26/11 was a case in which a band of ragtag 10 terrorists got inside the OODA loop of the Indian security apparatus and held a city of 20 million hostage for 3 days. I felt that the institutional incompetence of the Indian Security apparatus was being exposed on live TV.

NSG took too long deploy, Political leadership was trying to shield their Bakras, Navy MARCOS were nearby in CST but were not effectively deployed, Mumbai Police has Service Revolvers, Pistols, Rifles etc but could not effectively utilized them them to take out the terrorists. Individual bravery of Omble et al and pure dumb luck seems to saved the day. Lack of signal intelligence and jammer utilization from NSG and Security forces was evident. There was no one evesdropping on the walk talkie instructions being sent to the terrorists. Media behaved as an agent of the enemy with folks like Barkha Dutt and NDTV like in Kargil 1993 broadcasting NSG ingress via helicopter etc live giving tactical cues to the terrorists.

Ideally these terrorists should have been eliminated by Mumbai police itself in 30min post the first skirmish. It is interesting that top counter terrorist echelon of Mumbai police Shri Karkare, Salaskar et al all got ambushed and killed. This very likely due to overground spy networks in Mufti supporting the terrorist operation and the ATS team was guided into an ambush by design.

The US government is supporting India's request to extradite Tahawwur Rana, a suspect in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Rana has petitioned the US Supreme Court to block his extradition, but the US Solicitor General argues that the Indian charges against Rana are not identical to those he faced in a US federal court.

Recent interviews by ex-Marco Praveen Teotia:

Some excerpts about 26/11.

Before getting to the Taj
- The Marcos did not have CQB weapons and only had AKs with no sights available.
- Grenades were in short supply.
- No helmets were available and BPJs were not capable of stopping AK rounds.
- No communication sets were available, so they took some radios from the guards on duty.

At the Taj
- He was the point man so went into the room first, he then was hit and collapsed.
- When he regained consciousness, he was alone in the room and claims his buddy/team abandoned him.
- He threw the one grenade he had, but it did not explode.
- His team then threw a tear gas canister in the room which fell near him, he then fired back at the terrorists, hit one of them and managed to make it out.

Post Operation:
- He says no one from the Marcos ever visited him at the hospital.
- Claims his unit wanted him to die so they would get more glory.
- Marcos did not recommend him for the Shaurya Chakra. He does not know who did.
- MH govt. tried to give him Rs. 50k but he refused.

US Supreme Court clears Mumbai-attack convict Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India - New Indian Express
The US Supreme Court has cleared Mumbai-attack convict Tahawwur Rana's extradition to India as it dismissed a review petition against his conviction in the case.

India was seeking the extradition of Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, as he was wanted in the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks case.

This was Rana's last legal chance not to be extradited to India.

Earlier, he lost a legal battle in several federal courts, including the US Court of Appeals for the North Circuit in San Francisco.

On November 13, Rana filed a petition for a writ of certiorari”before the US Supreme Court.

This was denied by the apex court on January 21, a day after Donald Trump was sworn in as the American President.

"Petition DENIED," the Supreme Court said.

Rana is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.
