It is horrifying that at a time of unprecedented global sexualisation of children, this malicious attempt is being made in India. The leader of this gang has no children, but they can't put other people's children at risk.

The arguments put forth by lawyers advocating for reducing the age of sexual consent to 16 are shockingly unscientific and illogical, and it would be tragic if the Supreme court was swayed by them.
My views, on why this is as much a matter of science as it is of law:

There is debate happening in the social media on the increasing number of vaccinations and increase number in Autism cases.
https://x.com/DrPraveenwrites/status/19 ... 7830822303
@DrPraveenwrites
Totally agree with Dr Vembu!
Vaccination was always the default method of ruining humanity's health.
In 1990, 1 in 25000 children had autism in US. It is now 1 in 32 because of vaccination.
In India upto 5 years of age, there are atleast 12 vaccinations. In US it is up to 35 vaccinations.
Dr Vembu is asking India not to catch up
He is voicing out for the next generation! @svembu
https://x.com/svembu/status/1982997965234155949
@svembu
Parents should take this analysis seriously. I believe there is increasing evidence that we are giving way too many vaccines to very young children. This is spreading in India too and we are seeing a rapid increase in autism in India.

Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
Yea right. But for vaccinations we still would have small pox (killing millions), polio (crippling more millions), Covid 19 etc. (when compared to equally virulent Spanish Flu, how many died?). But who cares?Vaccination was always the default method of ruining humanity's health.
In 1990, 1 in 25000 children had autism in US. It is now 1 in 32 because of vaccination.
And then we have Dr. Trump who claims Tylenol CAUSES autism. Who to believe?
Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
I hope Andrew Wakefield gets all that is coming to him after he dies - eternal agony.
Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
The comparison with "1 in 25000" in 1990 is misleading.
Back then, autism had just been recognized as a diagnosable/clinical condition. The "increasing rate" of autism diagnoses is mostly due to better diagnosis.
Of course there is every reason to scientifically investigate "actual" increases in autism due to potential changes in environmental or genetic factors. However, the claims regarding "vaccines" are not properly supported.
In 2000, the reported autism rate was 1:150, obviously there is no credible route for a more than 100x actual increase in prevalence of autism between 1990 and 2000.
https://autismcenter.org/autism-through-the-years
Clearly, this cannot be attributed just to "vaccines" since the US has had a rigorous vaccine regimen for many decades.
Also, compare autism rates and vaccination rates by US state:
https://worldpopulationreview.com/state ... s-by-state
https://wallethub.com/edu/states-that-v ... most/66237
States like MS, AL, LA, TX etc that have the worst records of vaccination have nevertheless the same rates of autism (and it is probably higher than reported in most of these states, since they also have the worst healthcare, education, and social indicators).

Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
One thing that almost never gets called out in this anti vaccine fiasco: the role of the magazine “Lancet” in giving credence to this quackery. Why did the editors not do due diligence before publishing the fraudsters article? Why did it take nearly 12 years for it to retract the paper? This even after Brian Deer had comprehensively exposed him in 2004 itself - so a full 6 years Lancet did nothing.
There are many docs on this forum- can anyone clarify why that magazine is held in high regard? The editors seem to comment on politics as well which is quite strange for a scientific magazine to do.

