https://x.com/AjayshreeSamby3/status/19 ... 5980089478 ---> #GoodNews. Larsen and Toubro (L&T) and Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau are at an advanced stage of completing design of 2,500 tons conventional diesel electric submarines to be completed under one year. L&T was selected as a joint design partner after a competition.

VIDEO: https://x.com/DefenceDecode/status/1946817232534737284 ---> In a major development, J.D. Patil, Director and SEVP of L&T Defence, revealed an accelerated conventional submarine design program — informally named 'Project-76' — being pursued in partnership with the Warship Design Bureau. Its design is on advance stages and will reach finalization in just one year.

I hope it materializes then we might have 3 shipyard for submarine building.

HSL & MDL to build SSN/SSGN/SSBN

L&T to build SSK.

This will help to build up the sizeable sub surface capability in a relatively quick time.

MDL is also building the three follow on Scorpenes + the six Project 75I vessels.

Hoping that the six build Project 76 SSK program transitions to *AT MINIMUM* a 12 build program.

knowing INs propensity for 3s and 6s , it could be a variant or a different class after 6 !

When we can have our own P-76 SSK, then there should not be any P-75I. All the stakeholders should focus on this P-76 program and production run of 12-18 submarines in 3 or 4 tranches.

If there is any thoughts of stopgap, then it should be SSN and here MDL production line could be used after the 3 Scorpenes.

In the Video its said to be a 1500 ton Submarine and not the 3000 ton reported earlier. Assuming it to be Scorpene design+ATV Systems to keep it indigenous. Add to that DRDO AIP. If this is true, then the project will fructify much more faster.
