Re: Indian Air Force News & Discussion - 15 Dec 2016
The way squadrons are calculated is very odd..different planes and different numbers i suppose. 272 MkI would be making up mere 13 squadrons..at 21 fighters per squadron.. 36 Rafales make up 2 squadrons at 18 per squadron. Tejas again counted as 20 per squadron ..Jags and Mig21s differently Some Un...

Re: MRCA (Many Rakshaks Choose Aircraft) Contest - Episode III
I am indulging in speculation of course that the delay is political. Might just be lack of money right now for even 2 squadrons or it could be the IAF insisting on the number being 114. Only way to find enough money for that is for the Defence Minister and Finance Minister to personally find and ra...

I think a big part of the problem with publc perception of how much of J&K/ Ladakh was actually lost by India during Nehru's time, is the way the maps of the region are shown in India's school books and everywhere else. As a result, 9 out of 10 Indians do not know the true ground position. My w...

Regarding IAF's participation, it needs something to replace Su30 with. GoI is not going to allow it to import 260 replacements or more Rafale. Nor can it replace all with AMCA, due to cost and loadout requirements. It still needs a mud mover. So it will be ORCA or an unmanned version of ORCA. Su30...
