I really don’t get the hate for BCCI, it is almost fashionable for some to vilify it. It is beyond debate that this organisation is the only one that had the gumption and the cojones to start from scratch, challenge the established order of the goras and defeat them fair and square at their own game in finance, administration and the actual game itself. No other sports organisation is even a tenth of what BCCI has done. In the process, it has completely revamped the way the game is played in India providing more pay, more facilities and a more professional approach. No other sports organisation was able to do it. There is no point complaining that cricket starved other sports - at one time hockey was as popular if not more, why didn’t that federation achieve even a quarter of what BCCI did?

Is it beyond reproach? Of course not- there is cronyism, corruption and political involvement due to the monies involved - but so do other organisations. Why the hate on BCCI hain ji?

Exactly so was there no BCCI or ICC officials that could present the trophy and medals and complete the formalities? Considering the antics already? Presence of mind lacking in BCCI babudom I think

Agree Tanaji Gary.
BCCI bashing is unnecessary. They have considered all parameters and decided to play in this tournament, with Govt nod. That's good enough for me.
The pakis have really pissed off the hosts with their attitude. Their captain threw aside the runners up cheque the badtameez.
Bashing would have been stratospheric had we lost the finals. But we won, so please enjoy the meltdown videos and memes.

It was an ACC event, S_Madhukar ji.

that pig who was to present the trophy is both the current ACC president, as well as, the paki home minister.

It was a a huge matter of ecchh&dee for them but they got their jihadi @$$e$ creamed, because their players let them down three times in a row

their money was assured any way.

the pig also ran away with the trophy and the winner's medals

just saying onlee

Mohsin Naqvi is claiming victory in all wars.

This is what you should expect from those who celebrate a victory after pleading for ceasefire

In UAE, India launched Operation Tilak and in return Pakistan responded with operation Chaddi-mein-susu claiming they had taken another 6 7 wickets. Apparently Trump had brokered a peace deal to end the match before it spiralled out of control with promises of doing a 'deal'. Captain Salman Ali Agha has been promoted to be Bakistan Cricket Mard-al-Captain (BC-MC) for his stupendous effort. Pakistanis are going wild making signs of 3-0 to denote their hat-trick success in the Asia Trophy.

Khawaja Asif when asked about proof of their victory, replied that Pakistan had brought home the Asia Cup Trophy. Haven't you seen Mohsin Naqvi carrying the trophy? It's all over on social media. :rotfl:

whatever you say, rauf supported India well.

BCCI should make sure haris rauf doesn’t get dropped from the paki team.

He is one of our most important players.

The bleddy thief has ran away with the silverware and refuses to hand it over. BCCI should withhold payment to PCB pending its return…

In the meanwhile womens team has made a winning start to the WC campaign with a win from behind against SL.

India is missing a trick. Must invite Israel to join the ICC and then lets see who wants to talk about politicising the game. 8) 8) 8)

Gukesh represents Bharat & the oldies like carlson and hikaru represent the envious old world order about to close.

Bharat has to walk the path to glory by struggling all alone from here on the world stage.

There will not be any support or any compassion shown to Bharat or Bhartiya citizens anywhere because now they perceive us as a threat to themselves.

As far as you talked about poverty and illiteracy and asked for financial and other support, the global north loved it.

Now every single bhartiya is a spy or job snatcher for them.

is this why India played cricket with the pakis

In August this year, the Union Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports for submission of bid for the Commonwealth Games in 2030. It also gave its approval to sign the Host Collaboration Agreement (HCA) along with the required Guarantees from concerned Ministries, Departments and Authorities and sanction of required grant-in-aid to Gujarat Government, in case the bid gets accepted.

3 Afghan Cricketers Among 8 Dead In Pakistani Airstrike

https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-ne ... 53295.html
The latest flare-up came hours after Pakistan and Afghanistan reportedly agreed to extend their 48-hour ceasefire until the conclusion of talks in Doha.

Just as the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan seemed to ease up after a ceasefire announcement, the Taliban claimed late last night that Pakistani forces carried out airstrikes on its territory, killing at least 10 people.

Three local Afghanistan cricketers were along among those killed, the country's cricket board said, mourning the big loss.

Following the killing of three local cricketers, Afghanistan's cricket board announced that they are pulling out of the tri-nation series involving Pakistan and Sri Lanka, "as a gesture of respect to the victims"

Two Australian women cricketers molested in Indore; accused Aqeel Khan arrested within hours

https://www.newindianexpress.com/nation ... sed-held-2

The accused youth, who was driving a motorcycle without a helmet, stalked the two players who were jogging to the café. The accused, who was wearing a white shirt and a black cap, followed the duo. He first tried to grab one of them and drove off. He didn’t stop there but came from behind again and grabbed the other woman cricketer.

Shocked by the unruly approach, the duo resisted the conduct to protect their privacy. They sent a distress signal to the team’s security manager, Danny Simmons, over the phone through the live location of the place. One of the cricketers then called the team’s security manager to inform about the incident, after which the manager rushed to the spot in a car to help the duo.

By the time the team’s security manager reached the spot, a resident man had come to the two cricketers’ rescue. He had already noted the registration number of the bike driven by the accused and rang the police about it.

The matter was later reported to Indore Police by Simmons with the help of MP Cricket Association’s chief administrative officer (CAO) Rohit Pandit, following which an FIR was lodged at the city’s MIG Police Station on October 23.

“The FIR was lodged under BNS Sections 74 and 78, which deal with stalking and outraging a woman's modesty through assault or use of criminal force. With the help of the CCTV grabs and other evidence, the accused was tracked and arrested in less than a day, by October 24 (Friday) evening,” additional DCP (ADCP-Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya told TNIE on Saturday. "Khan has prior criminal cases registered against him, and an investigation is on in the case," police said.
