Re: Explosion @ Red Fort, Delhi - News & Discussion
The ammonium nitrate bomb that I remember is that of the Oklahoma City bombing, April 19, 1995, and was around 2200 kilograms.
Timothy McVeigh's bomb was a homemade device primarily made from approximately 4,800 to 5,000 pounds of agricultural fertilizer (ammonium nitrate) mixed with fuel oil (specifically nitromethane racing fuel).
McVeigh and his accomplice, Terry Nichols, mixed the ingredients and packed them into several 55-gallon plastic barrels, which were then placed in the back of a rented yellow Ryder truck.
McVeigh used a timed fuse system and commercial blasting caps and other explosives (stolen from a quarry) to initiate the main charge.
....
The bomb exploded at 9:02 a.m. on April 19, 1995, in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, destroying a third of the nine-story building and killing 168 people.

Jaish e Muhammad Terror Operative Umar Muhammad is key to Red Fort blast. Umar was an accomplice of Dr. Muzamil and Dr. Aadil who were arrested earlier from Saharanpur in UP & Faridabad in Haryana. Umar was likely killed in the blast. He got the car from Tariq. Tariq got it from another accomplice who is still being traced.
This photo is likely not of Umar or Tariq but a third accomplice who took the car and handed over to Tariq. Midnight investigations into Red Fort blast underway at war footing by Delhi Police, Special Cell, Crime Branch, J&K Police, NSG, NIA, FSL, IB and other agencies.

Red Fort blast: i20 entered Delhi at 8:04 am, drove around, left parking at 6:22 pm
https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/c ... 2025-11-11
CCTV footage has revealed that the car, Hyundai i20, which exploded near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening, was parked for over three hours near the historic Sunehri Masjid, leaving the spot just minutes before the deadly explosion that killed nine people and injured several others.
The footage shows the silver i20 entering the parking area adjacent to the mosque at 3.19 pm and remaining there until 6.22 pm, leaving the spot shortly before the 7 pm explosion that ripped through Subhash Marg near Gate No 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station.
A detailed timeline of the car has surfaced. Based on CCTV footage and toll booth records, Delhi Police’s Special Cell has mapped the car’s entire movement on November 10, from its entry into the city to the moments before the blast.
8.04 am: The car entered Delhi from the Badarpur toll booth, crossing over from the Faridabad side.
8.20 am: It was spotted at a petrol pump near Okhla Industrial Area, where it halted briefly.
During the day: The vehicle was also seen passing through Darya Ganj, Kashmere Gate, and near Sunehri Masjid, indicating movement across central and old Delhi.
3.19 pm: The Hyundai i20 entered the parking area adjacent to the Red Fort, near the historic Sunehri Masjid.
6.22 pm: The car exited the same parking area, as captured on CCTV.
Shortly after: The vehicle was seen moving through Chandni Chowk, taking a U-turn near Red Fort, and stopping on Subhash Marg near Gate No 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, where it exploded just before 7 pm.
The car’s prolonged stay near Sunehri Masjid and its movement through multiple high-security zones suggest that the attacker may have conducted a reconnaissance before executing the blast.

It all started because the CID chief and the SHO in Naugam (Srinagar) were not okay with taking the appearance of Jaish posters lightly—which isn’t a very unusual or unprecedented occurrence. Their efforts to trace the origin led them to this module.

MEET DR. SHAHEENA
Government agencies are focussing now on Dr. Shaheena, a medical practitioner from Uttar Pradesh. According to investigators, Dr. Shaheena maintained close links with key accused Muzzamil, Adil, and Omar — all part of the same extremist cell. She was reportedly in a relationship with Muzzamil, in whose possession significant recoveries have been made.
Agencies have found that Dr. Shaheena frequently travelled to Kashmir and is suspected to have financed the group’s activities. The module is believed to have pooled ₹35–40 lakh, with Shaheena contributing substantially. A vehicle from which weapons were recovered in Faridabad was also registered in her name.
Sources say she was fully aware that the materials procured were not meant for agriculture, but for planned blasts. Encrypted communications between Shaheena, Muzzamil, and Omar were routed through medical welfare groups and NGO channels — later exposed as covers for illicit fund transfers.
Investigators now believe her association with the Alfalah network in Delhi-NCR may have been the starting point of her radicalisation — and a key recruitment hub for the wider cell.
Dr. Shaheena stands accused of using her professional background to mask extremist intent and evade security scrutiny, making her one of the most significant figures in this unfolding investigation.
