Madras HC Labels Udhayanidhi’s Sanatana Remarks As Hate Speech; Major Win for Amit Malviya | News18
Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court quashed the FIR against BJP leader Amit Malviya, while simultaneously labeling Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments on Sanatana Dharma as "hate speech." Justice S. Srimathy observed that the call for the "eradication" of a faith followed by 80% of the population could be interpreted as a call for genocide, justifying Malviya’s sharp response as a defense of his beliefs.

Can India Become the Third Largest Economy in the World?
Growing at 6.5%, India is the fastest-growing major economy in a sluggish global landscape, driven by infrastructure investment, a digital revolution and an expanding manufacturing base. Yet beneath the momentum lie persistent structural challenges: employment gaps, fiscal pressures and uneven productivity, compounded by rising trade tensions.

Can India harness this growth, investment, and innovation to sustain its trajectory?

The likes of Vidya Balan - and there are many with similar world of view of ‘we did not have a religious identity before or were so polarised’. Seen such in advertising agencies. They have convinced themselves that it was all communal harmony earlier and things changed in 2014. It’s not as if they’d be unaware of partition, numerous riots, how Pandits were made to flee from Kashmir, the demographic changes in border districts & parts of Kerala, TN & AP, 26/11 Mumbai attack - so much more. They refuse to see the problem in the eye. At the core is their own lack of ‘connect’ with Hindu faith, having been deracinated through education and influence of popular culture. They get all reverential with faith of minorities and call for respectful treatment (which is right) but would deny the same to a practicing Hindu. Someone keeping roza or lent would be respected but Ekadasi fasting will be mocked or labelled regressive, a bhakt or bigot. On polarisation I will admit that the rise of social media and more access to extreme view points (which were always there) through various platforms 24x7 makes it appear that this is a new found thing, different from the land of milk & honey prior to 2014.

India’s IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Davos strongly counters IMF Chief for calling India a second-tier AI power:

“I don't know what the IMF criteria is but Stanford places India at 3rd in the world for AI preparedness. I don't think your classification is correct"

I am not sure we should argue about who is top tier and who is second etc. All of this is going to come down like a Florida high-rise built on shaky foundations.

Proof that bureaucrats are bulletproof. Sanjeev Khirwar, ex-Delhi Principal Secy, famously shunted in 2022 for throwing athletes out of a Delhi stadium so he & his wife could walk their dog, has just been appointed Commissioner of the powerful Municipal Corp of Delhi (MCD).👏🏽🤡

Sir, its not us arguing about who is first tier second etc, the west want to tell us that we are second class and the first class is occupied by U.S/West and China. Either you join us or remain as second class ones. Literally racism in plain sight and narrative setting to the world that they are the superior ones. Glad that IT minister challenged and destroyed their construct. They even said, we hold the switch to AI, that it can be switched off to India. Ashwini Vaishnaw said switch it off, it will not affect 95 percent of our requirements as we have our own model. He also called out the notion of Geopolitical advantage bluff.
'Fair, switch it off...': Ashwini Vaishnaw fires back at IMF for calling India second tier in AI

Unbelievable bribe rates in the state. Had applied for BWSSB water connection for multi house building, those rates itself had doubled, finally had to take EMI.
Since the pipe is on opposite side, the contractor connected with the BBMP engineer for road cutting permission.
This is what transpired. Official road cutting DD could come up to 80k+20k bribe. Unofficial permission is half of that 40k,and I will have to get the road done.
This is just for road cutting permission for connection already approved..

Lawlessness culture: Annamalai claims gig worker attacked by armed gang in Chennai
https://www.indiatoday.in/india/story/l ... 2026-01-19
Tamil Nadu BJP president said the victim survived due to the intervention of local residents and accused the ruling party of allowing lawlessness to grow under its watch.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tamil Nadu president K Annamalai on Monday launched a sharp attack on the ruling DMK government, alleging a breakdown of law and order in the state following an armed assault on a gig worker in Chennai’s Velachery area.

Referring to the incident in a post on X, Annamalai said a gig worker was brutally attacked by an armed gang in a residential neighbourhood, and claimed the victim narrowly escaped death due to the timely intervention of local residents who raised an alarm and confronted the attackers.

