Blatant lie. The opposite of what you said it 'True'. Chinese members drag 'India' in each and every discussion. I agree.I say mods should delete everything that is non Chinese military related in this thread, regardless who and what.

Japan Answers Chinese Plane With Fighter Jets
Japan scrambled fighter jets over contested islands in the East China Sea after a small Chinese propeller plane entered what Tokyo considers its airspace.
Coming just three days before general elections in Japan, Thursday's move sharply escalates territorial tensions that have already damaged economic relations between the two neighbors.
The Japanese government said that eight F-15 fighter planes from the Air Self-Defense Force were dispatched to airspace over the islands after coast-guard patrol vessels confirmed the presence of a single Chinese aircraft 15 kilometers south ...

Re: China Military Watch - Jan 11, 2011
I have enjoyed all that has happened in the last few pages since the "We must not underestimate China" group has been kicked out of this thread. What it has shown is that the Chinese have absolutely nothing to show which backs there claim of technological == with west and when questioned they deride India instead of answering the questions which further shows that all there claims are smokescreens only.

(Reuters) - Japan scrambled fighter jets on Thursday after a Chinese government plane entered for the first time what Japan considers its airspace over disputed islets in the East China Sea, escalating tension between Asia's two biggest economies.
Japan protested to China over the incident but China brushed that off saying the flight by the Chinese aircraft was "completely normal".
Sino-Japanese relations took a tumble in September after Japan bought the tiny islands, called Senkaku in Japan and Diaoyu in China, from a private Japanese owner.
Patrol ships from the two countries have been shadowing each other since then in a standoff that has raised concern that a collision could escalate into a clash. Thursday's incident was the first time both sides used aircraft in the dispute.
"Despite our repeated warnings, Chinese government ships have entered our territorial waters for three days in an row," Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Osama Fujimura told reporters.
"It is extremely regrettable that, on top of that, an intrusion into our airspace has been committed in this way," he said, adding that Japan had formally protested through diplomatic channels.
Japan's military scrambled eight F-15 fighter jets, the Defense Ministry said. Japanese officials later said the Chinese aircraft had left the area.
It was the first time a Chinese aircraft had intruded into Japan's airspace near the disputed islands, Japan Defense Ministry said.
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda later instructed the government to be "all the more on guard", the Kyodo news agency reported.
China's state maritime agency said a marine surveillance plane had joined four Chinese vessels patrolling around the islands and the fleet had ordered Japanese boats to leave the area immediately.
"The Diaoyu islands and affiliated islands are part of China's inherent territory. China's flight over the islands is completely normal," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a briefing in Beijing.
Japanese analysts said it was a significant escalation.
"This is serious ... intrusion into Japan's airspace is a very important step to erode Japan's effective control over the area," said Kazuya Sakamoto, a professor at Osaka University. "If China sends a military plane as a next step, that would really make Japan's control precarious."
Toshiyuki Shikata, a Teikyo University professor and a retired general, said the use of aircraft by both sides was significant.
"Something accidental is more likely to happen with planes than with ships," he said.
"SACRED TERRITORY"
The incident comes just days before a Japanese election that is expected to return to power the conservative Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) with hawkish former prime minister Shinzo Abe at the helm.
Abe has vowed to take a tough stance in the dispute over the islands, which are near potentially huge maritime gas reserves, and has said that the ruling Democratic Party's mishandling of its diplomacy had emboldened China.
Abe has also promised to boost spending on defense including on the coastguard.
Smaller Asian countries such as the Philippines have also become increasingly worried about Beijing's growing military assertiveness and its claims to disputed islands in the South China Sea.
U.S. President Barack Obama urged Asian leaders during a visit to the region in November to rein in tension over territorial disputes.
Washington does not take a position on the sovereignty of the islands but says they are clearly covered by a 1960 security treaty obliging the United States to come to Japan's aid if attacked.
China says the islands are its "sacred territory" and says its claim predates Japan's.
Nationalization of the islands in September was intended to keep them out of the hands of a fiery nationalist politician, to head off a more damaging confrontation with China.
But the move triggered a wave of protests in China that shuttered Japanese factories and stores, disrupted trade and prompted China to strengthen its own claim to the disputed territory. Japanese carmakers saw their sales in China slump in the weeks after the islands were sold.

So it's pretty clear that the assistance was magnanimous which helped Taiwan create an "indigenous" fighter aircraft but what puzzles me is why does a Chinese has to bring in Taiwanese "indigenous" fighter aircraft in "Chinese Military Watch Thread" to prove Chinese superiority in military tech ???The IDF jet fighter project was designed and built by the Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) based in Taichung, Taiwan, with assistance from American defense corporations.

And LCA has generous assistance from Dassault, GE and just about everybody else, yet you still consider it "indigenous". Don't you ? Chinese members only bring up India to point out the double standard and generally inconsistent logic of Indian posters. Next you'll tell me about Mao, the Little Red Book and the Great Leap Forward. LOL !!! Right??? That's usually the next stop on the idiocy train.

Oh, I forgot, the next idiocy station after the Little Red Book is some random insult on the Pakistanis using some racial pejorative. WTF?? Really?? ?? ?? Why always bring Pakistan into everything in a China thread? Stay on topic!!

India was put under arms embargo after the nuclear tests and all those "generous" assistance that you think we had vanished as well but still we have made a fighter jet which is pretty capable. This doesn't seem to be the case with your "indigenous" jet which had a continuous flow of assistance from western nations.
All this info came from the same place from where you chose the pic of your "indigenous" jet so thank you for posting that pic

Would love to see the display of consistent logic by Chinese posters atleast once in this thread before discussing what Indian posters are doing.wong wrote:Chinese members only bring up India to point out the double standard and generally inconsistent logic of Indian posters.

flonnetChina was getting into multiple independently targeted re-entry vehicles (MIRVs), which could be integrated with its DF-31 and DF-41 missiles. These missiles are capable of firing multiple warheads. The DF-41 missile, it is claimed, has a range of 12,000 km. Pakistan is also interested in acquiring MIRVs. “With the MIRVs, the efficacy of the missile defence shield becomes more challenging,”
China has a multilayered BMD shield. It has done interceptor tests in the exo-atmosphere, the endo-atmosphere and the mid-atmosphere. “Knowing the missile exchanges that have taken place between China and Pakistan, there is always a possibility of these missiles being developed in Pakistan with Chinese assistance,”
Re: China Military Watch - Jan 11, 2011
Actually, that's not true either. People write all kinds of crap on wikipedia. Taiwan officially claims China too. Taiwan for 60 years has/had governors and representatives in exile for every single province in China (sort of like your Indian backed Dalai Lama in exile). So you are a minority in your country. How sadIn a poll of Taiwanese aged 20 and older taken by the TVBS in March 2009, a majority of 64% opted for the status quo, while 19% favored independence and 5% unification.
