I pray for the lost pilot's good gati. Needless to say we will hear shrill noise from certain quarters- just look the other way and hope the best for our Airmen, scientists and production house as they fix issues if they need to be fixed.

Neither can that be avoided totally nor the crashes.

Seems similar to the Poland F-16 crash -- rolls inverted... then rolls back.... and discovers he's run out of ground...and makes a hole in the ground. Wonder if they had watched the Poland F-16 crash routine and decided to build safeguards into our routine to avoid this, then this could have been avoided. Totally avoidable crash I feel.

^ They do very careful calculations using various parameters like altitude, temperature, humidity etc to set a 'Hard Deck' to avoid such issue.

Seems like the accident happened at low altitude high angle of attack during an acrobatic maneuver . It was a very risky maneuver and most air show crashes and almost all of the fatal ones have been during such a maneuver . Doubt any other angle to it. On an average there seem to be 2 fatal crashes a year in airshows ,most in us and Canada . Which makes me wonder why we even do these things , particularly low altitude acrobatics which don't really have a role in modern combat .

My hearts is with the pilot . May he attain moksha . He died in the service of Bharat mata.

LA-5026 is the aircraft that crashed today in Dubai, UAE. I have updated the first post in page 1 of the Tejas Mk1 thread. The aircraft was from No 18 Flying Bullets Squadron, while Wing Commander Namansh Syal was from No 3 Cobras Squadron. No 18 Sqn lost LA-5020 in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan last year. I believe No 3 Sqn is the first unit to be raised with the Mk1A variant. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This wasn’t a stall, FBW can prevent exceeding the flight envelope but not CFIT

Arguably it looks like the auto recovery feature of the FCS attempted to regain control at the end hence why there was no ejection (if the pilot was not fully conscious )