“Violence has become disturbingly routine in Tamil Nadu under the corrupt DMK regime,” Annamalai said, describing the incident as a reflection of what he called growing lawlessness in the state. He also shared a video of the alleged incident, though India Today could not independently verify the authenticity of the footage.

https://x.com/i/status/2013906072441061536

The state of law and order in Tamil Nadu under the Ganja Model DMK government is deeply alarming.

In Ganapathi, Coimbatore, it has been reported that a young man was brutally attacked by a group intoxicated on ganja. If not for the timely intervention of vigilant local residents, the assault could have ended in a tragic loss of life.

This is not an isolated incident. Recently, in Thiruthani, then in Velachery in Chennai, and yesterday in Coimbatore, a disturbing pattern of violence has emerged across the state.

When those aligned with the DMK are repeatedly exposed in the narcotics trade, it becomes evident why ganja networks flourish, and violence spirals out of control.

Situation in Kerala

A Jamaat-e-Islami leader openly calls for an Islamic Republic. They reject Indian democracy. They reject our Constitution.

Yet in Keralam,
@RahulGandhi’s Congress is partnering with Jamaat for votes, while lying about constitutional values.

Make no mistake.

Rahul, @priyankagandhi, and VD Satheesan know exactly what Jamaat stands for. And still, they choose Jamaat.

Congress has a long, shameful record of compromising with radical forces and defending/justifying radicals/terror.

By mainstreaming Jamaat, they are legitimising ideologies that threaten Keralam’s and India's social and cultural fabric.

Jamaat-backed politics destroyed Bangladesh’s democracy and killed many innocent minorities. We all saw it.

Keralam cannot afford that brand of politics.

This is not routine politics. This is a battle for our Keralam’s soul. Congress, CPM, Jamaat, and SDPI are all sides of the same communal coin.

Malayalees don’t need lessons on "fake secularism." They need jobs, skills, entrepreneurship, safety, peace, and opportunities for our children here in Keralam. They need protection from radical politics.

It’s time to reject the communal politics of Congress/CPM pretending to be secularism.

It is time to choose BJP/NDA’s #PoliticsofPerformance, #VikasitaKeralam, #SurakshitaKeralam, and #VishwasaSamrakshanam. 🇮🇳

Exactly. India should reach 100k GPUs soon. This is state backed infrastructure. We can use it for civil and military applications for now. Private sector is going to be powered by the Google's and Microsoft's anyway. Those companies are not going to switch off anything if they want to capitalize on a growing market. Our private sector managers do not have the resources to invest in some fools paradise until they see real financial ROI. Until then let them call us second tier and waste their money.

Indian Exports Actually INCREASED Now: Ashwini Vaishnaw & Gita Gopinath Decode Tariff Impact At WEF
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and top economist Gita Gopinath discussed the impact of Trump's tariffs on countries including India. While Vaishnaw pointed out that India's exports had actually increased now despite tariffs, Gita Gopinath explained that the impact of tariffs was more muted because the headline numbers are worse than the real-world impact.

Europe Is Ready To Deliver On A Powerful New Agenda With India: India-EU Defence Deal To Be Signed
EU High Representative Kaja Kallas declares Europe ready to deliver a "powerful new agenda" with India, confirming the Security and Defence Partnership (SDP) signature at the January 27 New Delhi Summit—unlocking €150B SAFE defence funding for Indian firms and launching Security of Information Agreement (SOIA) negotiations for classified intel sharing. Covering maritime security, cybersecurity, counter-terrorism, and Ukraine munitions co-production, this pact positions India as indispensable EU partner amid Trump tariff chaos and Arctic realignments, with Indian access to EU's Common Security and Defence Policy missions.

Do you know who they are and why this matters?

They are Castro and Cheguvera, sons of a Communist leader in Kerala, who grew up in a Communist household. Today, they joined the BJP after being inspired by PM
@NarendraModi’s development model and @RajeevRC_X Ji’s vision for #VikasitaKeralam.

Now everyone believes that growth, technology, jobs and effective governance are possible only under the BJP.
