive - and it is done on the claim of precedence by the founder. I have been given transcripts of the religious meetings campaigns from BD and Egypt. Of course it could be dismissed as psy-ops by vilifiers of the religion. But at least for some of the material, I can check out the videos myself - as the material coming from Sylhet.Anindya wrote:Just from the from the last few weeks....

Romney’s Israel claim fits in with GOP’s Muslim ‘Southern Strategy
Romney’s Israel claim fits in with GOP’s Muslim ‘Southern Strategy
When Mitt Romney claimed that Israel’s “culture” is responsible for its economic superiority, he was recycling the “Southern Strategy”— this time with Muslims and Arabs added to the mix.
The GOP devised the Southern Strategy in the 1960s and ’70s as a way to win over white voters with subtle racial messages about crime and welfare. African-American men were coded as criminals to be locked up, and poverty was presented as a product of “black culture” not to be encouraged through government “handouts.” Romney’s backhanded hailing of Palestinian “culture” fits this framework.
The election of President Obama in 2008 — and Democratic victories in states like Virginia and North Carolina that year — signaled a blow to the traditional Southern Strategy. Yet if Obama’s African-American roots were no longer going to be as useful, his Muslim familial connections would quickly rise to prominence. Obama was “accused” during his campaign of being a “secret Muslim,” a charge that would come back again and again. Amazingly, even today 17 percent of the public believes he’s Muslim. A whopping 34 percent of conservative GOP voters identify him as Muslim, more than twice the level during his presidential campaign in 2008.The new GOP Southern Strategy highlights Muslims and Arabs as the key threats to national security and “law and order,” even while the old strategy persists.
Muslims and Arabs have been incorporated into the Southern Strategy, and Islamophobia will continue to thrive this election season unless people of conscience speak out.Deepa Kumar is the author of the new book “Islamophobia and the Politics of Empire.”

What conclusions do we draw from this? That fundamentalists and fascists have often relied on particular interpretations of the world's major religions to justify their actions. Yet, it is only Islam that apparently needs to be scrutinized."

on a more serious note, there have to be consequences for such behavior. if you insist on propagating blind hatred of Hindus, then there has to be a counter institutional architecture which delegitimizes it by various actions which also act as incentives to not do the same in future.

The palpable sense of Mohammadden entitlement that is evident in this particular case seems to be entirely misplaced. Going by the report published in 2009 by the UK based group, Civitas, I understand that in the first place Mohammaddenim prohibited the playing of Chess and this prohibition was based on what the Prophet of that religion had to say:
‘the Holy Prophet… stated the person who plays chess, is like the one who dips his hands in the blood of a swine (pig)’,

Men should be allowed sex slaves and female prisoners could do the job - and all this from a WOMAN politician from Kuwait

Men should be allowed sex slaves and female prisoners could do the job - and all this from a WOMAN politician from Kuwait
A Kuwaiti woman who once ran for parliament has called for sex slavery to be legalised - and suggested that non-Muslim prisoners from war-torn countries would make suitable concubines.
Salwa al Mutairi argued buying a sex-slave would protect decent, devout and 'virile' Kuwaiti men from adultery because buying an imported sex partner would be tantamount to marriage.
And she even had an idea of where to 'purchase' these sex-salves - browsing through female prisoners of war in other countries.
The political activist and TV host even suggested that it would be a better life for women in warring countries as the might die of starvation.
Mutairi claimed: 'There was no shame in it and it is not haram' (forbidden) under Islamic Sharia law.'
She gave the example of Haroun al-Rashid, an 8th century Muslim leader who ruled over an area covered by modern-day Iran, Iraq and Syria and was rumoured to have 2,000 concubines.
Mutairi recommended that offices could be opened to run the sex trade in the same way that recruitment agencies provide housemaids.
She suggested shopping for prisoners of war so as to protect Kuwaiti men from being tempted to commit adultery or being seduced by other women's beauty.
'For example, in the Chechnyan war, surely there are female Russian captives,' she said.
'So go and buy those and sell them here in Kuwait. Better than to have our men engage in forbidden sexual relations.'
Her unbelievable argument for her plan was that ‘captives’ might 'just die of hunger over there'.
She insisted, 'I don’t see any problem in this, no problem at all'.
In an attempt to consider the woman's feelings in the arrangement, Mutari conceded that the enslaved women, however, should be at least 15.
Mutairi said free women must be married with a contract but with concubines 'the man just buys her and that’s it. That’s enough to serve as marriage.'
Her remarks, made in a video posted on YouTube last month and carried by newspapers in the Gulf states in recent days, have sparked outrage in cyber-space from fellow Kuwaitis and others in the wider region.
'Wonder how Salwa al Mutairi would’ve felt if during the occupation (of Kuwait) by Iraqi forces, she was sold as ‘war booty’ as she advocates for Chechen women,' tweeted Mona Eltahawy.
Another tweeter, Shireen Qudosi, told Mutairi 'you’re a disgrace to women everywhere'.
For Muna Khan, an editor at the Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television station, the 'icing on the cake' of Mutairi’s 'preposterous views' was her assertion that her suggestions do not conflict with the tenets of Islam.
Mutairi said that during a recent visit to Mecca, she asked Saudi muftis – Muslim religious scholars – what the Islamic ruling was on owning sex slaves. They are said to have told her that it is not haram.
The ruling was confirmed by 'specialized people of the faith' in Kuwait, she claimed.
'They said, that’s right, the only solution for a decent man who has the means, who is overpowered by desire and who does not want to commit fornication, is to acquire jawari.' Jawari is the plural of the Arabic term jariya, meaning 'concubine' or 'sex slave'.
One Saudi mufti supposedly told Mutairi: 'The context must be that of a Muslim nation conquering a non-Muslim nation, so these jawari have to be prisoners of war.' ((How very convenient to have such cooperative clergy))
Concubines, she argued, would suit Muslim men who fear being 'seduced or tempted into immoral behaviour by the beauty of their female servants'.

