Recoil from the GSH-6-30 would destroy the vehicle. Just read up about the problems it caused on the Mig-27 itself. It is a hellishly powerful gun. ANd what is the use-case for this? If there is a situation which requires 30mm fire-support you are better off using a BMP which provides better protection for its occupants as well.

The Indian Army's most recent weaponry acquisition: All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) outfitted with Konkurs anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) systems, is garnering considerable attention.

Pictures that have surfaced from the Indian Army Southern Command show Arctic Cat Alterra TBX 700 ATVs equipped with these lethal missiles, demonstrating a formidable combination of firepower and quickness.

Comparing these agile ATVs to conventional armoured vehicles reveals a number of benefits. Because of their reduced weight, they are perfect for rocky and isolated areas where they can easily negotiate uneven ground.

Furthermore, the Army can more affordably increase their firepower in key regions thanks to their affordable price when compared to tanks and other heavy vehicles.

Sir, i think the point of the vehicle is rapid mobility and portability of armor-busting firepower.

For firing the vehicle might be stationary with the driver and loader dismounted.

Added - in the photo, one can see the MBT in the back-ground. So maybe one can also think of this system as somewhat analogous to the 'loyal wingman' concept (albeit manned) - a cheaper, support system

What tanks need more than anything else is reccee. Such ATV are ideal due to low acoustic and visual signature.

This is an example of the Indian army making do with what they have. In terms of 3 Jawans on a 2 seater.

It's a compromise, but the best one given the available resources.

We indians are almost conditioned to pass it off as a positive thing with that much (ab)used word 'Jugaad'

But it is what it is and it's good that our troops have a compact, highly mobile ATGM carrier which also would be heli-portable to most locations (except the heights).

Would of course prefer to see a desi company make such ATVs in India. With desi ATGM system. And export them too.

I wish DRDO and the truck manufactures make an armored cabin which is plug in replaceable. All that glass is bullet friendly.

Makes two types of cabin : one for Ashok Leyland and another for Tata trucks.
All should have armor to resist small arms fire and a roof mounting for an MG.

It has been a belief, that, if the target can be seen, it will be hit. If it can be hit, it will be destroyed.

The solution used to be passive during the last several decades. In terms of camouflage and movements after night fall.

With the availability of drones everything and everyone is seen all the time. The solution is to develop the ability to disrupt the signals controlling the drones. Along with hard kill active defences capable of both detecting killing such drones.

Recognizing the danger we are looking to fast track the vehicle mounted jammers, to offer a protection bubble.

In the photo the Stinger is to knock off larger sized UAVs. For our use case we will need to have some ATVs in the squadron to sport .50 MMGs or equivalent for taking out the smaller drones.

The system down in the photo above was reportedly used by the USMC to bring down a medium size Houthi drone targeting a berthed ship in the gulf.

So it should have sufficient power to jam mini and micro drones used by the enemy at a tactical, localized level.

The form factor (fitted on ATVs) suggests that on board electrical requirements are doable, especially with add-on diesel electric generator APUs.

There could also be a buddy ATV modified for providing backup power/reserve fuel.

Just like how our airforce strike packages have the strikers, the jammers and the air cover elements executing a mission together.

Incidentally, I watched the linked video from Perun yesterday.

There is nothing wrong with experimental solutions in order to see what works in terms of dealing with emerging threats.

However, over a period of time such experiments will need to be formalised in order ensure uniformed solutions accross the board.

Jimny lightweight uses Petrol- easier to start in really cold weather and where oxygen is lesser, so hence can cover areas near LOC/LAC, Deserts, Narrow border paths etc, tactically making it easier , Army will have Safari, Trucks etc to take care of heavier requirements.
