Targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan will be pointless.

Pakistan has not learnt its lesson, post Balakot. The ante has to upped and the Pakistan Army needs to feel pain.

Pakistan Army = Terrorists. There is no distinction between the two.

A strike will indeed occur, as PM Modi has publicly stated so. The time and place of the attack is for the Armed Forces to decide and they will execute. But they are not here to massage our egos and our (genuine) hurt. We have to leave it in their hands, who has the intel on the targets and has the experience in the conduct of war.

The Armed Forces are under no obligation to reveal the time & nature of the attack to the citizenry, as that would take away the element of surprise a.k.a. in the words of Former President GW Bush.....Shock & Awe

sajaym wrote: 01 May 2025 21:59 This thread has now reached the 18th page without a response. This shows how important it was to have had something like a 'Cold Start' doctrine even for terrorist attacks. A 'Cold Response' would have been:
1. Target all the Paki posts immediately with artillery
2. Target all terrorist camps near the border with artillery/ drone strikes
3. Cause quid pro quo terror attacks within Pakistan.

Instead... while we were sitting and sabre-rattling, the Pakistanis have emptied their posts, emptied their terrorist camps near the border and grabbed the global eyeballs with their constant threats & claims. I bet that the slowness of our response must be even disgusting our Allies. Turns out that the first response of the 'First Responder' of this region to a massacre of civilians within its country...was to announce a series of measures. MEASURES!! not a bullet, shell or bomb but MEASURES!!

Meanwhile media houses and fanboys are dreaming up deadly scenarios of punitive strikes and the IMMINENT collapse & disintegration of Pakistan. We are not Indians, we are now Bollywoodians!
Sirji - brain surgery requires a little deeper planning and thought versus stitching up a superficial wound. You need to carefully study the MRIs, plan for contingencies, anesthetize the patient etc.

The steps outlined in 1 through 3 for the Pakis is like water off a duck's back. Maybe they lose a few jawans at the post and jihadis in terrorist camps etc. They are all expendable and can be replenished easily. For Terroristanis, terror attacks is par for the course in their everyday life. They can spin the story that the Indians fired on a bunch of crows and trees and they gave a befitting reply to chase the Indians away. So no loss of H&D.

However, visible loss of Paki territory or personal assets of the top brass of the TSPA will hit home harder. I like Maj Gaurav Arya's approach of periodic mowing of the lawn.

The IWT abeyance is far more important than a few jihadi corpses. Moreover, I don’t think Kashmiris can be recruited to the cause of supplying more Kashmiri water to Pakistan.

Sitting in our AC rooms on laptop keyboards, we all love kinetic actions. bomb, bomb, bomb....
in reality, once action starts, the control will be difficult, and soon we will start losing soldiers & officers and pilots. same folks will then start demanding stop stop and accuse govt of incompetence and reckless and trigger happy.

our leadership is not rushing into doing things. armed forces will plan and take the right and controlled punitive action.
political leadership has already scrapped IWT. this step itself will cause more casualties over the next few years than 1000 bombs. this is more punitive with least cost (in terms of lives of our soldiers) to us.
so relax. chill. and trust our leadership.

I am not sure if we can connect the delay to respond kinetically with any capabilities gap. I would rather wait longer to do this right than rush into doing stuff. Also we need the let the Paki's do some dancing to understand their plan and also get ourselves with some element of surprise. However this time I am expecting we will be hitting some permanent assets of the Pakis than some canon fooder terrorist camp. We need a bit of longer term solution with our kinetic action and that takes time to plan.

For those who is interested there is a good reading material by VatsRohit on India and Pakistan army capabilities including Anti Tank missiles, canal based defence system built by Pakistan etc. Considering that India aggressively doing a water war now can we mess with the Pakistan canal based defence system? I did a quick read of this blog on canals and don't fully remember the details. For those who don't know Pakistan can use canals to seriously disrupt Indian tank movements or trap them by flooding the canals and nearby areas. Tanks will be stuck in the mud and will be an easy target. Link below.

UK urges India and Pakistan to de-escalate situation, saying it is ‘incredibly dangerous’
LONDON: The UK govt is urging India and Pakistan to de-escalate and return to dialogue whilst one Tory peer is calling on Britain to “directly intervene”.
British foreign minister Lord Collins of Highbury said during a debate on the Pahalgam terror attack in the House of Lords on Wednesday that the situation between the two nuclear powers is “incredibly dangerous”.
He said it requires all allies to come together to “ensure that we de-escalate”. “We are going to work with all international and regional partners to ensure that we create the conditions where there can be dialogue, which is not taking place at the moment,” Collins said.
Tory peer Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, former South Asia minister, called for “direct intervention” by the UK govt. “What is needed is direct intervention. The UK has a unique role to play. I propose that a special emissary is appointed right now to go to the region to speak to both countries on behalf of our prime minister to ensure not just de-escalation but that vital, discreet dialogue is sustained, maintained and strengthened between the UK and both countries to ensure that escalation does not happen. What happens in that part of the world will not stay in that part of the world,” he warned.

So right now, we are past countries urging for de-escalation and UN resolutions. India will respond when she responds. We have got enough legitimacy to do that based on Paki behavior for this many years. So while diplomats can and will do their work, I don't see this thing getting resolved diplomatically. What can the Pakis do? Ask their Army give up their primary stated goal of killing Indians no matter what.

