FATF issued a strong statement about Pahalgam, meanwhile Pakistan claims victory at FATF.

But what I gather is that India’s main effort to push Pakistan on the FATF grey list will happen in a few months.

Journalist with 104K followers in X. Since this smuggling is below the table hard to get real picture. Can anyone add more information. I read somewhere that this will be a massive blow to Pakistan. If Iran war is over and if they complied with USA demand on nuclear weapons and oil sanction is lifted then there is no incentive for them to smuggle oil to Pakistan, is that correct?

What deal will Munir and Trump arrive at? Their lunch is closed door and no readout to the press afterwards.

Strong Iran means Pakistan will revert to “Khuda Hafiz” from “Allah Hafiz”.

Added: I think Munir will avoid talking if he can; if compelled to, he will make a Musharraf 2001 type speech arguing that preserving the only second nation based on the Kalima requires pragmatic measures like stabbing Iran in the back. It may eventually result in a lot of baskets of mangoes being gifted to the Failed Marshall by the pro-Iranian faction.

TFT speculation:
Does this meeting mark a major strategic reset? For years, Pakistan’s alignment with China seemed unshakable, with CPEC symbolising an “all-weather friendship.” However, Asim Munir’s engagement with Trump challenges that narrative, surprising those who saw Pakistan as Beijing’s unwavering ally. As Pakistan’s first Field Marshal since Ayub Khan, Asim Munir brings a pragmatic military perspective, possibly aiming to counterbalance China’s growing influence as CPEC’s debt burdens weigh heavily. This does not signal an abandonment of China but rather a rebalancing—diversifying Pakistan’s strategic options. For the U.S., eager to curb China’s reach in South Asia, Pakistan offers a nuclear-armed partner with strategic proximity to Iran and Afghanistan. Asim Munir’s move suggests a calculated pivot, potentially heralding a reset in bilateral ties.

Pakistan’s outreach to the U.S. is also driven by economic necessity. The country faces serious economic challenges. Aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank is a lifeline, and U.S. backing is pivotal to securing it. In 2023, Pakistan narrowly avoided default with a $3 billion IMF bailout, contingent on tough reforms. Asim Munir likely sees Trump’s support as key to future packages, a point almost certainly on the meeting’s agenda. The U.S. could use this leverage to gain concessions on security or alignment, making Pakistan’s economic dependence a cornerstone of this potential reset.
But a pro-US Pakistan would make Afghanistan and Iran pivot more to China, maybe?

TFT highlights the military to military dialog:
The head of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), General Michael Erik Kurilla, began a new chapter with Pakistan after Asim Munir became Army Chief in November 2022. Since then, they have had four official meetings. Kurilla visited Pakistan from 14–16 December 2022, meeting Asim Munir at GHQ in Rawalpindi and visiting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to observe border security. On 24 July 2023, Kurilla returned to meet Asim Munir again. In December 2023, Asim Munir visited the U.S. for the first time as COAS. On 18 December, he met Kurilla at CENTCOM HQ in Tampa, Florida. Kurilla visited Pakistan again in May 2024 to observe the Inspired Union 2024 naval drills and review border security, though no official meeting with Asim Munir was recorded.

Dawn:
When questioned about the meeting in an interaction with the media later, Trump said, “I was honoured to meet him (Field Marshal Munir) today.”

Asked whether the talks included the current Iran-Israel conflict, Trump said: “They (Pakistan) know Iran very well, better than most, and they’re not happy about anything. It’s not that they’re bad with Israel. They know them both, actually, but they know Iran better.

“He (Field Marshal Munir) agreed with me. The reason I had him here was that I wanted to thank him for not going into the war [with India]. And I want to thank PM [Narendra] Modi as well, who just left a few days ago. We’re working on a trade deal with India and Pakistan. These two very smart people decided not to keep going with a war that could have been a nuclear war. Pakistan and India are two big nuclear powers.”
...
Earlier, when questioned by reporters on the White House lawn about the diplomatic outcomes expected from the meeting with Field Marshal Munir, Trump remarked, “This man was extremely influential in stopping it (India-Pakistan fighting) from the Pakistan side.”