In exchange, Hamburg city authorities will declare Eid al-Adha ("Festival of Sacrifice"), Eid ul-Fitr (the end of Ramadan), and the Day of Ashura ("Day of Mourning"), officially recognised holidays.

French rioters from France's Muslim former colonies
French rioters from France's Muslim former colonies
At least three drivers were pulled from their cars, which were used, along with dozens of dustbins, to form barricades. About a dozen other vehicles were burnt in the violence, which follows months of tension in a city otherwise known best for its 13th-century cathedral. Police responded by firing flashballs and teargas at the rioters.
“The confrontations were very, very violent,” said Gilles Demailly, the Mayor of Amiens.
A farmer who lives in a village a mile from the estates described the shock as rural France came face to face with urban anger. “It felt like we were in a Western,” said the cereal producer, who asked not to be named. “There was shooting all over the place and the smell of burning rubber everywhere.
“I went out when I heard people driving up to the farm at about midnight. I thought they were local folk, but then I saw they had masks covering their faces. I got into my tractor to get away, but they threw iron bars at the windows, which exploded.”
Sylvie Ramet, the head teacher at Voltaire primary school, was stunned to discover the blackened remains of the building after the night's violence. “There are no words to describe what I feel. I'm weak at the knees. The place where I work has just been annihilated. It's just senseless to attack a school in this way. It's incomprehensible.”
A blog posted on a French website, apparently by one of the rioters, who called himself 8Z, included a video that showed dozens of youths cheering as they set fire to dustbins.
The blog portrayed the council estates of Amiens as the setting for high unemployment and “oppression by fascist police” - a familiar complaint from immigrant community youths, who say that they are targeted under stop-and-search policies.
It described the rioters as “the opposition” and ran through the list of the mostly Muslim former French colonies from which it said they were from: “Algerians, Tunisians, Moroccans, Gabonese, Malians and Cameroonians, we are all here and we are opposing.”

Re: Islamism & Islamophobia Abroad - News & Analysis
Perhaps not. Each of these days have specific connotations of gradual assertion of power in the early foundations of Islam. They were all started as specifically Muslim rituals i[even if the first two are traceable to a mix of Judaic and pre-Islamic Arab practices] in the founding days in particularly interesting circumstances : this was specifically the time when the small founding group was trying to establish itself at Jewish controlled Yathrib after moving out from Mecca. The tone at this stage was conciliatory, and of "compromise".Anindya wrote:Hamburg signs historic deal with Muslims

In later literature this period is explained as a tactical stage of getting accepted and neutralizing suspicion. Yathrib Jews would not have given them permission to settle around the oasis network, if Muslims did not show an eagerness to adopt "Judaic" memes. The strategy of allying with most factions of Jews around yathrib, to eliminate an isolated faction fo Jews started after some 2-3 years here. The target of the Muslims as shown by the resulting consequences - was the fertile oasis lands, young Jewish women, and wealth the jews had accumulated working the land. It was a cleanout operation over the next 10 years, after which it was renamed Medina.

Sons sell off mother for Rs30,000

"My husband belongs to the Shiekh clan and my sons had threatened to kill me if I remarried. That was why they sold me," says Bashiraan Bibi.
HAFIZABAD: Two men sold their mother for Rs30,000 to a man who kept her tied up and raped her for three days. The accused have been arrested by police officials.
Mohalla Saghar Hafizabad resident Bashiraan Bibi said that she had nine sons and daughters and her husband had died four years ago.
Bashiraan said that her older sons Ansar and Ghazanfar used to abuse her frequently. A few days ago, the men sold her to village Mehdiabad resident Abbas for Rs30,000. “Abbas tied me up for three days and tortured me. He raped me several times,” she told the police. Bashiraan said that she escaped Abbas’s custody after four days and reached the residence of one of her relatives.
Bashiraan then married Hafiz Bashir in the court of civil judge Iftikharul Nabi.
“My husband belongs to the Shiekh clan and my sons had threatened to kill me if I remarried. That was why they sold me,” she said. Bashiraan has sought police protection from her sons and said that she wanted police officials to arrest them. On her application, City Police have registered cases against Ansar, Ghazanfar and Abbas. City Police Station House Officer (SHO) Syed Airf Hussain Shah said that the police had arrested Ansar and Ghazanfar and were still investigating the whereabouts of Abbas.
