It wasn't an Israeli cultural stall. Nobody from Israel traveled or got a visa (not sure they can, because the country is not recognized by Pakistan and hence their passport is not recognized). It was a representation of Israel made by the talibs of the university itself as part of "Model United Nations" stalls.SSridhar wrote:Was this reported here ?

http://nation.com.pk/national/27-Oct-20 ... next-monthSLAMABAD- Army Chief, General Raheel Sharif, will visit the United States next month for talks on security and professional matters, the military said Monday. This will be Gen Sharif’s first visit to the United States as the army chief, a position he assumed on Nov 29, 2013. “The COAS (Chief of the Army Staff) will proceed for a bilateral visit to USA in Nov on invitation of the US. During the meeting the COAS will hold meetings with senior US security officials,” an army statement said. The army did not offer more comments on the visit. The visit is seen very important in view of the withdrawal of the most of the foreign troops from Afghanistan as Pakistan would be one of the major players to play role in the peace process. Reports say Gen Raheel Sharif will be paying the visit on invitation from Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen Martin Dempsey.
The people manning the stall have b@lls of steel. Ahem ! not the woman maybe..but still they should get bravery awards.Anujan wrote:It wasn't an Israeli cultural stall. IIU, where the mighty Abdullah Azzam once taught has been blasphemed. And everyone got their chaddis in a twist, burned some Israel flags. Next they'll send some "non-state actors" to infiltrate the Indian stall, and train some talibs to bomb the Afghanistan stall and demand money from the American stall.

Strange irony that. Altaf in 80s was what TuQ and Immi are today. i.e. establishment propped puppets against an elected civilian government. No I am not making it up, Just becasue Namria Salim has booked a ticket on a future space ride, makes it the first "First Pakistani in space" per *many* newspapers who also mention that "Pakistan's Space program which was started about a decade before ISRO .."But Namira Salim, the first Pakistani explorer to reach both poles, said India’s achievement had made the region proud. “The success of the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), Mangalyaan, is a giant leap for South Asia,” said Salim, (who has booked a ticket on Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic space project planned for 2015.)

Define "neuter-alized". By "neuter-alized" if you mean track 2 meetings have stopped completely, then no -Hari Seldon wrote: Modisarkar has effectively neuter-alized the track II sham. And the Pakis aren't in any position to mock or dock anything.
If you mean Modi sarkar will not give two hoots to the "recommendations" of track 2, then yes, that might happen but it remains to be seen. I just don't want my tax money to fund nonsense like track 2/3, aman ki asha etc.Alongside gunfire, India-Pakistan track-II talks continued in Dubai

Except that confrontation with India does not maximize anything for Pakistan. All it has got so far is a rather long track of losses to show for. More appropriate term to describe Paki behavior is insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different outcome. Not going to happen.CRamS wrote:partha wrote:^

On a purely rational level, I take one issue with Fair's thesis that TSP is irrational by pursuing policies that ostensibly hurt its national interests. She of course cites the growth of TTP etc and correctly argues that there would be no TTP f there were no Jaishe Mohammed.
So here is the issue. TSP does not consider that its policies are hurting their national interests. As we on BR have argued, status quo means TSP loses. There is no way, short of confrontation with India, that TSP can survive. It may not survive even after a confrontation with India. But it is banking on the possibility that India, out of fear of nuclear annihilation will make it the concessions it (TSP) badly needs to rejuvenate itself because India has much more to lose. So in this sense, is TSP not a rational selfish player, in the classic sense of game theory, i.e., pursuing a strategy that maximizes its benefit?
