Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps

Outstanding interview with ACM Krishnaswamy on India Today with Rahul Kanwal. Cant really paraphrase, but he's been talking to them for a while now. I'm sure India Today will repeat the interview / phone call.

"It seems that Indian side is slapping its own face," Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said while discussing reports that India was building a road between[b] Marsimik La to Hot Spring in Ladakh sector . But a road/track always existed between Marsimik La and the hot spr...

Re: Managing Chinese Threat (09-08-2014)

Alright, I'm going to try and take a stab at clearing things up a bit. Most of the reports in the media and the journo's themselves seem to be mixing up the two areas. Maybe I am wrong as well.. but anyway :-? . The doklam (or donglang) plateau is the disputed region in the west of bhutan. The Dok-l...

Re: Indian Army History Thread

Visited Ypres, Belgium today. I had only heard that a lot of WW1 battles were fought around the area - also known as Flanders Fields. One of the monuments in the city is an arch / gate with a list of all the men and officers who died in the war, but whose bodies were never found and cremated or buri...

Re: Latest Chinese boast: should we shiver or die laughing?

Any work in this direction is useful. If you like doing it go right ahead and post as long as it is from the Chinese side - even condition of roads is useful. Done deal. I will get to all the major areas: Aksai Chin (DBO - Chushul - Demchok), disputed areas in HP and Uttarakhand, East sikkim - Chum...

- surely a dedicated set of people using Google earth and look at likely areas of Chinese activity and mark them to serve as targets for Indian forces. I did complain earlier that BRFites are more interested in details watching of Indian military sites on Google earth. I want to do something differ...

Re: Currency Demonitisation and Future course of Indian Economy

If I remember correctly from yesterday's presser (Not PM's address) RBI is to print and release limited # of Rs. 2000 notes. 1000 notes were ~40% of all notes in circulation. So the issue of mobility and logistics will be solved to a degree by the new notes.

Re: Discussion on Indian Special Forces

Distant warlord is probably the USA(CIA). The neighbor is probably China. Policeman could also be B.N Mullick The write-up seems to fit well with the early 60's when the SFF ('62) was setup and when the CIA and RAW/IB installed (or tried to) a nuclear powered device at Nanda Devi (65-67) to track ch...

That is incorrect. I flew out of Mumbai today and there were multiple gate announcements for a 9W gate change. They also had their ground staff walking around and asking people if they were waiting for that flight. Just a note.

It's not the Arihant. That is one of the Astute class subs of the royal navy. The name is partly visible behind the pole. Someone needs to tell NDTV.
