as for disagreement with you (or anyone else for that mater) on what constitutes warning-worthy posts or dilution of mod power (what is that ?

regards.
This is the same warning made by a series of people on BRF from 1997. Some are still here some are not. Without meaning to be insulting, and unfairly using my experience as admin may I point out that such warnings usually come from people who are politely trying to say "You may lose me. Now think is that is good for you and BRF"Viv Sreenivasan wrote:If you guys use warnings too much you will drive the more creative and intelligent users away from BR and will be left with a sanitised boring group who will lead to a major dumbing down at BR. Do you want that?
Totally agree. As they would say "Thij ij a bain in da musharraf"SaiK wrote:It feels so downgraded to read the BENIS language in almost all threads including LCA, etc.
and You Also posted in the Food and Wine thread the following:SaiK wrote:It feels so downgraded to read the BENIS language in almost all threads including LCA, etc.
I cannot make head and tail of your above post. I reread it three times to comprehend your post. You have written in plain english and yet the whole post is worse than any other post written in Benis bhasha. I said, sounds like a good plan.
.. she was aroused by the aroma from the near by kitchen that traveled till about 5th floor...
mm, the bacon/...mean the eggs smelling is really soo good!..
wondering: similar to that moral values "thadguy" post in nukkad by Rahul M, does this apply to food too?
what is smelling and correct to one's senses is not necessarily morally correct and smelling great for entirely another person who may be coming from a different culture and place.
along with language, religion etc, food takes an important position in cultural and moral values building in a society.
/advanced apologies to all non-veggies!

People generally have a lot of mig-givings and misconceptions and it will be great to have a ready reckoner of useful links/ arguments that can be easily lookedup/referred to.
Can we have a Thread solely dedicated to providing relevant links touching diverse topics so that one can refer to them.
More like a concentrate rather than the diiluted juice that other threads become.
I see. But the Misc thread can be very descriptive and at the same time can come to a standstill on one topic.Rahul M wrote:n00b corner and military misc thread was created for this very purpose.
Maybe the mods can merge the three threads into one, and name it something like "The Indian Tri Service History Thread" or something.Rahul M wrote:sure, go ahead.

I guess use of common sense is encouraged in such matters. Jingoism should be aligned with patriotism at all times.jamwal wrote:Is it OK for members living near defence installations to post information about daily or unusual activities that happen there.
The reason given in the post edits has been "trolling" (and in one case, "yakyaking"). However, what has been left behind of Dhiman's posts (regardless of its merits in terms of logical argument) does not seem to constitute anything objectionable. And like it or not, that is what anyone coming to this discussion thread at a later point is going to see of it... what has been left behind.Rahul M wrote:RD ji, may I know why you are 'imagining' some reason when the actual reason has been already given above in the post edits ?Honestly, I don't think any of Dhiman's posts on this thread merited a ban. What did he do? Criticize Israel? Since when is that against the rules here?
I've no problems with posts criticizing israel (or even India for that matter) provided it is backed up by facts and logic.
at least, that's BR for me.
Well of course, my impression is going to be based on what I can see, not what has been edited out. So is anybody else's that comes along later, whether or not they share my opinions or choose to say anything about it.which is correct, because you cannot 'see' the trollish content anymore.those posts have been edited. As far as I can see, Dhiman has not engaged in trollish behaviour.
you were not there when the 'trolling' happened, so this taking a strong stand without knowing what happened is not justified IMO.