Even if hit by China, it may serve interests to degrade Pak now rather than face a combined ChinPak at China's time of choosing.

Why should it matter if China is behind the attack or someone else? It was executed by Pakistan. That should be enough for us to teach them a lesson. We should use this as an "opportunity" and change the LoC. Even if we grab a few square km, it will be worth it.

Those guys are escalating matters rapidly.

This was after the IB was still deciding whether to fry fawad's (khan) paki butt, after nuking his Indian bollywood made film so no release for fried fawad in India.

And we are still importing paki made Shaan masalas which they repack in and say made in dubai and god knows what else stuff is coming in slyly.

Appears a psychological warfare between India and terr0istan.

Namo govt publicly have said they will avenge t he terror in pahalgam.

Terr0istan is spooked as nothing is happening on ground.

Namo is doing Chai samosas meeting with defence chiefs and other personnel. Appears serious silent.

OTOH Al flies to Mumbai to deliver speech at WAVES summit about content creation, orange economy etc. as if everything is going well in India. Participation by over 75 countries of entertainment I industry and IT sector.
:rotfl:

Meanwhile terr0istan is sweating bricks literally.

-------------

Terr0istan cannot match India completely.it wants a "hot quick" war. It can have its best match here inflicting as much casualties on in India as possible. These pests don't care about their casualties.

Best course for India with minimal casualties but maximum yield is slow prolonged conflict at multi faceted directions.

India has the economic and political heft to conduct these type of conflicts. Leadership material is great to navigate with patience and finesse.

Slow roasting of suvaar is what we need. Once they lower their guard of exhaustion, then strike in big way.

Keep chipping away their economy and army.

I am beginning to kinda like this game of slow methodical choking of these scums.(Aam aadmi onlee)

US/Rubio uvacha

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/01/worl ... ation.html
U.S. and U.N. Urge De-escalation Between India and Pakistan
In his exchange with Mr. Jaishankar, Mr. Rubio “reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to cooperation with India against terrorism” but also encouraged New Delhi to work with Pakistan to “de-escalate tensions and maintain peace and security,”
Shortly after the terrorist attack, President Trump seemed inclined to stay out of the dispute: On April 25, Mr. Trump said he was friendly with both countries and noted that they had long been at odds.

Four days later, a State Department spokeswoman, Tammy Bruce, told reporters at a news conference that Mr. Rubio was “encouraging other national leaders, other foreign ministers, to also reach out to the countries on this issue.”
All signs are pointing towards no military action. IWT abrogation seems to be an convenient excuse for everyone involved. Both nations can pretend this is a bigger action than armed conflict and in a few years we are back to square 1.

:D Are we thinking that India gives so much credence for US or UK making statements? They know India will do what she decides to do. Also why are we all in a hurry? URI strike took us 11 days. Balakote happened in 12 days. Kailash range operations happened in 3 months. If we are going for a larger strike and if the commanders were given freehand, they will work this out in a way that we will succeed.

No we actually don't :)

But we can call out empty/hypocritical/hollow statements when a narrative is sought to be pushed.

And we can point out the difference in the US statements when for e.g Israel is attacked and when India is attacked.

Different times different context. Also we need to stomach the possibility of casualties while trying to achieve the political objective. Op Parakaram did not have clear political or military objective. We learnt our lesson.

One of the dimensions of India Pukeland conflict this time is that people on the ground are being intelligent and understand the stark difference between the two nations. Of course, there are stragglers who think otherwise. For the first time, people in Kashmore are realizing that the terrorism unleashed by ASim Munir PA and its LeT henchmen are disgusting blatant terrorism killing innocents. Many Indian politicos who were iffy previously are now openly and surprisingly on India's side. Contrast this with the people in Puke land. They are protesting the PA, Govt of Pukeland. BLA feels their minerals/gas is stolen and they get nothing in return. The POK residents are protesting against Pukeland, some are openly with India. Even those Puke residents in India don't want to go back to Puke land. There is clear divide between the two peoples of the nations of India vs Pukeland. .This is a huge advantage for India when the people are against Pukeland. The contingent of IA has muslims especially in the J&K unit and are totally against Puke land. They are a well decorated unit and given the go ahead would decimate the Pukes.

( this is podcast with India and Puke land person: The puke land person says Pak land dis-integrated is better for everyone.. youtube.com/watch?v=FWbKz62CsT8 )

Modiji has given complete latitude in ops for the IA and others. The old style battle formations are all fine and dandy. But now tactical surprise and timing are important for any strike. India should not give into any expectations of the PA / Puke Govt for immediate conflict. Instead the IA should defend all possible PA incursions and take on any weakness in defence by the Pukes. With CDS a coordinated attack both aerial and ground with blockade by IN should be in the plans. Maybe BLA and Taliban should also strike at the same time. ASim should be fearful of all out multi-prong attack. BLA and Taliban must be assured of economic tie up with India which is growing.

Sure it did in paper. But there were complexities with in the politico-diplomatic establishment. Basically, Islamic armies will shoot first and then use civilians as human shield. They will then appeal to the liberal minds to spare them. Israelis understand this very well and that is why they care less about collateral damage. That was one of the cited reasons that the political leadership hesitated that time for immediate action.