Martin Adel Makary (/məˈkæri/) is a British-American surgeon, professor, author, and medical commentator who has served as the 27th commissioner of food and drugs since 2025. He practices surgical oncology and gastrointestinal laparoscopic surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, is Mark Ravitch Chair in Gastrointestinal Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and is the chief of Islet Transplant Surgery at Johns Hopkins. Makary completed his surgical residency at Georgetown University and sub-specialty training in surgical oncology and gastrointestinal surgery at Johns Hopkins under John Cameron, later joining Cameron’s faculty practice.
...
In November 2024, President-Elect Donald Trump announced Makary would be his nominee to head the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as its commissioner.[6][7] He was confirmed by the United States Senate in March 2025.[8] As FDA commissioner, Makary has prioritized modernizing regulatory processes, launching AI-assisted review tools, and incorporating anecdotal evidence in food safety decisions.
...
COVID-19 pandemic
Makary considers himself pro-vaccine but has also criticized vaccination mandates for populations other than healthcare workers.[2] Makary recommended a single-dose mRNA vaccine regimen for children 12-17 to minimize the occurrence of myocarditis as a reaction, contrary to the CDC's finding that the risks of infection "far outweigh" those of the two-dose vaccine schedule.[2][42] In December 2021, he appeared on a podcast to argue against vaccine boosters, referring to himself as an "unboosted male" and saying that the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant was "nature's vaccine".[43]
...
On May 20, 2025, FDA Commissioner Makary and CBER director Vinay Prasad published an article in The New England Journal of Medicine announcing that the FDA would limit COVID-19 vaccines to people over 65 or at high risk of serious illness and would require manufacturers to conduct additional large studies to evaluate their benefits for children and healthy younger adults.[44][45]

This from Dr. Bhattacharya's Wikipedia biopage
His religious beliefs may be driving his anti-vacc stand. RFK Jr. is also a Catholic (of Irish descent).Early life and education
Bhattacharya was born in 1968 in Kolkata, India, to a Bengali Hindu family.[12][13] He later became a naturalized American citizen.[14] At Stanford University, he completed both a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) in economics in 1990, graduating with honors and earning membership in Phi Beta Kappa. While in college, Bhattacharya converted to Christianity.[15] He continued his studies at Stanford, simultaneously pursuing a medical degree and a doctorate in economics. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Stanford University School of Medicine in 1997 and completed his Ph.D. at Stanford in economics, econometrics, and health economics in 2000.[16][17] His doctoral dissertation, "Lifetime returns to specialization in medicine," was supervised by professor Thomas MaCurdy.[18]
Re: Modi 3.0 - Bharat
It should not be seen as black and white. There are things that help prevent serious health issues need vaccination, while the new age push to put vaccine for everything with ulterior motive of profit not only need thorough investigation but banning as well. Companies like Pfizer denying medical trails within India during Covid is an eyeopener about the unethical ways companies function. Medical field today with their unethical practices has lost the moral highground that they once held and people are suspicious of them.saip wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025 21:56Yea right. The US has issued a “Letter of Comfort” to Germany confirming that the operations of Rosneft’s German business are exempt from its new sanctions, because they are considered fully decoupled from the Russian parent company.
Meanwhile, India has protested what it calls “double standards”, pointing out that Germany (and the UK) successfully secured exemptions while India, which also has a Rosneft-subsidiary footprint, has not yet obtained comparable relief.

https://blogs.uoregon.edu/autismhistory ... n-the-dsm/
Autism’s curious history in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, the American Psychiatric Association’s diagnostic bible, reveals how dramatically the diagnosis has evolved over the past half-century or more.
….
Like earlier episodes in the history of autism as a diagnosis, Autism Spectrum Disorder combined the quest for scientific rigor with purposeful vagueness. Autism’s appearance and treatment in the DSM since 1952 illustrates that autism’s rise to prominence had a great deal to do with heightened awareness of the term, more expansive diagnostic criteria, and greater willingness to label autistic children than in the past. Autism itself—whether it is one syndrome or many—remains elusive and uncertain.

Building on 5,000 Years of Innovation — Sanjeev Sanyal on India’s Shipbuilding Revival
Throughout history, a robust shipbuilding capacity has been one of the defining features of a major power. As India embarks on its great power journey, raising a robust global shipbuilding hub is a critical requirement for it. At the moment, India accounts for less than a single percentage point of the global shipbuilding industry. Going ahead, the government has targeted India emerging as one of the top 10 shipbuilding nations by 2030 and among the top 5 by 2047. Global maritime assets are currently valued at over $1 trillion; redirecting and reconstructing fleets means that there will be lucrative investment opportunities for the private sector in India. This panel will explore the opportunities, challenges, and strategies necessary to achieve India’s objective of building a vibrant shipbuilding sector.
