Re: 26/11/2008: Never Forget. Never Forgive
26/11 was a case in which a band of ragtag 10 terrorists got inside the OODA loop of the Indian security apparatus and held a city of 20 million hostage for 3 days. I felt that the institutional incompetence of the Indian Security apparatus was being exposed on live TV.
NSG took too long deploy, Political leadership was trying to shield their Bakras, Navy MARCOS were nearby in CST but were not effectively deployed, Mumbai Police has Service Revolvers, Pistols, Rifles etc but could not effectively utilized them them to take out the terrorists. Individual bravery of Omble et al and pure dumb luck seems to saved the day. Lack of signal intelligence and jammer utilization from NSG and Security forces was evident. There was no one evesdropping on the walk talkie instructions being sent to the terrorists. Media behaved as an agent of the enemy with folks like Barkha Dutt and NDTV like in Kargil 1993 broadcasting NSG ingress via helicopter etc live giving tactical cues to the terrorists.
Ideally these terrorists should have been eliminated by Mumbai police itself in 30min post the first skirmish. It is interesting that top counter terrorist echelon of Mumbai police Shri Karkare, Salaskar et al all got ambushed and killed. This very likely due to overground spy networks in Mufti supporting the terrorist operation and the ATS team was guided into an ambush by design.

The US government is supporting India's request to extradite Tahawwur Rana, a suspect in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Rana has petitioned the US Supreme Court to block his extradition, but the US Solicitor General argues that the Indian charges against Rana are not identical to those he faced in a US federal court.

Recent interviews by ex-Marco Praveen Teotia:

Some excerpts about 26/11.
Before getting to the Taj
- The Marcos did not have CQB weapons and only had AKs with no sights available.
- Grenades were in short supply.
- No helmets were available and BPJs were not capable of stopping AK rounds.
- No communication sets were available, so they took some radios from the guards on duty.
At the Taj
- He was the point man so went into the room first, he then was hit and collapsed.
- When he regained consciousness, he was alone in the room and claims his buddy/team abandoned him.
- He threw the one grenade he had, but it did not explode.
- His team then threw a tear gas canister in the room which fell near him, he then fired back at the terrorists, hit one of them and managed to make it out.
Post Operation:
- He says no one from the Marcos ever visited him at the hospital.
- Claims his unit wanted him to die so they would get more glory.
- Marcos did not recommend him for the Shaurya Chakra. He does not know who did.
- MH govt. tried to give him Rs. 50k but he refused.

US Supreme Court clears Mumbai-attack convict Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India - New Indian Express
Never Forget, Never ForgiveThe US Supreme Court has cleared Mumbai-attack convict Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India as it dismissed a review petition against his conviction in the case.
India was seeking the extradition of Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, as he was wanted in the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks case.
This was Rana's last legal chance not to be extradited to India.
Earlier, he lost a legal battle in several federal courts, including the US Court of Appeals for the North Circuit in San Francisco.
On November 13, Rana filed a petition for a writ of certioraribefore the US Supreme Court.
This was denied by the apex court on January 21, a day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the American President.
"Petition DENIED," the Supreme Court said.
Rana is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.

After 7 years trial set for resumption
The trial of LeT suspect Zabiuddin Ansari, alias Abu Jundal, accused of coordinating the 26/11 Mumbai attacks from Karachi, is set to resume after seven years.
Bombay HC Monday set aside as "wholly unsustainable" and "misdirected" a 2018 court order directing Delhi Police to hand over certain "sensitive documents" to Jundal, who claimed he was arrested in Saudi Arabia and not in Delhi.

Kasab, ordered by his handler to wear the Kalava, the sacred Hindu thread, was not meant to be captured alive. That he ultimately was, by Tukaram Omble, ruined the plans of Pakistan, and many in India, of proclaiming 26/11 as a Hindu conspiracy.
Inspector Omble. Forever in debt.

