Government may allow wholly owned local subsidiaries of foreign defence manufacturers to qualify as "Indian vendors" in defence procurement, addressing a long-standing industry demand. This move would simplify procurement, boost domestic manufacturing & encourage foreign companies to set up operations in lndia:https://m.economictimes.com/news/defenc ... 278267.cms
We have plenty of competent firms in India itself. Would it enable them somehow if foreign players go for 100% FDI? Even JVs are better than this for gaining competency? Not sure what the holistic advantages of this move are.

“Gave shelter to Pakistan…” Sambit Patra blames Sonia Gandhi for India not acting post-26/11
Commenting on former Union Minister P. Chidambaram’s claim that India did not retaliate against Pakistan after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks due to foreign pressure, BJP MP Sambit Patra alleged that it was Sonia Gandhi who dictated inaction. He said that under her influence, India bowed to external pressures, and the Congress leadership unlawfully decided not to respond to Pakistan’s aggression, impacting the nation’s sovereignty.

**First, keep both applications together on your phone.

EAM S. Jaishankar Addresses Kautilya Economic Conclave 2025

THE SILENT CORRUPTION in INDIA

Everyone on social media even the Ministry of Finance reacted quickly to the bribery issue at the Customs Department.

Yes, it’s a serious matter.

But do you know what’s far worse and far more embarrassing?

Adulteration in India.

Paneer, milk, honey, spices, you name it, and chances are, it’s adulterated.
This isn’t just corruption in offices, it’s corruption in our food, our homes, and our bodies.

All because of one thing - greed.
The hunger to make money fast, even if it poisons others.

If this continues, I won’t be surprised if, a couple of generations from now, we see major genetic changes, rising cancers, and new diseases - all because we failed to protect something as basic as the food we eat.

+108

The food adulteration in Bharat is incredibly wide spread. Not just hygiene in preparation but even basic ingredients like turmeric , chilli powder, cooking oil, paneer etc are widely adulterated. And then there is thook jihad.

I have reduced eating out to strict minimum during my visits to desh, except for rare occasions, travels etc when it's unavoidable. Even then I stick mostly to pure veg south Indian reputed old style places. Even that is not a 100% guarantee but reduces risk.
Perhaps living in Europe for many years has made me ultra sensitive on this topic.

It's quite sad because Im a foodie and love to eat varied cuisines.

India Adopts US Style War Supply Chain Model

Ministry of Defence, India has amended the Revenue Procurement Manual to remove the mandatory No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from Munitions India Limited for private firms entering ammunition production. This reform, part of the broader Defence Procurement Manual 2025 approved by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, opens the gates for private companies to manufacture critical munitions—ranging from 105mm and 150mm artillery shells to Pinaka rockets, mortar rounds, and 1,000-pound aerial bombs.

The move aligns with Atma nirbhar bharat with India’s strategic push for full-spectrum self-reliance in defence manufacturing. With global conflicts like Ukraine–Russia exposing vulnerabilities in sustained firepower, India aims to build resilient supply chains by leveraging private sector efficiencies. Currently, public sector units dominate production, but shortfalls in propellants and high-calibre shells have left stockpiles dangerously thin—often covering just 10–15 days of intense conflict.

Private firms such as Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Group, and L&T are now positioned to scale up output, with investments exceeding ₹5,000 crore and plans to double production within two years. This policy not only boosts India’s deterrence posture but also strengthens its export potential, with defence exports already hitting ₹23,622 crore in FY 2024–25. The battlefield supply chain has officially gone hybrid—and strategic.

It has become a fashion that commit every crime for your vote bank and blame it to Ambedkar

Truth is
- Ambedkar never said about reservation in private sector
- Ambedkar strictly wanted reservation to remain less than 50%
- Ambedkar wanted reservation only for 10 years

I don't get this - why equate NoC with not allowing pvt sector to manufacture certain types of defence equipment? DDM strike?

NoC can be given after vetting the pvt co. as per established guidelines no? Assuming such guidelines reflect current realities and national interest?

Alternates to Rare-earths is good for the world and gets rid of dependency on such stuff which pollutes the entire world in extraction process.

India’s first automotive OEM Ola Electric to receive government certification for our in-house developed ferrite motor, completely free of rare-earth elements.

Ferrite motors aren’t new globally, but developing one indigenously that matches the performance of rare-earth permanent magnet motors is a major step forward for India’s EV ecosystem.

By removing rare-earth dependence, we’re de-risking our supply chain, lowering costs, and strengthening India’s long-term technology independence.

This certification marks another step toward building deep engineering capability and ensuring that our EV future is designed, developed, and manufactured in India.