An explosion on the railway track near Jacobabad in Pakistan caused six coaches of the Jaffar Express to derail on Wednesday, once again raising serious questions about the safety of train travel through Balochistan.

The train was travelling from Peshawar to Quetta when the blast ripped through the tracks. According to police, the explosion created a three-foot-wide crater and destroyed nearly six feet of rail line, according to Samaa TV. The impact was so severe that the wheels of the derailed coaches were thrown off the track, bringing the train to an abrupt halt.

He pointed out that Pakistan’s total budget outlay is $62 billion, while India’s largest state, Uttar Pradesh, alone has a budget of $97 billion. “Our total revenue is $50 billion, while UP’s is $80 billion. Our tax revenue is $16 billion less than that of just one Indian state,” he emphasized, underscoring the massive economic disparity.

The bad conditions in Balochistan

https://slguardian.org/balochistan-the- ... usion/amp/
Secondly, according to the Economic Survey 2025, Balochistan’s educational infrastructure reveals catastrophic deficiencies:

79% of government schools lack electricity,
71% have no access to drinking water,
52% operate without boundary walls, and
51% lack toilet facilities.
These statistics position Balochistan as the most educationally deprived province in Pakistan, with conditions far worse than Punjab, where 100% of schools have drinking water and 99% have electricity.

The scale of educational exclusion is staggering. Over 2.8 million children in Balochistan are out of school—approximately 69% of school-aged children. This includes 78% of girls and 63% of boys, with rural female literacy rates as low as 2%. The province has over 7,000 single-room, single-teacher schools serving multiple grades—without basic facilities or security.

Dunno if this is true:
Parmod Sharma ( Journalist ) 🕉
@News_Politics24
#BreakingNews‌ Pakistan has denied landing permission to Iranian Hajj pilgrims
Their plane is now landing in Afghanistan instead.
Yet on social media,
Pakistan loudly claims to “stand with Iran.”

--
What is a fact is that Afghanistan has told Iran that its Hajj planes returning from Saudi Arabia are free to land in Afghanistan.

🚨 🎙️[LEAKED AUDIO – PENTAGON FILE #982-STRIKEPROXY]

A disturbing recording has surfaced from inside the Pentagon allegedly captured during a classified briefing with Pakistan Army Chief Gen. Asim Munir. The leaked audio, outlines a chilling strategy: launching large-scale, military-style covert attacks not against India, but against Iran and Afghanistan. Munir reportedly proposes destabilizing eastern Iran to fracture the Shia regime, and reigniting chaos in western Afghanistan to invite renewed foreign intervention. This isn’t defense planning, it’s mercenary betrayal, delivered straight to American ears. Why is a Sunni general offering up Muslim neighbors on a silver platter in Washington? Who sanctioned this regional blood bargain? As Kabul reels from decades of war and Tehran holds its fragile line, Rawalpindi’s silence grows suspicious. With each whisper from Munir, the myth of Muslim unity dies a little more. The Pentagon may not comment but the region must now choose: confront the betrayal, or fall victim to it."

the myth of Muslim unity dies
Terroristan has shown quite repeatedly that there is no unity in the Islamic nations with its action. Note that many Islamic nations sided with India on Operation Sindoor. Furthermore, AssIam Manure gave a watch to Iran's top military liason officer to Khamenei and liason officer was taken out by the Israeli missile team using the beam emitted by the watch. Each Islamic nation is doing things which is in their best interests, which does not coincide with unity of Muslim nations.

Iranian media says Pak Army chief Asim Munir leaked location details of Iran’s top military commander, Mohammad Hossein Baqeri whom he met at the end of May. (Baqeri was killed in strikes few days back. Pak is playing double game as usual.)