26/11 Mumbai Attack: How NSG Commandos Fought Back | Exclusive with Col Sundeep Sen
On the night of 26 November 2008, Mumbai was under siege. Ten heavily armed terrorists unleashed terror across the city — from CST Station to the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Trident, and Nariman House.
This exclusive conversation features Lt Colonel Sundeep Sen (Retd) — the Task Force Commander, National Security Guard (NSG) — who led Operation Nariman House, one of the most complex and dangerous missions of the 26/11 attacks.
In this powerful and unfiltered interview, Lt Col Sen recounts:
The first alert and how NSG was mobilized from Manesar that fateful night.
The ground realities, confusion, and coordination challenges faced in real time.
The courage and sacrifice of brave commandos.
The intense battle inside Nariman House — floor by floor, grenade by grenade.
The leadership lessons and emotional toll of leading men into a live terror zone.
How the NSG commandos fought back against all odds to end the siege and save countless lives.
This isn’t a movie. This is the real story of India’s elite counter-terror warriors, told by the man who was there.

Re: 26/11/2008: Never Forget. Never Forgive
Ujjwal Nikam’s interview with Hussain Zaidi is a terrifying look at how deep the rot went during 26/11.
To hear that #Delhi wanted to limit Ajmal Kasab’s chargesheet to just CST and Cama hospital, ignoring the larger Pakistani conspiracy, is proof of a deliberate attempt to protect the handlers across the border.
Nikam confirmation that there was pressure from Delhi to 'simplify' the case against Kasab is a slap in the face to every victim.
By trying to exclude the LeT handlers and the ISI link from the initial plan, Congress wanted the masterminds go scot-free.
If then Mumbai CP Hassan Gafoor and Nikam hadn't stood their ground, the world would have never seen the full face of state-sponsored terror.
This is why the Congress can never be trusted with national security.
Never forget.
Never forgive.

26/11 wasn’t just a terror op, it was a global intelligence spiderweb. SIGINT had already penetrated LeT & ISI via Wagner’s non-official channels in Dubai & Karachi. An American-Pakistani asset quietly harvested recon data, moonlighting in Afghan–Tajik drug routes. His rough network! A cocktail of jihad pipelines & narcotics corridors.
MI6 wrapped him up under controlled capture: narrative managed, secrets sealed in US courts. Liability too high, extradition off the table. Instead, he was neutralised but protected the perfect cut-out. He revived Pakistani smuggling routes, linked Gulf & Euro jihad cells, moved Chechen & IMU fighters through Pak/Afghan hubs. MI6 got gold dust intel on Central Asian jihad networks. CIA tolerated it as long as Taliban & Al-Qaeda pipelines stayed illuminated, Headley became their deniable bridge.
Post-1999, Moscow’s FSB & GRU blanketed Central Asia with HUMINT/SIGINT nets, quietly watching MI6 & CIA piggyback on LeT ops. Russia gained leverage: observing, infiltrating, and exploiting Western intel footprints. Headley’s recon data didn’t just go to LeT handlers, it was cross-leaked to British PMCs & Mossad-linked contractors. Shared assets, multiple handlers, infinite cut-outs. Bottomline: 26/11 wasn’t merely Pakistan’s Lashkar project. It was the collision point of MI6, CIA, ISI, FSB, Mossad & narco-jihad pipelines across Eurasia. A terror attack, yes. But also a lesson in how plausible deniability fuels global spy games.David Coleman Headley was a mixed race spy product. 26/11 also exposed a multilayered intelligence economy where deniable assets, narco-pipelines and jihadist corridors intersect. An American-Pakistani operator (David Coleman Headley) opened and tested pre-existing Central Asian and Pakistan arcs (Dushanbe → Uzbekistan/Kyrgyzstan; Karachi/Quetta → Mumbai/Delhi), mapping both human couriers and financial routes under the cover of business and NGOs. Those travel patterns gave Western debriefers and MI6 unparalleled visibility into Taliban/Al-Qaeda escape routes while preserving plausible deniability; in parallel the asset built an independent shadow economy heroin money, smugglers and facilitators, that blurred the lines between handler orders and personal profit. Post-1999 Russian HUMINT/SIGINT depth over Central Asia meant FSB/GRU could watch Western piggybacking and convert observation into leverage. The result: a geopolitically toxic feedback loop intelligence value extracted from violent networks, but with inevitable blowback as shared assets create cross-cutting loyalties, private narcotics revenue streams, and multiple cut-outs that survive any single agency’s control. For policymakers the takeaway is urgent: deny no longer, prioritize transparent multinational investigations into financial flows and facilitators, harden oversight of assets with criminal ties, and treat deniable intelligence gains as strategic risks, not freebies.
